      Hi Lisa, I appreciate it very much that you watched this video and for your sharing and kind comment. It helps to know one is not the only one on earth going through an experience. 🙂 You have a lovely channel and you are doing amazing interesting things with your stamps. I am sure you are already enjoying a major part of your stamp collecting endeavours and other things you want to do will follow suit. But life is frequently filled to the brim and can be a bit overwhelming. I really appreciate that you were here!

    You are going to have so much fun organizing all of those stamps! I find sorting to be a great way to relax. I'm not a stamp collector, but I can definitely see how this would be wonderful. I can't wait to hear about your progress! 🥰

      Hi Rene! Welcome here, and thanks again so, so much for watching! Sorting can be fun and very relaxing, one should just get your mind right and go into that "zone" and attitude, but the stamps in themselves are wonderful to work with, so it is easy. 😊🥰

    You are very well organised! And you have made an amazing start. It’s also definitely worth investing in catalogues, even old ones - they can pay for themselves and make organising your collection more fun!

      Hi Richard! Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it. On the surface I organized the stamps fairly well, but underneath I don't know what stamps I have at all and it feels to me like chaos. I am looking forward to sorting and organizing, and getting to know everything so much! 🙂

    Catching up, Charnie. I hope you don't mind if I give you a tip...avoid those cardboard covered Chinese stock books. They are OK for short time but not for long time storage.
    BTW I have a massive collection from Malawi. I can send you some if you like.

      Hello Rick! I love and appreciate it so much when someone gives me advice and tips!!! Especially when it comes from experience. One cannot find such knowledge in books! I will keep in mind that Chinese stock books are not good enough quality for long term storage of stamps!!!!! Thank you, and thank you again for my huge gift that is on its way!!!!!

PS: Do you have New Zealand DAVO albums?

  • @juliebooton1360
    @juliebooton1360 11 месяцев назад

    Wow! I can't believe how many stamps you have amassed over the past year. What an adventure it will be sorting through them all! I have two albums that I have put together - UK and world stamps. I am currently working on my USA album. I am putting them on black loose leaf stock pages, in binders, for maximum flexibility and have them in chronological order. This seemed the most logical thing to do. However, I can see that topical collections probably have more impact on the page and can still be chronological. I do have several pages of wilder and machin stamps in value order and UK Christmas stamps. I think I will do more of this moving forward. Thank you for another great video!

    • @GreatStampAdventure
      @GreatStampAdventure  11 месяцев назад

      Hi Julie, firstly, thank you so much for watching and for your comment! It sounds like you are already well on your collecting journey. I agree with you, using loose Hagner? pages in binders is the ultimate for flexibility. Maybe I should also consider that again seriously. At the start I have to use stock books, because I could buy quite a lot of them second hand and very affordable. Hopefully I will be able to have some collections going in the stock books. It would be nice to be as far as you are already, but I am also really enjoy the sorting and ordering of the stamps to get there. Why did you choose the US and UK? Are you living in one of these countries? Enjoy your week and collecting very much! 🙂

    • @GreatStampAdventure
      @GreatStampAdventure  5 месяцев назад

      @@TheUndecidedFrog 🤣I am not exactly sure how many are in a batch. The size of the batch depends on the size of the lot I bought. I think the first three lots I did was about 3000-4000 stamps? They were all off paper, and I largely sorted into countries, no further yet. One batch of NZ stamps (I am busy with at the moment) has about 2000 stamps, and I sort them into design and denomination (the "same" stamps together). But the batches might be rather more than less stamps than what I estimate. 😄🙂
