Bob Dylan & Cliff Richard are two independents in a sea of rock conformity: two massive risk takers and both of them are turning it all out as good as ever. One of them looks good 'n old, and the other is Cliff: love and respect to both.
Bob can write a good song , but never go d of his voice. Sir Cliff on the other hand has a wonderful voice, picks great songs! Cliff also writes some wonderful songs with depth and meaning and some that are just for fun back in the Shadow days! I never understood why he said he can’t write…I really love the songs he has written! He has always It seems stood for his convictions and seems to be a very nice “normal”, ( though extraordinary) man!🇺🇸
Larry Norman, the guy who wrote this song was actually a deeply unrrated writer and performer. He was a very troubled individual and struggled as a Christian artist. But he did some great stuff and kept some great music away from the devil 🤟😉
He never "got rid of these guys". But Graham Jarvis was the band leader and when he died in ~1985, which I think was around the same time Martin Jenner moved to Australia, that kinda did put a hole in the band. In saying that he kept the vocal trio until one of them died in the 2000's. The "Rock In Australia" concert is the height of this band's achievements, and arguably Cliff's as well.
@all counties.... more like it’s the world we live in where accusations and gossip are rife, and sadly most people believe everything they hear!! Someone was bound to make allegations against Cliff eventually... when you point the finger remember, there are three more fingers pointing back at you!!
Love Cliff and his stand for Christ. The impact of what he mearnt for good, however should be considered. This is a song the music industry obviously listened to as influential independent new churches advocated the switch away from traditional hymns to introduce house bands nowhere near this talent level, instead of organs and choirs. Surveys show that a new generation no longer knows the tenet of the faith even as the christian music industry is huge. Too much of new music has drastically altered the concept of theology of personal sin, a need for striving for biblical standards and putting self last in a large part of lyrics focusing on what God does to make life beautiful only. Gospel music, which did not, was created by Tommy Dorsey, a black blues pianist in the thirties. Until pop and rock entered, black churches that intially refused his emphasis on the worldly rhythms of the juke joints, included classical music and hymns in every service.
@@bryanharrison5571no he is not! Where do you people come up with this stuff. He lives as all single Christians should…abstaining from sex outside of marriage. He has always lived with someone in his house…he doesn’t like living alone, never has. I personally admire his commitment and with it the Lord has blessed him greatly--because he has pit Him 1st in everything. There is no winning with folks like you!
He has had some association with Jehovah's Witnesses in his past and they have mixed feelings regarding rock music. There is no ban on it but they have published articles in their literature that don't particularly encourage listening to it.
@@ellenekanem He was contemplating becoming one at one time. I think his mother and his sister did, his fellow band members Brian Locking and Hank Marvin certainly did.
@@ellenekanem I remember when there was another Awake article on music videos in which Michael Jackson apologized for making the "Thriller" video, which was considered by many to be demonic, as he himself was a Witness at the time. Cliff has never taken drugs but then again he is more of a pop star than a rock star really.
It breaks my heart to see who Cliff was & the life he is living now. We are all sinners saved by grace (before anyone jumps on me). However, when he was interviewed & asked why he's living with a Roman Catholic priest & refused to answer, I thought, he may be innocent but he was giving the impression that he had something to hide. I thought of the verse in 1 Thessalonians 5 verse 22, "Keep yourselves from all appearance of evil doing".
I think many christians would come back to churches if gospels were sung with so much heart as Cliff did.
This is RARE n' ROCKIN' Cliff at his absolute best. Utterly Brilliant.
How good is this! Growin' my hair long to make room for my brain! Jesus is the rock and he rolls my blues away!

His best band and oh how I love this cliff era! Why he got rid of these guys I never understood! I'm not religious but a great song!

Yes
AND THE ANSWER (to the question) IS...because it belongs to him.
Rock and roll belongs to the church. The devil tried to steal it.
@@donmcc6573 AMEN!!! See Blind William Johnson!
👏👏👏👍👍👍🙏🙏
nice cliff hall on piano
Gloria Lobigas, yes roll it away Cliff.
,👍👍👍👏👏👏
He dances like Tina Turner !!!
Basically saying you can be a Christian and the possibility of still like rock and roll music at the same time.

Your music history needs a little work.
Great stuff Cliff. A bit of Mick Jagger there.
One thing the devil didn’t get is Cliff !
He may have got Black Sabbath but he didn't get Cliff lol.
Amen!!
cliff is an admitted homosexual. you sure?
That's debatable. Good friend of Ronnie Kraym

Does nobody here realize this is a remake, and who Larry Norman is?
Why should The Devil Have all the good music?
because he can ; )
But he shouldn't.
He doesn't.
Is that Gilbert O’Sullivan in the choir?
The ‘likes’ are currently at 666... 😂
This is a cover song, but it seems to me not too any people know it her, the original came from Larry Norman, fsther of christian rock n roll music !!

Sir Cliff nearly joined the JW?

Sorry, but to a bible believing Christian, they DON"T mix. I love rock music, but it ain't music that exalts Jesus. Lyrics aside!
And yet, it exalts Jesus all the time.
