1971 GenX here. Got a stint 11 months ago. Growing old sucks. I survived "the widomaker" somehow. On blood thinners. Be careful it sucks. Bleed like crazy and never know it... or what you did to bleed. Its crazy. Good luck and positive vibes.
So glad you got through it! I am the same age as you and went through what you did at the age of 28. I thought I had strained a muscle in my calf and the pain in my chest I put down to indigestion. How wrong I was! I even picked up a burger on the way to the hospital such was my casual concern about the situation. The doctors told me that if I hadn't gone in at the time that I did then it might have been a different situation. Each clot that breaks off from the leg and reaches the lung is a let off as you will now know. My situation arose from a long flight with little leg movement coupled with the genetic Factor V Leiden issue I have. My whole family got checked out and a few of them including my Dad have it. All of us are on Warfarin now. Stay safe and keep up the good work!

Flesh is temporary, Retro is forever! Im 51 brother, we aren't getting younger. I do work in the medical field and yes. Clots can kill in seconds if it lodges in the wrong spot. Glad to see you on the mend. Get yourself better first then we can continue on our journey!
@@retroconsole_ no they are not, depends on the cause, what uneducated BS. I've had DVT and multiple PE 3 times, caused by a hereditary blood disease (Factor V Leiden), and have eaten well and exercised my whole life.

That's crazy. I was at the ER 2 weeks ago, and the guy on the other side of the curtain had the same exact thing, and the dr even told him the same thing.

1989 Millennial here. By God, am I glad you went to the doc when you did. I'm realizing myself lately that the mantra of "Your Body Is A Temple" is a lot more important than I always thought. I certainly love hearing from you about the Atari years before I was born, and you got a lot more to tell everyone, so props to you there. I'm doing a lot more for my own health now before it becomes a bigger issue when I'm your age, and I tell everyone in my generation to do the same. Good luck with your recovery and keep on keeping on.

Prayers for ya buddy! I had DVT back in 2011, found out I had Factor V Leiden. Blood clots are no joke, and yes, the pain is extreme! Prayers for a speedy recovery!

I had a DVT, it’s a ticking time bomb. Glad you are still with us.
Dang! I'm sorry you went through that. So glad you got through it. I'm recovering from hyperparathyroidism and a tumor on my thyroid which could have killed me if I hadn't had the surgery, so I understand.

Don’;t mess around with blood clots… you can definitely can die from them. I had a friend from high school died of blood clots. She was in her 40’s at the time. Glad to know you are okay.

I'm sorry to hear about your battle with blood clots. I'm glad you're recovering well and will be back with new content soon. Deep vein thrombosis is caused by inactivity in your limbs. You need to keep those legs limber whenever you can.
