I have a 2015 jeep Cherokee limited. My auto start doesn’t work after they put a thermostat on it. How do I fix it myself. And all the lights light up from park to drive gear shift. What’s that. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance

I have a 2018 dodge durango took it to the shop to get spark plugs change mecanic desconnected battery when he plug it back on and turn the vehicles the stop start light cane on and wont turn off is their any way i can reset it

I owned a Jeep compass 2020 latitude 1 month ago, in the dashboard there is a sign of auto start-stop not ready! I thought it only need to replace the auxiliary battery because the car was unused for couples months, When I searched youtube about the issue I found your video about the problem, I noticed that my car hood miss for rubber piece that you mentioned it in video ! Did I need to re install this rubber part? Add to that my car without remote start engine feature..

that switch is made for remote engine start, i would check to see what criteria is not being met. if the a/c or heat is on it will not go into auto start/stop mode, doors open, hood, seat belt not on ECT. hope this helps also check that the main battery is at minimum 80% capacity.
I have a 2018 jeep compass limited i was having problems with the jeep not starting. I tested the battery and it turned out that it needed to be replaced. Now the jeep starts fine but the auto start/stop service light is on. Any ideas of whats going on?
1-make sure all doors are closed
2- make sure seat belt is buckled
3- a/c must be off(heating may be a factor also)
4-hood closed
5-vehicle battery must be above 70% SOC.
Off the top of my head.. do you still have the original battery. If so I would reinstall it and see if it fixes the issue.
The batteries that are used in vehicles with the autostart/stop feature are not the same as conventional automotive batteries the are more along the lines of a deep cycle battery.
Typically autostart/stop vehicle batteries range from 350$-500$(cad). So if your battery was 100-150$(battery only)it might not be strong enough, and the battery sensor might be picking up on that.
That's what I would start with, since you seem to be certain the issue only started after the battery was replaced.

@@JLsAutoSolution thanks for the help. I no longer have the original battery because i turned it in when i purchased a new one. I tried to get the correct OE replacement im in the U.S so the price for a AGM H5 battery was about 200 us dollars at Autozone. Originally i was having a different issue that had to do with the jeep not cycling to the "RUN" mode. Everything else was fine but the engine wouldnt start. The first thing i did was jumpstart the vehicle and got the battery tested. Now that i replaced the battery the vehicle turns on everything is fine however thats when i noticed the service light turn on. Im not 100 percent sure its the battery but i know it only came on recently.
Sorry if i confuse you im not much of a mechanic lol i can do the basics but you missed me with SOC haha. All i know is that the compass shows you the voltage of the battery in the display cluster and while running its at 14.4 volts and while off its at 12. Something. Does that seem normal for this vehicle?
Since you have a service light on, I would suggest having a full system scan done and printed. This will illiminate alot of questions.
I will be glad to help further. But before that I would strong see if your vehicle is still under warranty.

Its a hood adjuster bumper stop, you will have to look for the part number(sorry).
When the auto start/stop system was broken in the car, could the car still drive or was the grommet fix necessary to drive it again.
yes it could with no issues.
Hi JL I was hoping you had seen a problem like my 2015 Jeep Cherokee is having. The Jeep is jerking like a hard shift after deceleration at the initial second I accelerate again. Like when you slow to go over a speed bump then press pedal to go again or when you slow down to to prepare for turn then accelerate after the turn. It’s a hard jerk with a thump noise. It has did that for a few months and now the stop start ! Light has come on. Thank you for any help you can offer.
Hi Rose. So let me start off by saying thank you for reaching out.
THE First question I have is.. I there a check engine on or have you had the the vehicle scanned for codes( a full system scan is suggested, not just engine) next is it more at hot or cold. Have you checked the transmission fluid level, has there been any repairs on the vehicle lately, have your contacted the dealer to see if there are any outstanding recalls or service bullitens active on your vehicle.
After that you might be having a transfer case issue or a transmission issue but it is hard to say without trying the vehicle..

Check the battey under the fuse box. It's the battery that controls the start stop system.
sorry check under passengers seat, was thinking of the jeep wrangler.
I just bought new car Audi have a have function. Auto stop / start ! I really don’t like it ! Can I go dealer to disconnect this auto stop permanently ???? Have dealer do this for me ! Thank you

Hey I took mines to the dealership and they replaced the batteries and my car still say “start/stop not ready battery charging “ and idea why?

I’m having an issue where the car will do the auto stop but won’t kick back over so I have to turn the car off and on to be able to drive.
I would check the aux battery that is underneath the TIPM(engine compartment fuse box) and replace if necessary, if its ok, a system check will be required.

Hi. My auto stop start ist not also working. But on Display I do not have this Option that shows auto stop start condition. I have all option except this on. Can some one Tell me why?
Did you put car in Neutral or was that in Drive mode?

I recently replaced my auxiliary battery prior to replacing it the auto start stop feature worked after replacing it the feature no longer works and i get no message about it I dont like the feature to begin with just wondering if its something i should be concerned about? Thanks
if the door is open, a/c is on, seat belt is not buckled, heat is on, or soc of the battery is low the system will never go into operation,. hope this helps.
The auto start stop is the DUMBEST thing Jeep ever did for their vehicles. Its an annoyance and should be ripped out of there. The environmentalist "big brother watching you" thinking this saves the environments. More exhaust and resources (extra battery) are used/wasted because of this feature.
I agree that it's not the best solution, but they are trying to solve an issue. If the vehicle is not running it's not polluting..with that being said. On to a technical view... It's a huge pain in the @$$, and cost way more to repair.. typical battery cost around 500$.
I agree as well with getting rid of it. Or it should stay off unless you the driver turns it on, not alway on and have to turn it off every single time

make sure that the battery is for a auto start/stop vehicle- if your climate control is on it will not work, if seat belt is unbuckled it will not work, if th e drivers door is open it will not work.

if its starts then thats a a sign that the system is working as intended, but there is something that is canceling the starter after wards.
Mine stopped working as well, mine says battery charging. But that’s what it says all the time. Any suggestions
i would have the battery(load tested) and charging system(out put tested)

I was going up a hill then my compass bucked a little bit and the start/stop system warning light came on. It won’t go above 30mph.
thats limp mode, there is an update for the compass for the stop start system, but have it diagnosed first

How do I turn off the auto start/stop?
There should be a button (an A with a circle around it) press that when the light is on it is disabled and when the light is off it is enabled.
