Thanks for the review. Can you do a comparison with the kd 15 . I have plantar fasciitis and kd 14s work great for it . Wondering how the cushion in the 15s and lebron 20s match up against each other. What's better for your feet . Thanks again for the content.
Lebron has preferred lows for a few years now. A lot of times the NBA sees him wear his flagship model for a few games, the the playoffs maybe or warm ups but most often he switches to a low of the flagship(Lebron 19 low for example) or one of his less premium models wit a low cut like the ambassador. I’m not surprised to see Nike make this move. I think it was necessary to keep him in his flagship signature since he hasn’t been wearing them much on court in recent times
@bbv it’s due to the new innovations in his later model designs not being best for his style of play. The 15, the air bubble was too big so they had to make him a custom midsole mold with an outrigger. The 16 he played in most of the season as well as the 17 where he switched to the lows in the post season. The 18s had too much cushion and didn’t give him the springy feel he likes when on court and the 19 was way too unstable. So over the past few years Nike has used their innovation team to help keep Lebron in his signature models by putting all the things he liked into this one. He likes a lower feeling shoe with good cushion that’s low to the ground so he feels stable, but has a nice spring back. Supportive materials for the amount of force he puts on a shoe when cutting to keep him from sliding over the footbed. All of these are key components that are present in most of his signature sneakers and the ones where it isn’t, he wears a lower tier option. ex ambassador, soldier, witness, etc And he probably could play in converse but I’m sure since Nike gave Lebron a lifetime deal, they’re definitely gonna continue to put as much tech in his shoes as they can in order to make that undisclosed amount worth every Penny
@bbv a professional player making millions of dollars per year signed by the biggest sports brand in the world to play on the highest level in the world… And if you think 48 mins of intense play at the peak of human performance is a small feat, I would like to see the accolades you carry from such a task. He’s the greatest player in today’s game so I think the comfort and performance of arguably the most important accessory that a player can have should be a priority. Just like humans have developed from walking around in sandals made from tree bark and twigs, the world of footwear evolves in sports on an even more drastic scale
I think zoom and zoomx are pretty much the pinnacle of Nike but they will never admit to how much of a gimmick all forms of visible air/air max are and were.
@@jsun3117 Most of the old visible / air max were junk and provided no feedback because they all packed out especially when they were bottom loaded or embedded below hard board lasting. The only exceptions were the Air Max units with the large inner middle chamber and the big surrounding chamber that were in the Air Pennys and a few other models, those you could actually feel and give feedback.
Great review! It seems like a smart pivot for the Lebron line. I wonder if the popularity of the Kobe line and even the GT Cut in the NBA and below influenced this pivot. I can't help but think his sons' preference on shoe type influenced this as well. They've been wearing these in recent weeks, instead of the other low tops like Kobe's, they've worn in the past. For me personally, this is the first Lebron I would seriously consider playing in.
Probably more to do with LeBron liking to play in the Ambassador line (particularly him playing int the 13s a lot last week) and him feeling that things just got too crazy with the cushioning in the 19

Very informative and helpful review, as always, thanks Doc! Would You recommend those for volleyball? Or Maybe TRC, 36 lows f.e (maybe something else) will be better option? Im looking for some low top with a bounce and containment, but great traction (especially on dust) is crucial for me. I've already tried KD 15 but the fit wasnt for me.

I like that the 20s are a lower cut, and have so much softer materials around the ankle collar. The 19s I have keep putting holes in my high socks because of the rough plastic around the collar. The air bubbles on the 19 have really grown on me though 😅
I grabbed two hi's on sale for $90 ea without knowing about the chafing problem. So I bought some $1.50 adhesive felt from Hobby Lobby to apply the shoe collars, problem solved.

