- Filmed on March 14, 2016: Here will be a full tour (mini tour on observation deck) of the Willis Tower in Downtown Chicago, 1,353 feet hall skyscraper (103rd floor). Enjoy a ride on the Westinghouse/Schindler elevators featuring a view on top. This building used to be the Sears Tower till mid-2009. It was a shame that they just changed the name right when I first saw this.

I live in Louisiana and I visited Chicago in 1994. We actually stayed with family in Bloomington, Illinois and drove into Chicago for a day trip. I've always been in love with the "Sears " tower my entire life. Yes, I'm a skyscraper fanatic. But somehow after the long flight to St. Louis and the 2 hour drive to Bloomington and the drive from Bloomington to Chicago a few days later, my mind was somewhere else I guess. What I mean by that is, as we were driving into Chicago, something amazing suddenly captured my mind that I wasn't expecting. And my eyes widened in a moment of confusion for a moment and then joy 😊 leaped into my brain and a smile appeared on my face. We were about maybe 10 miles from the city or maybe less, when I spotted the most amazing site standing on the horizon like a beacon ...was the Sears Tower! Wow! We went to the observation deck and I was like a 35 year old child on Christmas day....until I walked to the window of the observation deck and 😟 it was so overcast ☁️ no one could see an inch out of the window. Oh wow, I didn't mean to write a thesis. Lol
But I did get to see this amazing marvel 😍
wow the view is so beautiful
Most incredible city!
I went up the Willis Tower (I call it Sears Tower since it was called that when I was born) and I loved it! I thought it would be scary but it was so awesome I was sad to leave.
Very nice elevators, and aside from being previously called the Sears Tower, these elevators actually travel at 1600 FPM. Now that's fast!
Before they renamed it to Willis Tower, they used to go at 1800 FPM.
I can’t wait to go there and see Sears/Willis Tower in person. Thank you JimLi Elevators for this awesome video. This is even better than the one where it’s just the elevators
412 meters. 1353 feet! WOW.
It’s not scary it’s rlly fun I got light headed and felt like the building was moving🤣🤣
@@jaylynnflick5620 it can sway up to 3ft
I been there back in 2014 and that was fast
As I believe, when this was the sears tower, there was a video 📹 of a couple of cartoon birds 🐦 🐦 on the TV 🖥 in the elevator 🛗 before the one that you see 👀 here in this video 📹.
That elevator lies Willis technically isnt the tallest in the western hemisphere, it is 2nd to One World Trade Center. The skydeck is also not the top floor, the building is 110 floors, skydeck is on 103
ACROSS FROM THE SEATTLE NEEDLE IS A HOTEL WITH GLASS SCHINDLER ELEVATORS
These Go At 18 MPH.
Cool
I think they are schindler elevators judging by the floor indicator and the chime and the fixtures
MUSICFREAKCC HAS FILMED HERE
Did you see QBYQ's video of the modernized observatory elevator? The new one now goes at 1900 FPM instead of 1600 FPM when you last visited in 2016.
Can you send me a link of the Modernized elevators?

So FASTEST IN THE WORLD
All the elevators in the building are getting a mod from Otis. Some of them will get CompassPlus. The shuttle elevators have also ceased their existance.
Did you go on the John Hancock elevator? It's even faster!
I did not this time, but I have back in 2009.
Hey Jim do you have any cool footage of downtown Milwaukee?
No I don't because I have never been there at all.
SUP
so fast
its the sears tower
No Willis.
