Unnamed special teams coach: Exists
Pat: I'm gonna end this man's whole career
Yeah...super original. You forgot to add "hold me beer".
I actually understand what the coach meant. In life you guys haven't lost enough or had to deal with losing. Basically you haven't dealt with adversity enough, but with this out of context quote it sounds bad.
Memestiff anyone who knows Pat: breaths
Pat: let me stop you right there
Has to be Ray Rychleski. Special teams coordinator during 2-14 Indianapolis Colts in 2011
@@mattk8810 I'm not sure his point was to accept it. His point may have been that they're not use to losing, so they're handling it poorly. You can lose and still be dignified and show resolve.
As someone said, this sounds like it was out of context.
It’s a lot like when Polamalu lines up in the C gap.
Outdoor Eddie lolll
Overused not funny
KID MORTAL eh. it's already just a running gag for likes
Mrcorona13 Go get a sense of humor
Christopher S Longo can someone explain to me the C gap joke?
Miami is a pretty sweet town to lose in tho
For sure
Better then Cleveland
Bj Lover especially with the 🥶 coming
Bj Lover I’d be so pissed if I played for a losing team in Cleveland
In the wise words of warren sapp from Tampa. " You wanna go party, u can go to Miami. Got the kids with you? Lets go to orlando go to disney. Or we could stay in Tampa and go out to eat. Florida is the best, whats not to like"
I wonder what joe Thomas felt like in his career with the browns
It's not often that an offensive lineman gets much credit. Once he got past the idea of being part of a losing franchise, it must have been kind of cool to be consistently recognized as the best player on the team.
Connor Battilana not only that but one of the best at his position in the last 20 years
Will Henson ever*
I remember him saying he loved playing for them
He will never have to pay for anything again in Cleveland. He was mad loyal to them. Never really complained
As a Dolphins fan, I’m with the rebuild but we have to win at least one game. Don’t want to be apart of the 0-16 family. Although two 1-15 seasons is pretty lame as well
Who cares. Secure the first Pick. (Browns Fan here) no shame in it. Other teams are not to far off from you guys. You win one you’ll end up winning another and screw yourself out of the top pick
Also a Phins fan. I think we'll be a force to be reckoned with with Flores after this tank year. 2021 will be nice.
Can't wait to see what Williams and Gesicki can do with a solid offense and more years under their belts
Bengals fan here, I completely agree. for the love of God please let them win one game.
Join ussssssss
It’s really not that bad here we have doughnuts and free coffee and a beer cooler for when our teams lose
The ONLY thing more powerful than the joy of winning, is the STING OF LOSING.
Matthew Byrd true that bro
when it comes to gambling, i think losing is like 10x more powerful. i could win 500 bucks (a decent amount of money to me) and forget about it by the next morning. i lose 500 bucks and it haunts me for a week.
@@JY-we6ru You gotta know when to hold em.... Know when to fold em....
@@bastian5065 know when to walk away, know when to run
Imagine at the end of the season goodell introduces the draft lottery🤣
Patriots trade for the 8 pick, end up with 1 pick just Brady annouces retirement.
That would actually be good so tanking won’t exist anymore
Victor Salazar it doesn't work in the NBA lol
@@nickniehaus1763 Because bad teams are bad.
Victor Salazar tanking will still exist
How does Pat do the show on a different set every day
Nolan O'Brien planes. Lots of traveling
It’s incredible, they’re grinding
Because he is a straight up G
And yet the Bengals still dont have an indoor facility
“I guess every year is tough to watch if you’re a dolphins fan.”
-finally, a podcast that speaks to me.
Well, if I could get paid millions to be worse than everyone else at my job I'd be thrilled beyond words.
When it comes to your mental health... Money can't change a thing.
@47 47 Considering I'm 36 and I'd likely be rich and retired by now....I'd get over it pretty quick. Instead I have to work another 30 plus years...yeah...so much better and TOTALLY NOT depressing lol
@@SumtingWong343 lmao ok? What is your point??
