The fact some of these visuals get so terrifying later on makes it so much more relatable and understanding to why some people with dementia look at some of their family members with so much fear. They literally look so disturbingly different in their eyes.
What I love about this is just how personal it feels. A lot of other visual albums have these bustling cities, grand ballrooms, and all kinds of big activities going on; this one is just...calm and small. Things going on at home and otherwise really insignificant moments to everyone but the one experiencing that moment make it feel like this is an actual person's memories and not a documentary on a town or something.
despite how dark the subject matter of eateot is, this tiny little moment starting from 6:15:38 until the terminal lucidity phase starts is prolly the most perfect sounding audio i’ve ever heard. it makes me feel like i’m meditating in a peaceful garden of eden like environment, it honestly feels like at least an hour when i rlly listen to it

This puts it it better perspective for me. Everything just repeats, and as he's living through his life after his diagnosis, he keeps going through his memories, over and over.
Cause let's be real; you find out you will forget everything. You will forget that you can't remember. So, while there's mind, there's time to just remember over and over. Ruminating, but as dementia progresses, pieces are cut out, or completely warped. It's still the same, but horribly disorganized.

I honestly think that this is one of the better visual version out there. It has such a sense of relatability, and by the creator filming their own family, you get feel a connection to each song and each memory. Seeing people such as the wife in Stage 1 looking all distorted and shadowy in Stage 3 was so much more terrifying and really added to the story. Stage 1 was excellent and each visual stayed true to the song names, and introduced us to the characters we would be forgetting. Stage 2 followed its own story, and the D5 made me tear up quite a bit. Stage 3 had the perfect level of distortion, with the visuals still recognizable, yet foggy and distant. Stage 4 was great, because it used previous visuals we had seen previously but they were hard to make out through the distortion, and the hell sirens were horrifying, showing the family members faces all warped and creepy. Stage 5 somehow had so much detail, each little sound of Stage 5 had its own visual: the whistling and voices were faces that flashed on the screen, the hell sirens that you could hear would actually show the Stage 4 visuals, and the clarity's were well made too. Stage 6, although basically being complete darkness, still had small objects, people, and memories you could make out through the fog. This is one of the best visuals I have ever seen, and it is severely underrated. Bravo to you!

Even though it is overdramatized, it really isnt. for us atleast. A demented person at those stages would be so confused of our world it would be terrified as we are of this visual version. And those faces during the hell sirens... Really depicts how the mind struggles to remember the good but when the terrors of the world are there it will make sure you do remember...

"Stairway to the Stars" at the very end always makes me cry. Having someone very close to me die in my arms, the song goes very well with every passing moment during that experience (ex: every "breathing crackle" in the song before it kicks up again is her agonal breathing and inability to just let herself go). Beautiful. I especially loved the usage of faces in the post awareness stages. My favourite (or notable) moments: Denial Unravelling (all): The change in saturation coming and leaving felt like the first intrusive unstoppable effect that I couldn't ignore. Burning Despair Does Ache (all): From this point all the way until stage 6, I felt consistently *angry* at everything. It starts with the shakiness and glitchiness here. Amazing. 2:27:00 I started seeing faces and fists in the white outlines. This may have been unintentional but since I saw many face related things overall I think it is pretty cool. 2:31:00 same as above, but far more obvious to me. Especially the left-most patch of white being a closed fist. Also during that whole section just mentioned, I *felt* like the camera was zooming in. On recheck it doesn't seem like that anymore. Hell Sirens faces are nightmares. I adored the colours in 3:28:40 to the end of stage 4. This is one of my favourite parts of the entire original album and this representation of it made me feel so warm. Stage 5 (3:36:13) effect in this first section is AMAZING. I could tell I was looking at *things* but I couldn't exactly tell what they were, and the more I tried the more I would end up seeing the other things, confusing me more. Absolutely nailed the state of confusion here. 3:44:20 faces 3:55:40 it felt SO GOOD to actually see humans here. I didn't even care if I couldn't tell anything about their details, the fact I could tell there were humans was a relief. 4:00:30 was when I realised there was nothing left in the visuals for me to "decipher". Everything was broken, nothing distinct able to be recalled (except parts later, but not full sections at a time). I spent the whole of the second half of synapse retrogenesis trying to work out what that memory was and couldn't tell at all. I got incredibly frustrated (in a good way) but I wanted to recognise it so badly. Stage 6's attention to detail is beautiful. The ending section in stage 6 is beautiful. btw the bliss state felt less blissful than the previous parts of Stage 4 imo.

I tried to make a 2 month continuity, so every other month one visual stage would release. So stages 1-3 took 5 months to make and the post awareness stages took longer to make because of motivation but in total this took just over a year to make

The fact some of these visuals get so terrifying later on makes it so much more relatable and understanding to why some people with dementia look at some of their family members with so much fear. They literally look so disturbingly different in their eyes.
What I love about this is just how personal it feels. A lot of other visual albums have these bustling cities, grand ballrooms, and all kinds of big activities going on; this one is just...calm and small. Things going on at home and otherwise really insignificant moments to everyone but the one experiencing that moment make it feel like this is an actual person's memories and not a documentary on a town or something.

