    Perry to Taylor at 8:40 : "The world is really happy that you existed. I love your music. I love you man, but I really love your music." 😐Keep rocking up there Taylor. Heaven is going to be electric.

      @@Ghostwriter78 Right? Yeah, it's special when some like Taylor looked up to Perry Farrell(front man of my favorite band Jane's Addiction and founder of Lollapalooza) goes to his shows as a kid. Pay's his dues by playing in dive bars, touring with Alanis Morrissette. Then becoming the drummer of Foo Fighters for 25 years.
      So it comes back full circle when Perry appreciates Taylor and is glad to be his friend. In words of Stuart Copeland, "Taylor was a a big fanboy of his favorite bands (ie: Queen, Rush, The Police, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen etc...) he sometimes forgot that he himself is great." And in return he got to play with them and in most cases be there friend. Because they guy was such a great hang who could get along with anyone. That is special and rare nowadays in the world of art and music. 🤘🥁🎵

    People don't realize but Jane's Addiction paved a path and kicked open a door for a whole new generation of rock bands. They escaped hair rock and allowed for punk to become more acceptable and mainstream.

      agreed

    • @SonicVisionX
      @SonicVisionX 4 года назад +7

      I disagree with this statement about them paving the way for punk. They were a great band, but much more an Art Band than punk, even the XXX record. Their big hits were "Jane Says" which was acoustic and "Been Caught Stealing" which was very poppy. Great band but the door was already open by then for "punk". BTW, all that crack Perry smoked has apparently left its mark...

When you went to a concert you were seeing the artist for the first time and it was a rush. The only time you may have seen them was on MTV and only when you could catch it. So when you saw them live it was magical!

    Perry just said “Taylor , the world is really happy your in it” (something like that…
    This is one of the most vital thing we all need be aware of. Be kind and tell how much you love, care about, find to inspire you or those around you. Tell them NOW , never wait because you’ll be at the funeral soon wishing you had said something, anything to the ones we live! Even kind words of support from afar (like a fan saying you changed their life for the better just through their music.)
    One love, many many blessings to you all! You are all loved by someone or at least your pets!

Nicely achieved! 👍

    Unfortunately, Jane’s will never get the credit they deserve. In fact, the entire underground scene (from post 70’s punk to right before the breakout of Nirvana) that was overshadowed by early-mid 80s pop trash and late 80s-early 90s hair metal, will never the credit it’s due either. Starting with the beginning of hardcore like Minor Threat, Black Flag and Bad Religion to bands like Jane’s and the Pixies, and everything in between, it was an incredibly special time for music that mattered.