@MewTheWild Yes, they are absolutely competitive. Well most of them probably are anyway. But if you think for one second, more than 1% of them would still play if the pay was 100k or less a year you're outta yo mind.
Eric Hammer that’s the dumbest shit I have ever heard chief. yes water is wet.
My highschool football team is 0-30 in the last 3 years....I haven’t won a game in highschool so hopefully this year is the one🤞🏻
Maybe your HS team needs a change of leadership
Rome Herrera groundbreaking take brother
Stratton Watt
Idk why but this made me cackle
@@romeherrera210 it really does
My high school was 1-26 over three years and then my junior year we went 7-2 and made the playoffs. It’s possible. Good luck
*sees Dolphins thumbnail*
Ooooh this should be good
Ya most of those guys in the NFL hate to lose more than they like to win.
If I made it to the NFL and I was signed a decent contract I wouldn’t care if I went to the 2016 Browns, or the Jets, or even the dolphins id be grateful because I’d be making millions
@@brady6417 That uncompetitive and content with mediocrity mentality is why you're not playing in the NFL.
Bs they don't care. Long as their checks clear. Is lose every week for 20 years and fake injury every year for even 1 mil a year.
@@jamesmiller5900 you wouldn't make it on a team with that mindset. They would be able to detect your bs during practice and you'd be cut.
As a athlete playing football though nowhere near the pros but you are very correct
As a lifelong browns fan, God bless Joe Thomas. Glad Pat put some respect on his name.
Dolphins vs bengals is the most important game of the season
Howto a Basic despite being bad the dolphins D-Line is gonna shred the bengals
Tank bowl!!!
Is was an amazing game to watch.
Dolphins gonna win Ez
“Winning makes everything better, food taste better, drink taste better, sex feels better” lol anyone else get BMS vibes from Pat saying that?
Okay he's so unoriginal he has to repeat the same thing twice
This is what it's like to play for Marty Daniels.😂😂😂
cashing those bi monthly six figure checks must help.
RUclips will not stop recommending this man😂 I don’t even watch him but he’s all in my recommend
They should've interviewed Joe Thomas for this.
Yohei Mito or Calvin Johnson
Saying they “haven’t lost enough” I think it meant you haven’t learned how to deal with failure and bounce back.
Love the show man, started watching you more than espn
Only the reals remember Curtis Painter
My uncle would always try to make me feel better telling me he predicts more passing yards from him every week....we went 2-14 😂
I live in the UK, they showed the colts pretty much every week on channel 4. They probably thought they had Manning they'll be good, he got injured. I had to watch Painter and who ever the colts rolled out.
The man the myth the legend
Pat I like watching you find your true self on RUclips, figuring out what you want to bring to the world. *Coughs up blood*
I like how his desk is clean now that he is back from Houston. AJ really made you clean it 🤣🤣
Was part of a lot of teams in baseball and football where we were not that good and alot of players didn't have the same emotion when we lost as I did and that was super frustrating culture to be apart of. They would always hang out, drink and all that after games and I was like we just LOST the game I really don't feel like doing anything. At that point practice becomes pointless.
Hey Pat great show
The fact that a person like pat existed in the nfl makes me smile all the time.
Shows Miami in the thumbnail:
1 year later, goes 10-6 and missed the playoffs on one terrible game, as a dolphins fan myself, that really hurt
I was rooting for them to make the playoffs too.
Damn Pat is so wired he talking faster than Ben Shapiro
Let me start by saying that I know EXACTLY how you feel man! I was on a winless quizbowl team one year in highschool
Yup! We went 10-6 last year. I guess Flores said the right things🏈
Probably wont see this BUT im a big fan of the podcast listen everyday at work on pandora (normally on the day after). Keep up the great work! Maybe talk some Philly for me? Appreciate you getting me through the grind.
