    Since this is a video for people with zero 3D printing experience, it should be said this does NOT work on RESIN 3D prints, as resin does not melt.

    Since you're already using a soldering iron, could you literally solder the buckle part to the heat-insert tip? That'd likely be MUCH hotter than the 200-240ish range you'd be melting the divots into the plastic with, so I'd think the solder joint would hold up since you'd likely be staying well away from 300c or higher, maybe even go out of your way to get some 400ish lead-free solder and you'll NEVER get anywhere near that hot to melt into plastics.

    Love this idea! Can you paste a link to purchase the 10 mm belt buckles? I think we might have another name for them in the US b/c I can’t seem to find them. 😢

      I have found them under the name chicago screws. Can't find the round soldering tips though, please let me know if you see those.

      @@amberelferink Can you post a link to Ali? I cant find flat round without a bevel. Or one without a flat head screw notch.

      @@neofactor I am going to post a link, but sometimes removes the comment with a link in it without notification. So if you don't see a comment below this, youtube removed it

      It seems it removes my link, but I also have luck searching 'flat rivet'. Then one side is often flat, and the other rounded. Then go for one where the flat side has the tube part

    I would have loved a link for purchasing. That said I have found the "belt buckles" under the name "chicago screws".
    I'm still searching for the round soldering tip set, please comment here if you find that

      @@amberelferink I was talking about the specific Button belt buckle pieces he bought on Ali - I cant find flat round without a bevel. Or one without a flat head screw notch.

      Looks like only he can add links in the description.
      All the ones I find have a slight bevel on the flat side... idk if that impacts anything or not... let me know if you try it, I will do the same.

    Anyone want to explain why this is better than adding a negative cylinder in Orca? It takes 20 seconds, doesn’t require cad knowledge, purchasing anything, or melting plastic.

    • @ZeroAlligator
      @ZeroAlligator 5 месяцев назад

      Correct, adding in the slicer and dropping them in during the print is the best way.

    Don't do this bad idea there is a way to do this if only he had the experience to do better, lead, and teach by example not by doing silly things like this!
