    Thanks for uploading this scene - this is better closure and a better ending for Locke's flashback story from Further Instructions.

    This was a nice little scene and story. Good chemistry between Locke and the cop. You also see the cop clearly sees Locke in the brush and looks the other way to let him escape. Nice human moment here.

    Not quite sure why they'd delete this. Brings pretty nice closure to this portion of John's backstory

      They may have deleted it because the current final flashback ends on an emotional note and they want to keep the narrative tight. The viewer assumes Locke fled the commune in shame since he couldn't "fix" the issue for the leaders. Locke probably just disappeared into the woods after failing to kill Eddie. Here, it is a much better scene with real closure, but the outcome is the same: Locke flees the commune and escapes. The viewer gets no new information about present day Locke on the island from this deleted flashback bit. The only difference here is we get the emotional hook that Eddie manages to see Locke from afar but does not alert anyone else and lets him flee. These little character moments are what made LOST very special.
