    Thank you for the information on recovery. Most Dr's. Will not tell you how to eat to improve health. My ovarian cancer was stage 4 with 1 month to live 15 months ago. Chemo and surgery. Just starting to feel more energy. Trying to improve my diet your tips are inspiring me to try new foods. It's hard to change after a lifetime of unhealthy habits and stress. Just have to stay focused and check your web every day ❤

    Hello Dr. Amy, finding your channel is an answered prayer for me. I struggle mostly with the amount of controversial or contradicting information out there. With you being a doctor AND survivor is what gives me exactly the right combination of trustworthiness ❤️ I was diagnosed stage 2 ovarian cancer due to brca1 mutation (with huge tumor) and after surgeries and 6 chemo, I find myself lost and on my own, worrying and wondering about what's next. Shouldn't there be maintenance therapy available after chemo? Recurrence is definitely the next scary monster to deal with, so I'm very grateful for all the knowledge and information you're putting out for us women and for emphasizing the period after treatment. I asked God to lead me to the right people and right information and here I am, found you completely coincidentally.
    Btw I believe celery and ginger are also great specifically for ovarian. I put them into the juicer with carrots, garlic, onion, bok choy and red beet mostly.
    On another note: should we worry about oxalates, lectins, kidney stones etc with increased plant intake (let's say dramatic) from all the antinutrients?

    She has always disliked almost everything you have suggested and I love it all. Her only method of defence is a teaspoon of raw cannabis nightly before bed. I see your words from your mouth working on her now. It is just not nice for us to continually hear “cancer” but that is trauma I suppose no biggie. Bye and stay good😊 edit. I forgot to mention that she is spiritually very strong and inspires most who meet her. Also, you too, I should remember, are going through this trauma. Can you just eat off the flaxseed in its seed form? Or do you have to grind them down first?

    • @seasonaljoy
      @seasonaljoy Месяц назад

      Hannah, whole seeds just get flushed out of your body. You either have to grind them first or put them whole in a smoothie with a *high speed blender like Vitamix. The Vitamix will crush the seeds in the smoothie. Most blenders aren't powerful enough to do this. You can also buy flaxseed meal. However, once ground, the oil in the flaxseeds begins to deteriorate and go rancid. If you don't have a high speed blender, buy a small coffee grinder and use for grinding your seeds fresh.

Were you eating these listed, recommended foods more so after you were cancer free or were you already eating these food before your diagnosis?

      @@esitupu733 Bottom line is it's irresponsible and misleading to say foods will cure (emphasizing her use of the word CURE) cancer. Nothing can completely prevent or cure cancer especially her specific cancer. If it makes people feel better to eat healthier I'm for it, but it's wrong to mislead them into thinking these foods will miraculously make it go away. Everyone throwing around the title DR these days and come to find out they're not an MD doctor or specialist of any kind. Misinformation at its best.

    Due to debulking surgery most women with ovarian cancer ,depending on where the cancer has spread, mostly in the abdominal, I find this diet quiet hard to follow, because I've had a bowl obstruction where I can not eat foods high in Fiber due to the risk of reoccuring bowl obstruction (which I do NOT ever want to have again), I can not eat seeds, fiber, and nuts, so can you suggest a way to eat this diet without risking a bowel obstruction?

      @@anindividual9225 You likely are overcooking it. Try cooking it shorter times. That is, if you are willing, experiment to find the shortest cooking time that it does not stink and that you consider it to be edible. Generally, cooked broccoli should be bright green and still have some firmness rather than being mushy. You might also try cutting the broccoli into somewhat smaller, approximately equal-sized pieces so that it takes less time to cook while allowing entire pieces to be cooked through, but not mushy.
