“You can make a painting out of just about anything if you focus on shapes”… I really like that and know it’s true. It’s all about a way of seeing, isn’t it. Once you start walking around and seeing that way, paintings paint themselves in your head. I don’t know if I would have seen the inspiration in this street scene but once it was painted, I see such an interesting pattern emerging. Love it!
Your last couple videos painting these street scenes has really opened my eyes to scenes around my neighborhood and surrounding areas. I often feel an urge to get out of the city but I can’t do it as often as I’d like and it usually adds a lot of travel time to my painting sessions. But you’re inspiring me to try more scenes just around me and I’m excited to try it. Did one last week and want to do some more this week.
Such a brilliant tutorial and I just love the style. I’ve always been overwhelmed by very busy urban scenes and especially painting cars so this has been really helpful. Thank you so much.
He NEVER fails to create interest out of the mundane. At least with me 😊 his experience with composition is on point. He really does deserve to stick out among the OCEAN of fantastic artists out there. And that, I believe he has done. Between his channel, his paintings/style, and his personality...I def set him apart! And that's as a fellow painter
I enjoyed your patience with your painting and still finishing in a timely fashion. I do not generally do street scenes but you are inspiring me to give it a try. Thank you for sharing.😊
Agreed. I am always amazed at how Michael can swing the brush and not run into other painted areas that could become a mess of two colors not meant to touch. Cheers-Greg

You under-estimate your drawing ability. I do some teaching and many people just never put in the time to learn to draw well. Although casual, you can draw well which shows in your ability to design a painting. Nice work as usual.
It has been a pleasure to witness your evolution as an artist, teacher, philosopher, Michael. I agree with your Palm Springs analogy, perhaps a future painting locale? Maybe it was unintentional but you just pulled off a street scene painting masterclass in less than 20'. Also you are looking dandy lately Mike, are you taking advantage of some of your daughter's stylists or it's all you? Lol

Amazing painting, sir! Great cars and the rest. I think it's pretty difficult to paint something like this. You did it perfectly. I have a feeling that Musk will hire you soon! Greetings from the EU!
I don't think it's overworked, I think it's awaiting the next level. Just a few more magic touches from you to make it more 'Chamberlain'. Love the looseness of your big brushwork on the cars, especially the highlights. Great commentary as per usual.👍
@@jimreid9674 Thanks Jim. Yes, I always set the painting in a frame when deciding whether it needs touch ups or not. As far as finish goes, it comes down to taste. Some people like more detail and others prefer more abstraction. The longer I paint the more I prefer that latter.
Hey Micheal…I really didn’t know what would be interesting in that seen, but as you said, you can make a really nice painting out of nothing. Well done! Cheers-Greg
Love the visible strokes, the composition of the suburban neighborhoods are great! Any India paints coming soon? Saw you were in Emma’s instagram post!

The scrub-in feeling prevailed to the end with a very pleasing nonchalance.

I appreciate the closeups of the brushstrokes and the ability to make a pleasing image out of a “normal” scene

Love your work.
Watching you i feel like to paint outdoor more
Love how your loose brushwork just nails the feel of the scene.... awesome work! You make it look so easy, but it takes years to perfect!
This latest series of suburban streets is fabulous - great simple design and subtle palette.
Thanks Maura!
Great explanations and lesson, thanks!
You make me believe! Thanks for sharing all of your tips and great paintings.
Awesome color combinations. It all works in the end. Well done, sir.
Love this!! At one point when you panned out away from the canvas, the cars became clearer and clearer. Very cool!
the car in front looks so good 🥺👌

good work, i enjoyed that distant road far away...great colors..
Very Inspiring Michael, I love how you explain your painting process and share with others. This style of painting is what I hope to achieve.
I'd love to be able to paint like that one day. You're so free with it. I tend to try to be so perfect and always end up screwing it up lol
Beautiful work 🙏🎨🙏
When you say swinging the brush, you really mean it. I need to get freer like that. Great work!

So amazing!!!!!❤
It amazes me how you just paint anything.
I’m here still waiting for the right scene to paint, instead of just painting.
thank you! This is something I have struggled with, yet you've explained it so simply. Keep up the good work.
It's amazing how you transform an average scene to a stunning painting! I'm always inspired after watching your videos :)

Hey Michael, enjoy your painting RUclipss. Wondering why you don’t tone your canvases at home since you usually tone them the same color and value?
I like toning on site because I prefer working on a slightly damp surface. Also, I don't want to be committed to a burnt sienna tone.
Again you are showing improvement with reach project…
I think this would be better if right side of road would curve to the left like upper part of. Sort of banana shape road.
Nah it wouldn't. Thanks anyway
