Jenn, I’m so sorry you’re going through this. You have been such a source of comfort and inspiration for me through the pandemic, I’m a 3L and totally identify with the school/work stress, depressive episodes, loneliness, family health issues… I just really appreciate you sharing this time of your life, because it truly helps give people hope that these things are just inevitable phases of life, and that we are not alone in the struggle. Community is everything, so thank you for creating one here. Your mom raised awesome girls! I am thinking of you and your family❤️
I’m so sorry about your mom’s passing. Grief is such a hard thing. It’s not really a linear process. And I know “she’s in a better place” never makes it any better. But I want you to know that it does get easier. Not better, but easier as the days go on. Especially during times where you can feel her presence. It’s so comforting. If you haven’t sought therapy, I would highly recommend talking to a professional who won’t judge you.
Jenn, I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you for being vulnerable with us all 💕 I cannot imagine losing a parent during this transition phase in your life, from law student to associate. As someone who also graduated from law school in May and is making that same transition, I know it is already a difficult time. I am sending so much love and light your way.
Your grief process, however that looks for you, is completely valid. That heavy weight of sadness will lessen in time. It may never go away, because the hole a loss of a parent leaves is not able to be filled. You will slowly gain the strength to continue living. It helps me think of living as living out their legacy and making them as proud a possible. No advice anyone give here will be helpful or resonate right now possibly. Keep remembering how much you’ve endured and how strong you really are. Sending love and healing your way.
I’m so sorry about everything you’re going through! I hope you can continue your grieving process and find peace. Let us know if there’s anything we can do to help! Your community is here for you!
You have every right to feel the way you do now. Like you said, once you are actually in a routine of your new job, and probably working out regularly, there will be less time to think about things out of your control. Good luck with it all.
Thank you so much for always being so genuine with all of us. You have been such a comfort to me through the years you’ve been on RUclips, and to see you struggle breaks my heart! I’m sending you so much love and hoping for nothing but healing for the rest of the year
Sending you all the love and support. Grief is heavy. I’m a current 2L and grew up in arizona and you’ve brought me so much comfort over the past couple years. Thanks for sharing your life and these videos.
How you feel is part of the healing process, and like others have said, grief is not linear. There’s NOTHING wrong with how you feel. Even if you don’t realize it, you’re moving forward simply by trying. Sending good vibes your way ❤️
Sending you a big hug. Grief is a long and rollercoaster process. It doesn’t get easier, you just learn to live with it with time. You don’t have to go through it alone. Sometimes friends and family don’t help, it’s ok to talk to someone who specializes in grief.
You are incredible and extremely strong. I think it is amazing how open you have been and can only imagine the comfort you are bringing others in a similar situation. Keep up the amazing work you are doing fantastic, and know that all your people here on RUclips have your back!
Hey Jenn, I really feel for you and your family. Thank you for being so authentic and open, even though it must not be easy. Praying that you find peace and comfort during this time of grief. Just know that we're here for you, always in your corner 🧡
Jenn, I clicked on one of your videos over a year ago because I plan on going to law school and wanted to see a day in the life of a law student. I fell in love with your charisma and passion and have been a dedicated viewer ever since. I know your mom is beyond proud of everything you’ve accomplished and although we’ve never met I cried along with you as you explained your grief and pain. You’re an amazing and strong young woman who will continue to do extraordinary things. You don’t have to feel guilty about enjoying your new job and life right now as you maneuver your grief and conflicting emotions. Time heals all. Relax and keep moving forward because there are better times ahead.
Thank you so much for sharing your life, all sad and happy moments. I’m so sorry about your loss, I can’t imagine what you are going through. I’ll be praying for you and your family!!! You are so strong❤️
Completely and in every way rooting for you. It's okay if you don't vlog. But deeply grateful that you're choosing to. And congratulations on the new job!
Thank you so much for sharing such wonderful content and being so real with the world. You are an incredibly strong person, and sometimes even strong people need shoulders to cry on. Wishing nothing but the best for you and your family 🤍. Also, how the HECK do you stay motivated through this mentally taxing application process? No one around me gets it, and I feel like a crazy person when I rant about what I’m going through.
Jenn, I don't know what to say and nothing I say will make this any easier, but I want you to know that you are so loved by so many people. I am sure your mother is so so proud of you for the person you are and all that you have accomplished. We are all with you and we are supporting and rooting for you. It breaks my heart to see you so sad. Praying for God's peace, comfort and love on you and your entire family
So sorry that you haven't been feeling well, but it's only normal. My mom died of cancer a couple of years after I graduated from law school and it was maybe 5 years before I felt at peace. Let yourself grieve; maybe starting the job will keep you busy and take your mind off things. Thanks for taking the time to update us all!
oh Jenn --so sorry about the loss of your Mom, YOUR GOING TO BE OK -- your like in the middle of the "Grief Cycle" - ((depression and detachment)-- but YOU ARE dialoguing, and reaching out through this video - that's the next step actually - (your actually in the stage of "trying to find meaning" -- JENN, my friend -- YOU are exactly on schedule going through the grief cycle -- (there is NO time schedule to grief, but there is the cycle) -- but JENN you are well on your way to getting through this --- the next steps are "acceptance" -- and then "on to finding meaning once again, in your life" ----- I wish I could reach through the computer screen and give you a HUG --- and tell you -- "YOUR GOING TO BE OK" -- hang in there my friend , and thank you for vlogging during this difficult time --- and being real, your going to touch many people hearts