Podcast fantasy Mock draft in the future?
Interesting video took watch midway thru 2020. I think the answers on culture and Flores as coach are clearer...
Can you link to that led board above the desk?
Just talking about winning made pat stand up
Did you just quote, "Blue Mountain State?" "Beer tastes better. Sex, loses its squishiness"
McAfee is Blue Mountain State IRL.
This is how I feel on Madden with my qb lol
He's speaking truth here. Losing sucks!!
Answer: It's a million times better than being the best phone rep on the floor making $12.86 /hr.
Where can I buy one of those led banner things on the wall
And pat is winning by starting this show from the ground up good job pat
💪🙏
Why tf I wasn’t subbed to this channel earlier...
dude look up the wrestlemania incident
Best channel ever man. Especially the polumalu story lol
I've only watched a few clips on this channel, but, I'm liking it so far.
Another thing dealing with Miami is this. Are you going to lose everyone that you did have bc of the way your trying to build. Does everything your losing outweigh what you'll actually gain.. I mean the way their going about it, is pushing what they did have away! So is this ultimately going to be a botched rebuild regardless?! The way its going they aren't going have anything left to add too. It's a complete tear down and restart..And that would take alot of losing for a long time. I don't see them attracting any good Free Agents the way this thing looks.. especially from the outside looking in.
🤣🤣🤣🤣he said they are too worried about playing dice in the locker room lol
Mac is a great commentator. Full on entertainment.
I play on a high school team that has only won one game in the past two years and that locker room vibe of people being used to losing is true and it hurts the team tremendously especially when ur extremely competitive and trying ur ass off to win and yet people on the team don’t mind losing it hurts inside and u feel Liek not even playing for that team anymore
JOE SIX PACK deadass what I’ve been doing bro luckily most of them left and it’s my senior year now so it’s gonna be amazing
He spoke TRUTH!!!
I love you pat
I thought this said "i love you pot"
everything Pat McAfee says about winning is so damn true. Having been on losing teams my entire time playing football and never having to win more than 4 games. yeah... everyone shits on each other and the environment is toxic. that's when i decided to stop playing.
I know what it feels like I play on the community college team that lost every game except the last one and the score 19-11 😪
Just stumbled upon this. Flores got the last laugh and turned that s**t around quick!
We didn't win a damn game in middle school... It was horrible. Best part of the game was orange slices and Gatorade at half time.
I do not know the intonation from that coach, but out of context, I understand his point. When trying to get better a something, NORMAL people lose and lose a lot and learn from mistakes and overcome adversity.
I understand what Pat is saying and you should not just accept being a loser or think it is okay, but if you do not know how to handle losing... how to bounce back, learn, and improve... then he is right. You haven't lost enough to know what it is like. You haven't lost enough to appreciate when you win. You haven't lost enough to understand what is at stake. You haven't lost enough.
I have. I play different games competitively. I have lost a lot of Madden. I have also been a champion. I have my name in the credits of Madden 2011. I play Magic: the Gathering. I have lost a lot. I have also won Grand Prix, qualified for nationals and the old pro tour, which stands for promotional, not professional. I never gave up and learned and fought and improved. I also coach and play American football in South America with adults. I have lost reps. I have lost games. However, we have also won every league championship but one. We have won games against other South American teams and our mini tournaments we hold in Feb the last three years. We also got our asses smoked by Mexico and Chile. We did not give up. We trained and got better.
So... without context and intonation, maybe the coach was right. You had not lost enough.
I've enjoyed watching my fins a lot this year, I'd rather be 3-9 with 3 solid first round picks than the 6-6 cowgirls with no chance at a ring
This comment aged VERY well
Ahh the Stillers, I heard Ben is starting at Quarterback for them again this year.
Crazy they should have built around tannehill dudes balling out right now
Gase screwed his career in Miami. We all knew the second Tannehill left, he would probably make playoffs.
