  • This video covers the details of component selection, including motors, batteries, ESC, timers and kits. A brief history of the event is told by originator, Vic Nippert, and a number of fliers are interviewed and shown flying their models, providing their insights into this exciting event. The majority of the video is dedicated to a presentation by Bob Stalick on how to choose and construct E-36 components and models, in this case, the E Pearl 202 E by Don DeLoach.

Great video! I love these planes and escpecially the ones dating back from the '50s a century ago. Good to bring these old plans back to live using modern electronics and sometimes a little R/C. By the way 33:19 the contribution of Mark Freeland is golden!

Snobbery? The only snobbery here is coming from YOU. The hobby does NOT need partisan attitudes likke yours.
Yes free flight is more challenging, and typically it is the more capable builders and fliers that enjoy it, whereas many run of the mill modelers, perhaps like yourself, are not capable of doing it and thus do not appreciate what is involved. So they typically resort to accusing the free lfighters of snobbery or elitism. Wheras many free flighters also enjoy sport RC and other endeavours and don't make stupid comments about them.. because they actually understand that you should just do what you enjoy and shut the f--- up about others.

Disagree! This is for elite-builders and modelers that love to develope their skills. No ARTF. You must be willing to put in some effort.
