- "127 North" by Caspian off of Castles High, Marble Bright out now on Triple Crown Records.
"127 North" is the sound of 6 guys playing in a room together on a Friday afternoon, and is in some ways the least ambitious thing we've ever committed to tape. Free from the grip of over arrangement, overdubs, click tracks, excessive chin stroking and the like, "127 North" is what a Caspian song sometimes sounds like in its infancy. It's a vulnerable moment for us to introduce people to a song that exists in this kind of limbo, somewhere between improvisation and a fully composed piece of music. It's an honest moment and all a part of the process, of course. Maybe it's time to invite people behind the curtain a little... there's some old couches, a few beers and maybe a few high fives back here waiting for you. Some days are less serious than others, and that's quite alright with us.

Thank you for being you Caspian. These are like little autumnal gifts. I'm not having a good orbit around the sun. This helped.
Same feels friend
Caspian's music communicates a very deep and meaningful message, one that seems to give permission to reconcile and make peace with all of the horrific injustice that permeates reality.
This song gives me back the innocence of childhood once again, like almost every song of that band, and it's what we all need in these awful times. Seriously, Caspian is as magical and comforting as a Hayao Miyazaki anime.
I feel like a child again when I hear this song.
It's almost like I'm getting younger, I can't describe it
What a beautiful song.
This feelin everytime I heard ur song guys.. really.. Thnx!
Very uplifting, and I love the raw sound.
i am gonna to be honest : it's BRILLIANT as usual !! It is an honor to be fan of you guys ! Merci beaucoup !
damn, this sounds like the four trees 2. good shit good shit
MsUberPenguin my thoughts exactly
Could call this song Book X
Another home run. Thanks.
wonderful
great vibes :)
loving it, hoping for a new more mature and cool "four trees" album like this tune.
El post rock es muy hermoso
Heart wrenching in the best way. Thanks for releasing this, fellas.
The more I listen to it, the more it becomes one of my favorites.
It's like a nesting doll. The more I unpack, the more impactful this song is to me. God damn.
Layers upon layers. This song hurts. This song feels incredible.
Let's take another spin. Misery and ecstasy.
Taking another trip down this song. Rip my heart open.
Absolutely beautiful! The only thing i feel it's missing is a bit of Cello, & a Choir.. still perfect otherwise. Maybe consider doing this in a live setting
:)
I'm going to be honest here, not really feeling it. Starts off with a bland riff and the rest is just dull and workmanlike post-rock. The more organic and heavy sounding instrumentation from the last album is missing too. I think Caspian was trying to capture the sound of The Four Trees but completely sucked out the exhilarating speed, melancholy and hopeful joy out of it. Gotta say, Pretty disappointed.
idk how you didn't get "hopeful joy" from this track but oh well
Everyone is certainly entitled to their opinion but like my mom said, 'if you don't have anything nice to say....' For a completely unexpected gift from this amazing band, thank you. I love it.
Read the description, they say that this song is kinda like how early versions of Caspian songs sound like, without the elaborate productions and all that.
To be honest, Caspian ARE just bland by the numbers post rock, very little interesting about it at all.
I completely disagree, but also recognize and appreciate differing opinions. Some think that God is an Astronaut is the end all be all of post-rock, and they bore me to tears. Different strokes.
