Very interesting and brings back memories of working there in the 1980s making Eaton gearbox parts.

My mum worked in their office in the fifties i think. She didn't stay long according to her diary as she took a better job. Was easy to get work then, you could leave one job on a Friday and start a new one on the Monday

Quite sad reading the defeatist comments below considering the UK is one of the richest countries in the world, is the worlds 5th largest exporter of goods and services, militarily number three and the worlds number one financial center but there you go, you can't please everyone. Mustn't grumble.

I àgree. it's sad. But there are many of us that know Britain is still great. Sure we are in trouble due to certain things I will remain quite about. But Britain will rise again, but we can't do it while we are still in the EU..

And noww.....virtually nothing that we can call a `shipping` industry...all thanks to your ever caring goverments of the day? At least my model Perkasa mtb(built a Vospers in the 60`s) can be taken out for a run on my local water occasionally. Such a shame they way our country has gone down the plughole?
