  • Single-use plastics are on the rise. While their average usage time is only 6 months, it takes more than 500 years for plastic products to decompose.
    At the current rate, global plastic production is projected to double by 2030 compared to 2015. We must stop using single-use plastics that are polluting our land, sea, and even our dining table.
    Demand companies to cut down on single-use plastic production for a greener and more sustainable future for all: act.gp/3nAEYdR

    GPGP is getting bigger in size. Despite of effort of Ocean Cleanup established by Boyan Slat, the main source of plastic wave is pumping from land. There has to be strong restriction in disposable plastic in global scale. We need newable energy based infrastructure to prevent further conflict such as climate refugee, war, and tension between nations.

      If we don’t have something then we don’t have to manage it at all. Another video shows that we should be using reusable bottles instead of single-use.

    • @lukeh3020
      @lukeh3020 3 года назад +2

      @@MsKTMvalley I don't disagree. But what is more realistic/impactful; using reusable bottles, or building better landfill infrastructure in countries who currently dispose of all waste directly to river systems? It's the latter by far. You also have to bear in mind that plastic is often has the smallest CO2 footprint of any packaging. Paper bags require 5 times the amount of energy to produce, so it's a poor trade off.

    • @NynNahh
      @NynNahh 2 года назад

      @@lukeh3020 I see where you are coming from. But paper bags, unless they get some coating treatment or get contaminated with food residue, can be recycled. And they also degrade easier than plastic. While there are plastics that are considered valuable to recycle, there are others like plastic film that will simply be tossed on landfills, find their way to the sea and/or be burned. Not to mention that sustainably managed forests are socially and environmentally responsible, and will be grown again.
      I personally believe that having less plastic in the oceans while using more energy is a good trade-off if we can source that energy in clean ways. I know there is no 100% clean energy, but evidently some are way less harmful than others.

    • @lukeh3020
      @lukeh3020 2 года назад +2

      @@NynNahh Of course that would be a good thing. But let's be realistic, it won't make any difference. The countries who put the most plastic in the oceans (China, Vietnam, Indonesia etc) still will. In developed countries it almost doesn't matter what plastic is used because it gets managed properly. In those three countries especially, it doesn't, so it ends up in the ocean.
      On your second paragraph - *if we can source that energy in clean ways. That's a big IF. Currently India and China get most of their energy from Coal, the dirtiest source of fuel. They currently cannot get all of their energy from clean sources, and it's this rather than plastic straws and cotton buds which will lead to environmental catastrophe.
      Look up 'our world in data' piece on mismanaged plastic waste and you'll see clearly where the problem lies.

    • @NynNahh
      @NynNahh 2 года назад

      @@lukeh3020 Sure. We can do both, as in, pressure for cleaner energy alternatives and also avoid wasteness on a personal level. I know that individually we can't make a change (as in, *me* not using a plastic straw at McDonalds today won't make them stop their use of plastic straws), but if we can collectively lower the demand that would be nice as well.

    Toyota Motor Corporation has committed an environmental crime and chemical genocide against the People of Russia. Look at these scales, 219,811 thousand cars with a defective fuel system were sold in Russia. “With prolonged use of a car with a crack, it may increase, which, in turn, can lead to leakage of fuel vapors, and in extreme cases (with a completely filled fuel tank), there is a possibility of fuel leakage,” Rosstandart explains. If we take the leakage of vapors and the fuel itself into one liter per day, then this is already 220,000 liters entered the atmosphere, which is 6,600,000 liters per month. Most likely, a liter per week evaporated somewhere, it was imperceptible even to the owner of the car, but this is 220,000 liters of gasoline, 880,000 liters per month, 10,560,000 liters per year. These are billions, trillions of cubic meters of air poisoned by gasoline vapors. And now let's see the harmful effects of gasoline on human health: 300 gr. gasoline spilled while refueling a car pollutes 200 thousand m3 of air. Inhalation of gasoline vapors causes dizziness, headache, feeling of intoxication, sleep disturbance, sweating, fatigue, causeless lethargy, slight muscle twitching, loss of appetite, agitation, nausea, vomiting, trembling of outstretched arms, muscle cramps. Light poisoning with gasoline vapors can occur after 5-10 minutes. human stay in the atmosphere with the concentration of gasoline vapors ranging from 900 to 3612 mg/m3.
