The actress that plays Trixie (Scarlett Estevez) was under contract with Disney. She was simultaneously on a Disney show (Bunk’d) and could only be available when she wasn’t filming for Disney.
21:06 After Chloe tricks Rogers into confessing... Lucifer: "I don't care what the critics say, you *do* have range!" Chloe: Lauren's portrayal of Chloe as a mediocre-but-rather-full-of-herself actor here is just perfect, and diametrically opposed to Chloe's character in the rest of the series. That's part of what makes this episode so fun!
And to really blow your mind, the actor who plays Chloe's dad is married to the actress who plays Maze! And the joke about it looked like the car chase scene was filmed in Vancouver is because Fox filmed Lucifer in Vancouver. Just wait until seasons 4-6 jabs against Fox! 😂
Season 4 on Netflix gets right to it....next episode starts off a whole new Lucifer run! You were right, Neil Gaiman was the voice of god on this episode. He was the creator of the character originally and seemed to have no problem where the new writers took his vision. There are a few nods to his original vision...Maze is more like Neil Gaiman's version in this episode. There was a nod to Vancouver where the first 2 seasons were filmed. Happy Thanksgiving! We had ours up here in Canada last month. I'm here in Toronto where it's about -4 Celsius and I'm drinking a Molson Dry to get some anti-freeze in my bod. I'm looking forward to your next reaction to the series....the next episode is where we get Chloe back on board. Cheers!
Watching this between two wackadoo workdays as a pick-me-up in a nice café over a latte and salmon-filled breadroll sandwich. I loved this episode with all its what-ifs and all the differences in characters. Lucifer & Amenadiel back to where they started and some positive characters getting a little tarnished. Shows how easily it can happen. And recent scandal aside, I would gladly listen to Neil Gaiman reading the phone book. He has such a great narrating voice. Really looking forward to the next season with more characters to love and loathe (and I really loathed one of them 😂). All in all, I've rewatched this series more times than I would care to admit, still do, but I am starting to wonder whether it will age well.
I know it's suppose to just be a fun episode with them basically ending up in the same place but as someone who's friend went into law enforcement to become a detective it's not something you just show up an apply to. Gotta work your way up the ladder for several years before you can make detective so Chole is not gonna be solved cases for a long while but more like handing how speeding tickets and a basic patrol/beat cop for several years.
"... although strangely it looked a lot like Vancouver to me." A funny nod to this show's first 2 seasons being filmed in Vancouver, along with numerous other shows and movies.
That music you asked about at the beginning of the episode was 'Fox on the Run' by 1970's British Glam Rock Band 'Sweet'. Could be seem as a sly 'FU' to Fox for cancelling the show.
After watching this episode, I thought that God never intended to manipulate Lucifer by putting Chloe in his Path and no matter what alternate universe they are in , they will fall in love.... ❤❤❤ Neil Gaiman, creator of Sandman & of Lucifer, is the "voice" of God.
I don't know his voice, but it might as well be Neil Gaiman, since he wrote the original comics, the facemasks Maze use is canon for the comics as well, wich is kinda cool, she has her own little sect.
After Season 3, the next seasons are such a breath of fresh air. It's still Lucifer but a leaner, juicier cut, much like the muscles Tom acquired in Season 4😅
That was a crazy episode and just keep it in mind like a fanfiction. So we stopped regulary with chloe seeing the devil face and that is where netflix tapped in. The last 2 were just Bonus. ❤ love your reaction and my drink was Milk cause i am tired and hope to wage up and i never enjoyed Coffee, so... cold milk it is today 😅😊😂
Yeah it is over the top and wackado, but it kind of reinforces the overall message that has been building = it's not about what scenarios God purportedly creates, it's about the individual choices each makes that puts them into their predicaments. And that God only has to manipulate one teensy little detail to drastically affect the course of things. Lucifer said as much to Ella in the finale when he said he didn't think his father did much of anything, that we cause all the good and bad things ourselves. And of course your excellent insight into the bookends notion, which I had not seen. Plus if this was the end, all the fan's favorite characters got to shine once more.
Comment before watching. This episode is perfect as an in-between season episode and considering the change of network/production its a fun one. Will be back after watching.
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! We went to visit my wife's mother and sister and had a nice time - just a four of us but we had a traditional TG meal with turkey etc. Sadly back at work now. 😞 Neil Gaiman is voicing God in this one, btw.
Now buckle up for the Netflix era! Better cameras, better writing, and a more muscular Tom Ellis. I won't say which one I'm more excited to notice again.
I love the butterfly effect in this episode, but my biggest problem with the episode... is God. He effectively creates an entire universe to justify himself to us, the audience; to make the point that "I just want what's best for my kids". But he tells *US* this. He never tells Lucifer any of this at any point. Doing what's best for your kid, when you know your kid doesn't understand why -- especially if they're grown up -- and *not* communicating your reasons to them is just bad parenting. "I see you don't understand why I'm doing this, but I won't explain it to you, just do as I say." Like... no. Communication, including explanation and reasoning, are super important in any social interaction and any relationship. Parent/child relationships just as much as romantic ones. Com. Mu. Ni. Cate!
"Who is narrating?" OMG you don't know Neil Gaiman's voice the second you hear it like the rest of us superfans?? FOR SHAME! j/k Yeah that's Neil Gaiman, he created this version of Lucifer
To: Anna. Thanx for the lucifer ride, but now is the time we part ways for now, as this was where my journey with the show ends. I will dropping back in for the 2 episodes I have seen post FOX which are s4e6 and s5e10, however until then this balcony is closed.
"That's a Firefly treatment, right there." Truer words were never spoken. Thank goodness for Netflix.
The actress that plays Trixie (Scarlett Estevez) was under contract with Disney. She was simultaneously on a Disney show (Bunk’d) and could only be available when she wasn’t filming for Disney.
19:16 When Ella gushes over meeting her, Chloe's head and eye rolls and her "yeah, I've got it, I'm so awesome" expression are hilarious.
God (voice) Neil Gaiman (Creator of Lucifer in the Vertical comics and co-writer of the episode).
Directed by Dan (can you believe it?)
Detective Douche
Vertigo imprint, not Vertical. Sandman was superb. Gaiman really is a comics god.