I like the story of when Chuck Noll 1st came to Pittsburgh
That's why I always say:
_Be good enough to be drafted into the NFL, but not too good to be drafted by the dolphins or bungals_
I got the second part nailed down, now if i can just get the first part.
Dolphins fan here, we won 5 games and still got Tua :)
Says in five year, it seems to be paying off rn, but please give my raiders a win I am so sad rn
@@alexislanderos30 well, your raiders are out of the playoffs right now 🙃 why do you want them to win? Miami is still on the hunt
Life long miami fan here! How does a teean switch work cause i want out!
Broke Man Fishing then switch teams u douche or wait until next season where we have 13 fucking draft picks kid
Imagine being the best player in you Pop Warner, High School, possibly College teams and now you're on the practice squad for the Miami Dolphins this season?
It takes a lot of mental toughness and passion to be an NFL player

My high school hockey team went 0-26 and my season ended with a broken wrist with 2 games left. Brutal.
Damn that's depressing
Evan VanWormer
Did they get a win in those 2 games? Lol
Miami not looking so bad now huh Pat 😎
1 year later and things are already so promising
My fins will be great again... someday
Pat how do you feel about Felipe carvalo?
in most and the best soccer leagues around the world, the bottom team or teams get demoted to a lower division if they finish last at the end of the season. I wish the NFL had this too, because at some point the worst teams dont even try anymore just to get that number 1 pick or close to it. or at least do away with the salary cap if you plan to give the best picks to the worst teams.
I'm from central Europe and I hate the way soccer leagues work. Yeah, the fight for not going down a league is exciting, but I'd rather have a competitive league where more than a maximum of 4 teams could win the championship. In the NFL there are about 6 teams that could maybe win the Superbowl this year. If I watch soccer, I know either Bayern or Dortmund will win the German league again. Top heavy leagues are more interesting to watch long term
@@Dominik.S. A league is more than just "who will win it" though. Clubs trying to avoid relegation means that they scrap for points in every game. Which leads to amazing upsets etc and makes the end of the season exciting at the bottom as well as the top.
@To Release is To Resolve You would make it two divisions of 16 teams. Then a series of relegation/promotion playoffs at the bottom alongside the Superbowl playoffs at the top.
Removes the ability to tank a season because it'll lead to you dropping out of the top division. You'd also need to restructure the draft somehow.
@To Release is To Resolve like Oxcart pointed out, the league would have to be structured differently it they were to implement relegation. Divide the league, create new teams, etc. If football is as popular as the tv ratings say, then there will be enough people to create more teams in more cities. I just dont like that the worst teams get rewarded the best draft picks. Or imagine coming out of a powerhouse college team just to play for the Browns or the Lions. Talk about dreams crushed, hehe. There is no perfect league, as Erd Nuss described how you get a two-horse race in certain soccer leagues, but I am against the idea of rewarding bad teams. There is no incentive for the team owner to change his team, and the fans suffer in the end.
Well. It hurts more to lose then it feels good to win but you are still making millions none the less.
Just like the Bills and the 4 super bowls
Sucking in a cold weather northern city with an open air stadium has to be the worst. Cleveland, Cincy, Chicago, Buffalo. Winning is way better if you play in these cities.
What a difference 1 year can make, Flores took Miami from worst to really good in just one year. Next year it will jump up another rung on the NFL ladder. Miami is back, and it's back winning with all new, very young talent that is playing together as a real team and that is so much better to watch than a team with super stars on it, they have a bad day or het hurt and then the game is lost but when the team is playing together, helping the team win each weak, then you always have a chance to win. I would take a team of no names that plays together over a team that has a few super stars any day.
Ahh how much difference a year can make
Pat is hilarious it like buds 😆. Don’t you even think about winning 😆
My high school football team has gotten comfortable losing and it is not good. We have only won 4 games in 3 years
my man Joe Thomas is winning now though! looks healty been lifting and living on his plot huntin and fishin waiting on that call for the gold jacket.