Sorry for the loss of your mother 💓 grieve for as long as you need. It’s always tough to lose someone near and dear to your heart. Law school question: How do I negotiate scholarship funds with schools?
I’m sorry you’re going through this Jenn! 😢 I lost my dad a couple years ago so I understand your pain. It gets easier I promise just give yourself time to heal and feel these emotions. You will get through this ❤️🩹
Jennnn! I am not sure how many times I will say it but I love seeing you on my feed. I know this season is a rough one for you and nobody has the answers and everything feels so blah but I pray you begin to find joy in the fact that your mother is no longer in pain and she is now your guardian angel. I pray God reveals more of Himself to you and you realize that this is a JUST a season and weeping will not endure forever. Joy truly does come in the morning. Congratulations on the new job! I hope it is everything you expect and more. I am not sure if you are in therapy or not but I think now would be a good time to give it a try. My first session is on Monday so we are in this together. EVERYONE is rooting for you Jenn! Cry if you need to. Things will get better ❤️🩹
I'm so sorry for your loss, Jenn. You are so strong and I know your mom is so proud of you! I will be applying to law school in the next few months. I have been out of undergrad for two years. My question for you about the application process is since I have been out of college, what things will admissions care about (besides LSAT score) or is there things I should touch on in my personal statement?
First, I am so sorry about your mom. I do not understand the feelings you are experiencing right now, but I can tell you that they are valid and you are doing the very best you can. Cry, sleep in, be kind to yourself. I am a huge advocate for therapy and believe that everyone deserves it. It may not be for everyone, but speaking to someone truly helped me when I needed it. When asking for letters of recommendation, what did you do? How did you approach that conversation? Did you write a letter or provide any supplemental documents (resume, personal statement, etc.)? Thank you!
Im so sorry unfortunately I know fully well what you are dealing with.Only one remedy for your pain-Time,time is the only cure just take it one day at a time otherwise you will get overwhelmed with emotions
Jenn, I am so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. There might not be much we as your viewers can do for you in this situation, but we are all thinking of you and your family. You have every right to feel everything you're feeling right now. If vlogging is what you are in the mood for, do that. If not - please take as much time as you need for yourself and your grieving process.
I am currently applying. My biggest question is any unique tips you have on choosing a topic, writing, and editing the personal statement! Thank you so much.
Are you going to also explain that the MLS - Masters degree in Legal Studies application process does NOT require the same as the JD. It always confuses people that the MLS and MLSO programs are at the actual law school. They are very good at taking my cash. I regret not staying home for higher education. You will always have grief just try and remember the happy times only. I want to move to Nashville but there rent is sky high for their wages.
You’re such a loving soul so it’s difficult to see you this way…I share with you Romans 8:18 “Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.” You are loved by many!!
Freddy G at eSporta on Tatum south of Cactus is a cool dood, but I doubt he would be a fit for you and that is a little far (he used to be at 24-Hour on Scottsdale Road south of Thunderbird but as you can see when you drive by - they tore it down. Close to you the only thing is Lifetime up on Mayo or the Jewish Community Center on Scottsdale but both = $$$. But whoa, can't wait to hear your "how I got a law job" vlog when you don't even know what your boss practices. That basically throws all interview advice out the window!
What are the best resources for comparing law schools you want to apply to? For example, I JUST learned that Yale law doesn’t do class rank and that classes are P/NP. How did I not know this… help
Sorry to hear that you're struggling. Grieving can be really draining. I want to work in politics and am considering law school, among a couple other options. Can you comment on how to know if law school is the right choice, or how you knew? I feel like the picture we get from fiction about what it's like is less than accurate.

How does it work vaguely? What are things to prep for? How does it work? Is it stressful? What are some important factors to consider?

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Should we realistically be expected to be offered financial aid once we get acceptances just like undergrad?
Who should I get letters of rec from? All profs? Intern supervisors?
When should you apply to law school if you hope to attend the following fall?
Question: How do you discover which law school is right for you or if law school in the first place is the right choice?
You’re such a loving soul so it’s difficult to see you this way…I share with you Romans 8:18 “Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.”

Are college extra curriculars important in the law school application process?
How long is the process for applying to a law school? Do I need to take the LSAT first then apply?
Law School Question!
Tours? Are the important as far as helping you get in to the program? If I don’t tour is that going to hurt me?

Do you know if they accept people who got their degrees from a college institution as opposed to a university?
I finish my MLS at ASU this DEC 2022 but I was NEVER happy with the Law school staff, they were quite awful.
aw im so sorry to hear that. Congrats on being close to the end!
What are the best resources for comparing law schools you want to apply to? For example, I JUST learned that Yale law doesn’t do class rank and that classes are P/NP. How did I not know this… help
P.S. I really appreciate you and your channel❤️

Try to shadow a lawyer for a few days if you can & talk to them about what they do day-to-day.
