I have aquired a rosenfors milling machine very similar to a cincinnati #2 it was in storage for 15 years and was put there dirty i have to dismantle and clean can not find a manual any advice i live in bc canada. THANKS
I have a parts manual for the #2, but I can't get parts for it. There is a company called Parts-n-Parts that can get you parts, but they can be expensive. If you would like me to send you the manual you can email me at support@hwmachinerepair.com
I read that somewhere at sometime. It could possibly say that on the lubrication instructions on the side of my machine. It says to lower the quill 2 inches and add a few drops of medium to heavy oil. I do it to my mill. I did however learn in this video that I am over lubricating my machine, and I also learned that my way oil may be a little too thick.
When we rebuild a head we pack the bull gear with EP-1 grease. There isn't a way to get to the bull gears on a step pulley externally which is why we recommend packing grease when the head is apart.
I really enjoy these videos. I don't believe I've ever watched one where I didn't learn something new. Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge.
Good job Barry. Thank you for sharing this valuable information. Retired hobby Bridgeport here in Kansas.
Thanks for this excellent description - way better than the manual.

Doesn''t the J head have a drop of heavy medium oil down the drawbar too

Read that too about a drop of oil down the drawbar. @Barry, does this need to be done?
On the step pulley head, is it still spindle oil for the bull gear?

@@HWMachRepair ok, I saw that in the video. Is the upper most oil cup filled with spindle oil?
@@brandonlau3893 That's correct
@@HWMachRepair Thank you for the reply.