My brother is a die hard Dolphins fan, since he was like 6. We grew up in Western New York, too, making it doubly strange. (GO BILLS.) As kids, he had a teddy bear he named Dan Bearino. It's fun to talk football with him, because of course he's down this year, but he's also already looking forward to 2020 and 2021. There's always hope when you have multiple first round picks multiple years in a row... and Brady can't play until he's 50, can he?
Bill T 46?
2:55 on replay
I’ve followed Pat for awhile and started when I was an avid colts hater living in Indiana and all as a shitty dolphins fan.. seeing him blowing up makes me want to be a hater just for fun, but.. I fucking love this guy.
If you're a good player and you were hoping to get to the Super Bowl probably sucks. But you're borderline player it's probably okay because you have a chance to play when have a better team and I have a chance. Also basically it's like an audition for free agency.
I hate losing more than I like winning
You can ask Trout what it's like to be on a terrible team
Every year is tough for dolphins fan. Especially when Ryan Tannehill lools like a Pro Bowler.
whoa whoa whoaaaa....Joe Thomas had every opportunity to go somewhere else. He clearly chose to stay with the Browns which is another character discussion all together.
Crazy how much this changed, miami was the worst team now were in playoff contention a year later.
One year later....go phins!!
Who would've thought after this video came out the Dolphins would end up at 5-11
Growing up: don’t be a sore loser!
Now you’re a grown adult: don’t be satisfied with losing!
raxmarrone not even remotely the same thing but okay
Nick Niehaus so when a kid is angry that he lost is he not called a sore loser? When an adult is chill after a loss is that not a “lack of passion”?
😂😂 you can still lose and show class and respect though. Doesn’t mean you need to be satisfied. Two very different things
Jake Mitchell fair point
raxmarrone I do think that there is definitely a problem with the average “sore loser” mindset though. If it’s not done right, you’ll have dirty play or some sort of over-emotional response. Like the Steelers. Or Vontaze Burfict lol
Everything is better when you win
Damn Pat, put the eight ball down for a minute and relaaaax lmao
Like he's on f****** something he can't sit still and he's wearing girl jeans
Look at his desk it so clean
pat the 🐐
And... Flores is now regarded as one of the best coaches in the nfl rn
This is why the nfl should adopt the draft lottery system. You got all these teams tanking for early first round picks. If those pick aren’t guaranteed then we’ll see these teams actually trying to compete.
Not sure how I feel about the draft lottery system. Like in the NBA a small market team the Pelicans lost Anthony Davis in a trade and then magically get the first pick to get Zion Williamson. Seemed a little fishy to me lol.
That's why the 76ers decided to lose on purpose for 3 years? Because they were competing?
That won't solve anything. Teams in the NBA tank all the time. Look at the cavs, 76ers, suns and Lakers at one point
Victor Torres
NFL teams aren’t tanking, they literally just suck 😂😂
Daniel aye you might be right I thought the dolphins won on accident then they won again and it’s like hmmmm lmao
I was a quarterback for a 1-8 team in high school, and what sucked most about it was that the record didn't show how good we could have been. Three of my teammates are now playing division 1 football from a hs that only had about 200 students. We lost our last 4 games by a total of 5 points. Lots of sad drinking on those Texas Friday nights.
Cardinals had Calais Campbell go off when they were irrelevant. Still kinda up till this year Mx. 10-7 this year baby
Barry sanders must of really been calling teammates out. He was so tired of being so great and detroit so bad he retired when he had 5 more seasons in him. Thats y i say he is the best rb by far. No rb cant or will put up his numbers if they played with a team like he had.
Pat McAfee is the guy you'll find in a dive bar 20 years from now talking about stuff he did 40 years ago.
Once scored five touchdowns in a single game for Polk High School. Typical Al Bundy
This aged well hahah