In terms of a low top playing like a mid top, or a mid top that plays like low top, I would vote for Puma MB.01. I just don’t quite agree with the hype that this is the unicorn. hey doc, I'm 9 months off an achilles tear, and trying to get back into basketball. Wondering if you have any suggestions for shoes? I used to play in curry's, and I tried the curry 10s, but they force me to be on the balls of my feet (by the curve at the front) too much for comfort now. I'm not sure if I should be going for something a little less responsive, or stick with the court feel. I'm a light guard for reference.
liked your vids and subcribed your channel! im finding lightweight, high protection and bouncing shoes for guard, would be great if it can be used for daily outdoor. do you have any recommendation?
Lebron xx trinity or jordan 37 low bred im 6'2-6'3 230 to 240 lbs. Play 1 to #3 positions but do mostly like to play shooting guard shooter type player/ ball handler / slasher. What would you recommend
If you struggle with Achilles tendinitis will the ankle collar in the back aggravate it. I can’t wear some shoes because it rubs in the back or the heel cup is too hard. I can wear shoes like the curry 9 and the puma Clyde all pro and feel no pain in my Achilles at all. Just curious for your opinion
Id say they'd probably annoy you but after they broke in maybe improve - the molding is nice it just depends where you have the most disease along the course of the tendon
I have a question regarding this and all basketball shoes overall. I had some achilles and ankle issues this year and when I consulted with several professionals regarding the issue, they advised me to find a shoe that has a flat sole, as the lifted heel causes the achilles to shorten over time. After doing some research, only the Kobe low shoes (after his achilles injury) have a flat sole. Any suggestions?
Get an ankle sleeve. Something that has straps on it but not an restrictive ankle brace. Adidas have speed wraps which are perfect too. You might want to get a different insole. I like the walk hero insole. I get mine from Amazon. Try wearing double socks too. The last thing that could be an issue is forefoot zoom air shoes could be irritating your Achilles and ankles. Your feet might be pronating which means your foot rolls inwards. I don’t know what a flat shoe has to do with it but those should be some fixes for Achilles and ankles issues. Also low tops are not your friend with these issues. You the ankle sleeves will help keep the Achilles warm. A shoe with higher material will help keep the Achilles warm. It’s a tendon and it’s tough to get good blood flow there and make sure to warm up. Listen to your body. That’s why after Kobe Achilles injury in the low top Kobe 8 the Kobe 9s he wore were super high and had a carbon fiber heel cup. Now you want to lengthen the Achilles back out and make it stronger so you want to do calf raises and stretches. Try to do calf raises on a step so you can get full range of motion.
I normally wear a size 14 but think a 14.5 would be perfect, could I get away with a size 15? Should basketball shoes be tight or have space in the toe box area?

Cannot wait for the review of Either Peak Taichi Flash 4.0 from PEAK or AG 3 PRO from 361, those are 🔥💯
If you struggle with Achilles tendinitis will the ankle collar in the back aggravate it.
@@FootDoctorZach thank you 🤝
I have a question regarding this and all basketball shoes overall.
So these have better traction than the Kobes and Kyries u tried?
I normally wear a size 14 but think a 14.5 would be perfect, could I get away with a size 15? Should basketball shoes be tight or have space in the toe box area?
love your content

Thanks! I have a video on that currently actually
Hey Zach, I'm a 6' forward, I'm 15 and I'm looking for a shoe with good ankle support or cushioning, should I get the zoom freak 4 or Jordan 37 or any other shoe
I have flat feet. I don’t mind getting my TTS in Lebron 20 (I tried it on). Do you think I can get TTS in MB .02 or go up half size? How would you compare the fit between the two?
Hey @footdoctorZach what brand socks are you wearing in this video?
Bombas
Been waiting for this, I’m trying to decide between these and the WOW 10 since they’re about the same in price
Are the lebron 20 good for a shooting guard type playing style ?
Which is better lebron 20 or sabrina 1? Can’t decide what to choose..
20 - sabrina is cheap but not comparable on tech and comfort and performance.
Now, before buying a pair of shoes, I await your technical analysis. Many RUclips channels say the exact opposite but are limited to feelings or experiences. You go straight to objective facts. Nike is investing in the LeBron brand with tech designed for him on comfort and safety, but on children's playability models. Btw now I have the confirmation that I can buy them peacefully. Next pair waiting: kyrie 8.
Amazing work doc.
Thanks
Glad I could help- yeah also different reviewers look for different things as well - it’s good to get a mix of opinions because sometimes we all agree and others not so much but that’s what makes it fun
Love seeing sneakers cut in half .. so interesting to see the inside
another goated review!
Is the lebron 20 durable enough to handle indoor courts and outdoor courts?
indoor bro - buy a cheap shoe for outdoor
