I like how it goes from “chill death grips beats to study and relax to” to “cia advanced interrogation footage occasionally interrupted by music”
more like "Getting filed a lawsuit after seeing the entire world participate in shootings trying to pierce everyone's brains out and destroying buildings with bombs occassionally interrupted by music"
the pipeline is real
We're all lucky this man puts his energy towards music and art.
all three of them equally contribute to death grips but u right
We're lucky he decided to do music instead of transforming into a proverbial werewolf and turning the world to ash.
Yeah i mean this guy said in interviews that he's killed kids, old women, old men, gays, transves, all types of types, and had it not been for music he probably would have killed that too.
Death Grips is dangerous.
It's so weird in the entirety of possibilities on this earth we are all living in the same time in 2016 that they are still creating art relating to their lives they live alongside us it's awesome
+ANGUSRAZE it was destiny
Stefan is such a fucking mystery, I just can't picture him doing normal shit at all.
Just picture Ride doing something like eating a apple, its so surreal.
holy shit picture him grocery shopping
@@mxxicangirl ah! so sorry
imagine him getting gas or taking an elevator
Hey man, he’s human just like us. Not hard for me to picture him at the farmers market or something in a black shirt with his hood up. This video is a pure human expression, perfectly represents the feeling of losing your mother, I can relate.
People that have met him say that he behaves normally but just is a very private person. He’ll say hello or thank you if you go up to him but he won’t want to hold or carry on a convo with you
This is the actual creepiest Death Grips song

you know they specifically put that clean "IT'S DEATH" sample at the end for us to use
If you google the word black, the first search result is a Wikipedia page about the color black. The second search result is about black people. Both pages have mostly negative and unfortunate connotations. Black is associated with darkness, evil, violence, magic, the end and death. What's even crazier is I noticed this video was posted a day before 9/11 10 years after it happened.
In this song he says, "I'm not an actor." This is directed towards the director or the interviewer. I interpret this as him being genuine, he is not faking anything. He asks, "How long is it gonna take?" He's probably asking how long he'll be there performing in real time. I interpret this as him asking how long will the pain last? I think it is left vague on what is taking so long because it can be applied to a lot of suffering in the world that just seems to be everlasting. After he asks that, the video to the right starts playing of him walking through a graveyard. He says with long pauses in the middle of the sentence, "When... I don't know... This is stupid... I don't know what I'm supposed to say." Like he said, he's not an actor but he is still putting on a performance. And I'm guessing he just did what ever came instinctually to him. Punching the walls, screaming, laughing.
Come to your own conclusions, but this is true art. Everything in this has purpose and meaning. Nothing is immediately obvious. It challenges the viewer to think and look into it if they are curious. The only thing that drew me into it further were the lyrics "Google Black". There is even more that I do not know about this and Death Grips and many of us will never know, but one thing is certain to me and that is I sense suffering and madness.
it says that this was uploaded september 8th 2011 not september 10th
"how long is it gonna take?" Could also be referring to life. How much longer until I meet death? That's what I think it means
@@Amangiechsin You're right, my bad. So three days before 9/11.

I believe black google was the name of this homepage option by google. It made the homepage black instead of white, to save energy.
1:09 he finally finds it, suddenly. His first reaction is getting scared, he is shocked, tries to fight it... NO! NO! but it only gets worse and louder, he can't stop it.
He surrenders and accepts it.
Yeah...*silence* YEAH! YEAH! now it's in him.
I guess "it" is death since this is in a cemetery, he was scared of it but death is unstoppable, now he worships it 2:08

I'm sorry to disappoint you but it's noisy and chaotic as fuck.
Like, Hot Headx10
It would be cool if they released a dark trip-hop album like this
Add a more chaos and noise, and make it more threatening too when u switch up the instrumental in each of the nocturnal lofi and chill trip hop songs
This is actually really cool. It seems to me that this is a story that's being told specifically about death judging by the lyrics, but I probably am terribly wrong about this.
Either way, I wish they made more of these.
Nah it's about stefan
This is just some abstract ytp death grips just published
This video clearly shows the beginning of MC Ride losing control of his mental state and becoming paranoid. This is the origin of the character in The Money Store.

