Thank you for the video! I am also doing this challenge I've started it around 2 years ago. Your videos help me find books easily thank you! I've read "A land without Jasmine" by Wajdi al-Ahdal for Yemen. I recommend. It's a weird short mystery novel
This sounds interesting. I know very little about Yemen. Often, before I read a novel from a country I don't know about, I get a book from the library in the "Cultures of the World" series. It's in juvenile nonfiction and is written at a middle/high school level. It gives an overview of each country with chapters on Geography, History, Economy, Culture, Food, etc. Sort of like a fleshed-out Wikipedia article. I find these helpful to come into the story with some background.
Great idea! Sometimes I actually enjoy experiencing and reacting to the books without much context, but other times it feels really necessary to enjoy certain books.
