So with the 75cc BB vs BTN on Q965shhs, part of the reason we’re x/r turn is bc we unblock FDs and also block 55 yes? Funny enough I was actually in a flop x/r seminar from PokerCoaching, where he was advocating these same types of “blocker bluff” x/r (bc most players are way too value heavy with their x/r range and don’t find adequate bluffs besides obvious semi-bluffs with very good equity). As always, fantastic content, your channel is a gem!
hey! good content. i got a question to the last hand w Q4s: would u choose the same line if the river was non club A? we would still block both str8. though on our side most of them would cbet turn w OESD i would imagine.
Hearing that the river check/raise is over bluffed is surprising to hear. I've always noticed the opposite, that people like to do it for value. Some of these bluffs seem pretty wild, but they are pretty cool. Very easy to burn money if you're not careful.
Great video :). I didn't understand the choice of block betting river with the 57 and the explanations about targetting the hands you block (55/95 etc). Do you size like this because that would be the sizing you would use if you actually had 55, and because he does have flushes/straights in his range? Would you also often use this sizing with your nut flushes? Also what about using hands with an Ac (unsuited) as turn check raise, in order to be able to rep nut flush and block it for your opoonent river, with so much money left river (if you have some in your pf range)?
Hey Saulo. I just came across your channel and love these videos. So detailed in analysis but easy to digest. Do you do 1.1 coaching for recreational players?
saul gurdo your videos from italy and so far they are a crazy help, i don't understand why he doesn't translate this video into italian can you do something? (Thanks in advance)
Many poker teachers have coaching- for-a-split-of the profits programs (CFP programs), but few will back their students with their own money as Saulo does.
Hey Saulo, love the content! One question: min 19:00 QJo. is calling vs the river raise not a better option in practice? given that XB turn range is much less protected than in theo. Also dont imagine him thin value raising Ax after the line he took
Very hard to say what is better. You would have to know exactly how often he is bluffing and exactly how much he folds to shove. Whenever in doubt I prefer to go with the most aggressive action
i have a question about the last hand. Theres a big difference between calling in an overbluffed spot where you need to be right around 30% of the time calling 100 into 200 and rebluffing 450 to win 200 where you need to be right like what? 60% of the time? If he is raising polar and severely overbluffing even 50% instead of 30% it would still not be enough to rebluff unless we think we can fold out some of his value like 2pair which seems ambitious. Do you have data showing regs overbluff so drastically here? like 70% instead of 30%? or am i missing something? thanks
I'm risking about 400 to win 200, so I need it to work 2x more often than not to breakeven, which would be 67% of the time. People will have around 42% of bluffs there, so I need 25% fold equity more out of the 58% value hands they XR. 25%/58% = 43%, so I need them to fold about 43% of their value XR hands to be able to profit. I think any 2pair or worse will be a snap fold for most people, and they will call sets or better only. Given the amount of combos of sets or straights possible, and that I block a 4, yeah I think this will get more than 67% folds
For the first two hands, it looks like the solver is showing a pot size c/r for these spots. What made you decide on an overbet, and what kind of differences do you think there are between the two sizings?
GTO Wizard built the sims with pot being the biggest XR size, but I think overbets are more commonly used. Overbets put more pressure into the bluffcatching region, and they set up a better SPR for river shove
in the spot with 75cc, I don't understand why you want to bet small to target hands that you block (ex : 55) ? why wanted to put pressure on hands that you was representing on the turn ? I would like to learn more about this thinking process, thx mate
I find interesting in the second hand that you elect to shove on this river, do you think any flush can pick this sizing for value ? Seems thin to me. And if not, vilain has way more nut flush in his range than you as you'd almost never pick this sizing turn oop w tp + nut fd
Hey mate. If you take a look at the GTO wizard simulation you'll see that many flushes go all in on the river. It's relatively std to shove with a flush after bombing the turn
The fact the pool overfolds doesn’t mean you shouldn’t balance your overbet range with real value hands like AK, you can add some more bluffs at the bottom of your range compared to GTO but you still need to bomb the pot with a portion of AK to protect your otherwise junk-heavy overbet range.
They do get subtitles, it just takes a few days, as its not an automatic thing. If you check past videos you will see many of them have portuguese subtitles
Probably not necessary to use 44 as your turn bluff. Better to use a combo that shares a card with the board, like a 2x, 3x type hand. It can't be too bad though, just got unlucky this time 😅
It works rarely or never at lower stakes even all you say and shows make sense ! I like your content but don’t agree about this part. My opinion and in my experience.
Today, I have the revelation that players in NL2 are overfolding after watching one of Saulo's videos. I see it happen because I now try to be more liberal with my bluffs, and no wonder my value hands often don't get paid. It's because Villains are overfolding, so my value hands can't get paid. Now, I only hope the trend actually continues when I move up the stakes. The only reason to tell people "this kind of play never works on low stakes" is so that it's kept a secret. xD
@@saulocostapoker wrong again. lets say you have 1 club in your hand. there are 13 in a deck. so you just reduced your opponent's likelihood of having a flush by just under 8 percent. like i said. irrelevent. lets say you hold one A. there are 4 Aces in the deck. so your opponent has a 25 percent less chance of having AA. whoopdefreaking doo. Hey mate. Making youtube videos is certainly not a waste of time for me. While it is true that I could make good money simply playing poker (I would estimate my yearly EV to be somewhere around 200k if I were to just focus on grinding cash games full time, maybe a bit more with good 5k+ games), there are many reasons why focusing on other things could be better. To name a few: - Producing content helps me bring clients to my existing staking business. I stake players all around the world, and the profits of this business alone is already superior to my EV as a sole online grinder; - Building this new business on youtube forces me to develop skills that I wouldn't otherwise develop as a grinder, and that's something I very much appreciate. I have a strong passion for learning new things, and RUclips/content creation is a process of learning many different skills, such as communication, public speaking, writing, storytelling, marketing, and many others; - After grinding poker for so many years, and after building my staking business, I realized I get more satisfaction from being an entrepreneur rather than a grinder. It is more fun, challenging and engaging for me personally. So I "waste my time" making youtube videos because it makes me more money, makes me learn more things and it is more fun for me.