I'd be opening my arms for a hug cus the man needs one
I feel like if I saw him in public and told him I was a fan of his work he’d punch me, which is understandable from what he’s already said in interviews and such
@@d5rcy I mean Fantano called him Stefan straight up at a concert he saw him. Rides expression changed completely to angry to a smile and he said "Hey thanks for supporting us."
IMHO the song they used for this specifically, I guess it's called ''Black Google'' too, sounds like something that could have been in NLDW... while taking into consideration that they made 20 songs for that album but just released 13. Also, Zach himself told: ''It's striking us as the closest we've gotten to what our initial vision of what Death Grips would sound like.''
So, it wouldn't surprise me they used really old material (like this) and shaped it into what NLDW became at the end.
1:27 Stefan Burnett
1:29 MC Ride
A black screen.
UNKNOWN MAN (V.O.): You've been here for some time.
A closing door can be heard.
INT. DARK ROOM
RIDE is pictured in a box on the left side of the screen. He is sitting in a chair in front of a singular light. How much of the light is exposed varies based on the positioning of his head.
RIDE: I'm not an actor.
RIDE sighs. Shuffling and other bodily movements can be heard in the background.
RIDE: How long is it gonna take?
Scattered electronic music begins playing in the background. Simultaneously, a second visual appears to the right of the one depicting RIDE. It shows RIDE from behind walking through a graveyard at night.
RIDE: When... I--I don't know. This is stupid. I don't know what I'm supposed to say.
The left video feed begins to pan in on a closeup of RIDE. His face remains darkened.
RIDE: I don't know exactly when, how many times--
RIDE (V.O.): Black google.
RIDE's own voice, dubbed over the video, cuts him off. At the same time, the left video feed cuts to a zoomed out view of RIDE, the light source behind his head now revealed in full.
RIDE: Uhh...
The left video feed slowly zooms on RIDE's face. Cut to black. RIDE begins to scream out repeatedly. With each scream, an ambiguous image lights and then fades on the right side of the screen.
RIDE (V.O.): Yeah... Yeah.
Between each of RIDE's exclamations, raucous guitar and drums play briefly, then stop.
RIDE (V.O.): Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!
The right side of the screen cuts to RIDE in a nondescript room. With both fists bared, he charges at a wall. Just before his fists connect, the screen cuts away to a front view of his face and torso. Between each exclamation, cut to short clips of RIDE screaming and smashing chairs.
RIDE (V.O.): Rah! Yeah! Rah! Yeah! Rah!
An ultra closeup of RIDE's face is pictured left. He remains expressionless. Pictured right, a short clip of RIDE sitting in a chair, moving his hands wildly, and laughing manically plays and then disappears. Pictured left, the camera zooms out slowly to reveal RIDE's full face.
UNKNOWN MAN (V.O.): How long did it take to get to this place? ...To this place.
Pictured right, cut to a darkly lit hallway with plastic hanging from the walls. RIDE stumbles frantically along the hallway. The right side of the screen then cuts to black.
RIDE (V.O.): Google black. Google black. Google black. Google black. Google black. Google black. Google black. Google black.
Glitchy electronic music begins to play. Pictured right, a rear view of the room RIDE is sitting in pictured left appears. No one is sitting in the chair. Both sides of the screen fade to black. A full screen closeup of RIDE appears, lit with pink light. His face is raised upwards, his eyes are closed, and he is smiling.
RIDE (V.O.): It's death!

Coming back to this again and again since first heard of DG in 2013. Without a doubt these guys are among of my greatest ispirations, if not THE greatest one. The music and art are far ahead of it's time.
The beat switch up acc gave me Hella goosebumps 🤧
man my mom used to sing this to me when i was a kid
“I can’t feel my body... sometimes, but it’s always so... well, I remember you doing something to my eyes.”

This video or song is litteraly their transition for Exmilitary to The Money Store. I fucking love that.
This will always be top prime. One of the best.
Most underrated Death grips song
Not really, MC Ride (Stefan Burnett) is the only member who tends to stay in the shadows. Zach Hill is a pretty popular, well-known drummer check out his solo project and his other group Hella (math rock). Andy Morin is in charge of the productions and I've seen him in a few interviews.
Why must Death Grip's best tracks be the shortest ones
idk why but this song evokes an image of mc ride punishingly pushing Zach and Andy to make the music for him. like they're under his control and he ruthlessly drives them forward
😭
this is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen
Crazy how this kind of sounds like an excerpt from No Love or even Government Plates. The boys were ahead of their own time.

I just noticed that if you watch the gray bar or "progress bar" at the bottom of the video, the moment it passes the video split on screen (1:09) is when you hear the fist yell and the tone changes. I wonder if that was intentional or just a coincidence? Good shit though!
Totally intencional. It's a RUclips easter egg/reference for me what are you meaning
For those asking, black google means darkness (black) and that there will be a lot of it, or a google (googol) of it. A googol is the large number 10100; that is, the digit 1 followed by 100 zeroes: 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.
