    Lovely car. The thing that makes the Brunei cars *even* rarer is that they are RHD - the others are all LHD. One very small point about having twin chromed AMG tailpipes - it's quite true that these weren't standard on any other model (including the SL60), but back in the day Mercedes listed the back box as an accessory part for any R129. Extremely rare to see one though as they were very expensive at the time. Back in 2006 I managed to negotiate a bargain price on a 'new old stock' one gathering dust on a shelf in Germany 🙂

    These kinds of car reviews from Britain are usually far too scripted and with desperate searches for unusual phrases. Annoying and pointless often.
    But this video and the host are excellent. Spot on beginning to end. So natural and appropriate for the car.

      Care to elaborate on your last sentence? I am a delighted owner of a 2017 GLA45 AMG. It is a true AMG, meaning it was built in a separate factory than a standard GLA. I’m in my 40’s and have owned around 20 cars in my lifetime thus far (VW, BMW, Subaru, Toyota, Mazda, Ford, Chrysler) and the Mercedes is easily the most solid vehicle I have ever driven. It is safe, reliable, (very) fast, sounds amazing. It is practical, efficient, and the 4matic AWD system keeps the vehicle stable in any conditions, or climate (Canada). I appreciate all auto makers out there, so I’m always intrigued when someone paints any one of them with such a broad brush. Cheers :)

      @@Carlos_8782their designs are boring and they’ve lost their way with this more power way more weight philosophy. They also dont make a single rwd car anymore which is just sad. People used to buy AMGs for a v8 that couldnt put its power down in a fun way

    • @Carlos_8782
      @Carlos_8782 10 месяцев назад

      @@ForkInTheButtI can’t speak to the 63 too much, but I do know that the M133 2.0 in my 45 punches way above its weight class (375 hp, 0-60 in about 4s). I get the old cliche “no replacement for displacement”…but maybe there actually is? I mean.. 32mpg while embarrassing most V8’s on the road makes a guy go all warm and fuzzy inside. Also, looks are subjective, and I personally don’t have much of an issue with their designs, in general.

      @Carlos_8782 I've had 4cyl turbo cars making 900hp. The issue isn't power from a 4cyl. It's just that high power 4 bangers have always been a budget tuner car sort of motor. Putting a high hp 4 banger in a Merc is like putting an LS in a Ford. It gives it an identity crisis.
