I just got my first sewing machine and I am 11. It is a used sewing machine and my parents said that if I like it then I can get a nicer one. I hand sewed some paws a month or so ago though. My birthday is in less than a week and I am asking for money. I will get some fur (I have some already but I need another color) and a foam headbase. Also maybe some feet paws but idk. I might get no feetpaws depending on how much I get, if I get enough, I will also get a badge. I am going to a con in November (my first one) and I am super excited! My species is a wolf with a shark tail and dorsal fin, A.K.A a shark wolf. It is black, turquoise, and purple. :D

@Dinky dixy yes. I used to hand sew everything but a machine cuts the time more than a half. Hand sewing fleece may be a different story though. I'd advise to research different hand stitching so your fabric doesn't bunch up.

Marty Armstrong do not use uphostery thread just use all purpose and the tension is 4. If your machine is strong enough it should hold up smoothly without jamming. If your machine jams its because of the motor not being strong enough to pull the fabric through fast enough.

HoneyPie I got some really good fur from Joann’s and there was even another furry there! She cut my fur for me :) I finished the paws and that are great! The fur is SOOOO SOFT!! I haven’t had any problems with it.
Honestly, I wouldnt suggest doing paws with foam, it makes them hot and bulky. insteas, maybe try making them with polyfill! it makes them a lot ore squishy and cool! Luna The Wolf id recommend waiting till your 18 but having a partial is totally do-able. your feet paws will probably be the only thing you grow out of. (I haven't grown since I was 13 so I made mine early)

EeveeSerenity 5 I actually made a 3 finger handpaw by accident, and I think it turned out better than my four finger handpaw. it actually ended up being more comfortable in my opinion
Winter Wolf I don't see that working well. *Theoretically* you could, but you would have to stitch a bunch of oddly shaped, differently colored stuffed animal fur together. However, you'd end up with a patchwork-at-best end product and that doesn't seem worth the time, effort, or sacrifice of numerous stuffed animals.

Woofer Town sewing machines are just way more convenient than hand stitching.
Korosu Studios agreeable. It's takes twice as long to handstitch and less with a sewing machine but sewing machines are expensive but it's worth it :P

If you have a big one, my dog ripped a hole in one of my big ones. They also make good substitutes for stuffing

Amber Briggs i usually use permanent chalk or white pens but ive never experienced sharpie stains and bleeding even with my personal suit.
