Shkodra is the bicycle city of Albania, has always been. My father (a history teacher) used to ride 30km to work at a village school. And on weekends he used to carry me and my brother on his bike going to the Shkodra lake beach. Every family had at least a bike during that time.

During your little protestations of love in the pizza restaurant Ivana was reading from St Paul's first letter to the Corinthians on the wall (chapter 13 - love is patient, love is kind etc. etc. etc). Actually, St Paul may well have travelled to Albania - he says he spent time in Illyricum. You may well be walking in the footsteps of the great St Paul!!! Maybe some Albanian viewers can tell us?

Shkodra has it all: rivers, a lake, the seaside is 30-40min away (Velipoja), a big castle (Rozafa), museums (Marubi museum is a must for a lover of history like you)...etc.
You were probably there on weekend when everyone is either in Theth or at the beach, Shkoder is not empty, not a crowded city either but it looked deserted when you were there.
Like he said in the morning was more crowded, remember once that time of the day “ZHEG” hits then I guess everyone still takes the short nap and then back at PJACA again. Shkodra ♥️♥️

This new hairstyle really suits you, Ivana.. The bus fare is just almost similar to Malaysia, maybe just little higher fare .. The hostel really good value , clean, charming, liveable city. For elderly and those with some physical disabilities, well this kinda places would be suitable too..not need to rough it out trekking , sweating and getting dirty, wet, etc.. Cherries so cheap, for that amount Steve purchased..might cost 80 times more in Malaysia..I never ate any cherries for more than 10 years..so expensive in Malaysia.. Very wise Ivana and Steve to buy and eat lots lots cherries, cheese , olives, yes..the pizza really look so good.... Pizza Hut better buck up ..

You should go to "Mrizi Zanave"(roughly translates to "The chilling place of the Fairies") in Lezhe. Its perhaps the best Restaurant in Albania. It also offers a sort of tour around the property. 👍

Albanian language is slightly different that English, it's like saying Toronto (Shkodër) and The-Toronto (Shkodra). So used in a sentence would be: The city of Shkodër. Welcome to Shkodra. Hope it helps understand it. Same thing with Tiranë-Tirana

It's hot in Albania now. People only come out of the buildings early in the morning or after 7:00 pm. Many are at the beach. Olives are cut that way to let the salt and lemon brine to get in them and for some of the bitterness to come out. Not all of it because that bitterness is what you need for your body. That bitterness, oleuropein, phenolic compounds, has the cancer fighting properties. Look for Albanian indigenous varieties which are organic and processed in salt and lemon brine, instead of imported from Italy/Spain or Greece where they remove all of the bitterness and then there is only empty calories to swallow no real health value left in them. Cherries at Metro in Toronto today $8/kg so YEAH GREAT VALUE :)
The beauty of traveling are there are days that is super beautiful and perfect and there are dark days and nothing ever stay the same but the beautiful moments comes again and again and because you're travelling slow you're able to soak it allll in. I love this video you guys...Ivana your hair is the BOMB! I am so happy for both of you to be able to travel and having some normalities without mask!!