Everything just repeats, and as he's living through his life after his diagnosis, he keeps going through his memories, over and over.
Cause let's be real; you find out you will forget everything. You will forget that you can't remember. So, while there's mind, there's time to just remember over and over. Ruminating, but as dementia progresses, pieces are cut out, or completely warped. It's still the same, but horribly disorganized.

I honestly think that this is one of the better visual version out there. It has such a sense of relatability, and by the creator filming their own family, you get feel a connection to each song and each memory. Seeing people such as the wife in Stage 1 looking all distorted and shadowy in Stage 3 was so much more terrifying and really added to the story.
Stage 1 was excellent and each visual stayed true to the song names, and introduced us to the characters we would be forgetting. Stage 2 followed its own story, and the D5 made me tear up quite a bit. Stage 3 had the perfect level of distortion, with the visuals still recognizable, yet foggy and distant. Stage 4 was great, because it used previous visuals we had seen previously but they were hard to make out through the distortion, and the hell sirens were horrifying, showing the family members faces all warped and creepy. Stage 5 somehow had so much detail, each little sound of Stage 5 had its own visual: the whistling and voices were faces that flashed on the screen, the hell sirens that you could hear would actually show the Stage 4 visuals, and the clarity's were well made too. Stage 6, although basically being complete darkness, still had small objects, people, and memories you could make out through the fog.
This is one of the best visuals I have ever seen, and it is severely underrated. Bravo to you!

The track "Long decline is over" is really very relaxing and scary at the same time. Clarity's moment in the track makes it possible to realize that there is still something in a wave of noise. Simply incredible!!!
Even though it is overdramatized, it really isnt. for us atleast. A demented person at those stages would be so confused of our world it would be terrified as we are of this visual version. And those faces during the hell sirens... Really depicts how the mind struggles to remember the good but when the terrors of the world are there it will make sure you do remember...
I was planning on watching this whole thing because i thought it was gonna be shorter than the musical. Then i looked at the time. I mean i still might
"Stairway to the Stars" at the very end always makes me cry. Having someone very close to me die in my arms, the song goes very well with every passing moment during that experience (ex: every "breathing crackle" in the song before it kicks up again is her agonal breathing and inability to just let herself go). The very end i can see her soul just... leaving her body lifeless.

This has to be one of the best representations of visuals of EATEOT i've ever seen, the final of stage 4 was so calm even after all the darkness

Beautiful. I especially loved the usage of faces in the post awareness stages.
My favourite (or notable) moments:
Denial Unravelling (all): The change in saturation coming and leaving felt like the first intrusive unstoppable effect that I couldn't ignore.
Burning Despair Does Ache (all): From this point all the way until stage 6, I felt consistently *angry* at everything. It starts with the shakiness and glitchiness here. Amazing.
2:27:00 I started seeing faces and fists in the white outlines. This may have been unintentional but since I saw many face related things overall I think it is pretty cool.
2:31:00 same as above, but far more obvious to me. Especially the left-most patch of white being a closed fist.
Also during that whole section just mentioned, I *felt* like the camera was zooming in. On recheck it doesn't seem like that anymore.
Hell Sirens faces are nightmares.
I adored the colours in 3:28:40 to the end of stage 4. This is one of my favourite parts of the entire original album and this representation of it made me feel so warm.
Stage 5 (3:36:13) effect in this first section is AMAZING. I could tell I was looking at *things* but I couldn't exactly tell what they were, and the more I tried the more I would end up seeing the other things, confusing me more. Absolutely nailed the state of confusion here.

3:55:40 it felt SO GOOD to actually see humans here. I didn't even care if I couldn't tell anything about their details, the fact I could tell there were humans was a relief.
4:00:30 was when I realised there was nothing left in the visuals for me to "decipher". Everything was broken, nothing distinct able to be recalled (except parts later, but not full sections at a time).
I spent the whole of the second half of synapse retrogenesis trying to work out what that memory was and couldn't tell at all. I got incredibly frustrated (in a good way) but I wanted to recognise it so badly.
Stage 6's attention to detail is beautiful.
The ending section in stage 6 is beautiful.
btw the bliss state felt less blissful than the previous parts of Stage 4 imo.

Rewatching the segment now, it's very good. I think I wouldn't have included it in the original comment though, because hell sirens are always spoken about a lot and I want to talk about segments less spoken about.

honestly the album is amazing and even though i spoiled most good parts and know stuff about the album it was amazing stage 1 shows characters that we will know and see at the end which we did, stage 2 showed how stuff was starting to show signs of alarming rates of congitive decline, and stage 3 showed how bad it was getting, stage 4 introduced us to the post awareness states and chaos and now the only music left is just in clarity/bliss moments (which the you did so good omg theres a reason why this took a year and its because of how this visual version is) and for stage 5 its just like stage 4 but with way more effort and colors and claritys and as we all know for stage 6, Post-Awareness Stage 6 is without description.
Needs more recognition.
Can i just say, long term dusk glimpses is so good, stage 3 is my favorite, and the visuals are really good and match the song names and vibes.

I tried to make a 2 month continuity, so every other month one visual stage would release. So stages 1-3 took 5 months to make and the post awareness stages took longer to make because of motivation but in total this took just over a year to make
