The global version of the Xiaomi 14 is now available almost everywhere, so I thought it was a great time to compare its excellent camera system with that of the Samsung Galaxy S24+. Both have capable camera hardware, but which one is actually the better camera system? To answer that question, I took a bunch of photos and videos in several different environments. Do you get fogging lens on Xiaomi 14?
I have to say Xiaomi spend very little time with selfie cams algorithm compared with the rear cams. But if you use the pro mode on selfie or use Open Cam app, the selfies come out very detail without skin smoothing effects. Those blown highlights can be reduced significantly with dialing down the exposure EV setting -0.7 or -1.0.
I totally agree I'm really disappointed with the selfie camera. Too blurry, to warm toned and looks so unnatural. :/
I just love the sweet spot of sharpening that xiaomi is doing. Just enough sharpening for details but not too much. However, samsung nails skin tone and capturing people better.

are there frame drops while taking videos ? Which one does better in that aspect ?
I didn't run into that yet as I never (or had to) shoot in complete darkness. But Xiaomi video frame rate generally looks smoother

So recently I'm in a search for a new phone. Looking towards for less processing video/photo quality from the camera. So I love to own samsung device but it seems to strugle at the "Over Processing" image/video results....
Is there any ways to get more softer image/video on samsung device?
There is! Using Camera Assistant, you can get that softer type of post processing by keeping Picture Softening at High

No, not quite. Color profile and contrast levels are still very different!

Personally, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is more enticing to me for the camera alone (although I prefer One UI and the Samsung ecosystem).

@@hoyoungwon for casual user yes it still good, but for me who use Heavy apps. Snapdragon still better because it didnt throttle the speed.
I woud say i have so disappointed with s24 so much so many areas to improve. By the way base on the video my eyes still pick the s24+ pictures tbh.

Oversharpened and oversaturated are bad, Xiaomi has better camera, but generally Samsung is better. I would choose S24+ even compared with 14 Ultra eventhough the Samsung's camera is hilarious.

@@Usersf134ssk fr tho the s24 design is better compared to the bulky camera from xiaomi 14, though xiaomi 14 is better when it comes to overall performance. If the base s24 had atleast 50w charging it would have been worth sacrificing a little bit of performance and opting to s24 due to some features from it like the Dex and reliable software support.
