They left out the part where after this, a little kid was told he had won the shoes, and Sal was named as the donor, and was given the choice in front of a room full of people to indeed give them to the kid or take them back and keep them for himself. He kept them for himself and all the parents in the room trashed him.

This season has had a lot more in the way of public environments so they're definitely on track, I just think covid screwed a lot of that up for a while. They went back to the mall for a while, the grocery store came back as well, and the punishment in the most recent episode was probably the most open the show's been for a long time.