Kinda a shame about the recent allegations tho
21:06 After Chloe tricks Rogers into confessing...
Lucifer: "I don't care what the critics say, you *do* have range!"
Chloe:

Netflix announced it after this episode aired. And all i will say is the show gets better for it.
Nope. The guy who plays the Younger version of Chloe’s dad is the guy who’s married to Maze.
@javieruranga9028 my mistake, thanks for the clarification! 😊

I also like the WB "water" tower in the background... Always wonder if IRL Yakko, Wakko, and Dot are chilling out up there.

God is played by Neil Gaimen the creator of the Lucifer character in Sandman which this one is based
Sorry heard your comment later
LOL. ''no more Cains!''
That music you asked about at the beginning of the episode was 'Fox on the Run' by 1970's British Glam Rock Band 'Sweet'. Could be seem as a sly 'FU' to Fox for cancelling the show.
Hey the race driver was wearing 'Top Meet' sponsorship :-) Never noticed that before.
This is the ONLY Lucifer episode I've only watched ONCE.
With Netflix we will go down the rabbit hole 😈😈😈😇😇😇
After watching this episode, I thought that God never intended to manipulate Lucifer by putting Chloe in his Path and no matter what alternate universe they are in , they will fall in love....
❤❤❤
Neil Gaiman, creator of Sandman & of Lucifer, is the "voice" of God.
With Bodycams and security cams, i'm surprised anyone can steal anything from a police station
And now back to our regularly scheduled programming.
I don't know his voice, but it might as well be Neil Gaiman, since he wrote the original comics, the facemasks Maze use is canon for the comics as well, wich is kinda cool, she has her own little sect.
13:17. Chloe's leather pants :)

Thanksgiving was good and I'm glad yours was good
I'm not sure whether I realised before this that "God" is voiced by the real life God of the series, Neil Gaiman! A perfect casting choice! 😆🤣

Next seasons are awesome! 😊
Thank you for noticing the Lucifer/Ella relationship.

And began a long Fan driven campaign to Save the show and Netflix picked it up.
On, no! A little red Corvette!
I kinda feel bad that Charlotte literally ghosted Dan this season.

Stunt Awards wouldn't be fair. Tom Cruise would win every year.
