Right. After I got new wheels and tires, I had the TPMS light always on. This post (not my post) on a thread about it made sense to me. It worked great. www.tundras.com/posts/975359 The wires/connector are on the passenger side down under the dash. Easy access. I have a small section and a picture of my implementation on my build thread at www.tundras.com/threads/matts-2-445-mile-2008-tundra-dc-build.120735/ search for "TPMS" to jump to that section.
@@N6EAJ thank you for that fix, as well. I also want to do your stereo head unit replacement. I have the factory JBL setup 15 speakers, so I want to see if just the head unit will improve the sound quality and the other issues that I have with the stock unit.
Seems like a better location than down in driver or passenger footwell or up under the dash (where I've found them in other vehicles). Any idea of frequency? Judging from the original length it's probably pretty high, so your wire is probably multiple wavelengths and might have just gotten lucky the nodes didn't cancel out. Thanks for the report!
You sir are the adult I was hoping to become when I was young.
Hey I think a cop is pulling up behind you while you're looking thru that range finder😂
Good job !
Thanks!
Looks like an easy fix. What have you done to fix the constant tpms light on ?

Yes, 315MHz. I show a screen shot of the spectrum analyzer picking up my key FOB in the video (at about 2:27 in).
In my 2006 tacoma I get around 500 feet of range with an unmodified receiver. If I put the remote in my mouth it's closer to 1000 feet.
