    Her voice cracking slightly during the high pitched parts is amazing in how instead of sounding scratchy it sounds emotionally painful. It's almost like you can feel her crying out when she sings it.
    Simply beautiful.

      Omg yes. Those high pitch notes are my favorite. It's like you can feel her emotions as you're listening to the song.

    I bet she has one of the most beautiful and impressive voices and maybe even the best female voice currently. I wish to be able to sing like her, but actually, rarely anyone could match her awesome vocals. This song really touches the heart. She feels too desperate and so she drinks and she feels ashamed from herself and likes nothing. Just her voice is enough to tell. A very beautiful, strong, and impressive voice. A very great song. One of my favorites. I just keep listening to it without ever getting bored.

      The basis of the song is not about alcohol and suicide. Swinging from the chandelier is an expression of relief and joy, but it can also be a metaphorical expression of the desire to commit suicide, such as a feeling of frustration as a result of suffering, difficulties, challenges, and worries. The same applies to narcotic medications and alcoholic usages. These are side thoughts and one of the aspects of suffering in the writer’s life.

    • @educationforblind6362
      @educationforblind6362 5 месяцев назад

      The song, in general, is about the meaning of life and its repercussions and our purpose, away from the concept of self-absurd entertainment as absolute happiness, attachment to the spiritual side, beneficial contributions, and dealing with worries and suffering to live a happy life, including (regarding Sia’s life) mental illness and depression, and various fears, difficulties, and tragedies.

    The power in Sia's voice in nearly every one of her songs (especially this one) is beyond powerful. When she belts it, goosebumps appear all over my body. She has one of the best voices I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. I hope the rest of the world can see it so she can become as successful as she wants.

    I love this song. It's a beautiful dope song. Whenever I sing this song, the high head notes in the chorus have helped me when it comes to accessing and mastering my Head voice. I applied what I already know when it comes to accessing Head voice, and the high head notes in this song were a tool that made me realize the difference between my Head voice, and my Falsetto even more when hitting the notes, and applying what I know. Thankyou Sia for this song, and your amazing vocal arrangement you created while making it.

    In my opinion this lyric video has a clearer message that the official one, it may be more artistic & whatever, but it doesn't show the message as much as this video does. The message i get in this video is that when you drink you become invisible. Amazing!

      In her official video; the dancer Maddie is expressing how Sia feels when drinking. It was posted before in the official video what the dance meant. At first when drinking, she feels all "happy" and "energetic" that's why the dance is filled with lively excitement and craziness. Then when she wakes up, "sun is up I'm a mess" the dancer shows the lassitude after drinking >> the hangover.
      At first I thought the official video was a bit weird until I read the post that someone else made.

    • @Juliety213
      @Juliety213 10 лет назад +6

      Found the original comment:
      This video is practically a masterpiece. I didn't understand the video at first, but after finding out its meaning, I watched it again and realised how beautiful the song and especially the interpretive dancing was. As described by the user Joshua Wheeler:
      "It's about the stages of alcohol. The first part is about being happy and drunk and partying, The second part is about trying to carry on daily life like eating and brushing your teeth but feeling horrible. Lastly, the third part is about attempted suicide (as demonstrated at 2:56 when she "hangs" herself from the curtains). It represents Sia's past and how she used to be addicted to drugs and alcohol".
      Watch it again with this in mind, I promise the video is actually quite remarkable.

    I think this video and the official one (with the girl dancing inside an apartment) have a meaning: people who dream big and want to live their lives at its fullest, but simply don't know how and end up doing something that fill that emptiness inside them temporarily. The drinking and party and get a crazy night full of emotions, the girl dancing beautifuly like if leaving a dream (but inside an empty and kind of sad apartment) make me think of that kind of people who make a fantasy life inside their minds but don't go out of their own shells because they don't know how to make their dreams come true in real life.

      songs like this have a million interpretations. for me, i think its relate able. only because someone dearly close to me died recently. it hurts when i think about it - so ive been using alcohol and drugs to numb that feeling.. but after im done these binges i feel like shit, because i know it was the wrong thing to do but i continue to numb that feeling and so on and so forth. its a never ending cycle.. however i am changing that bit by bit, but still; "party girls don't get hurt" that is the most clearest sentence i have ever heard.

    • @MissEnna48
      @MissEnna48 10 лет назад +2

      Starlee King sorry to hear about your loss. I think your interpretation of the song is correct. It is clearly about numbing emotional pain. "Party girls don't get hurt"...she's numbing herself...she's feeling the "love" of everyone else blowin' up her phone to go out and so on. She's just holding on for tonight...just holding on.
      You can't see some wounds. Emotional pain is a very real wound. Despair is hard to fight at times. Holding on is hard at times. That's why we need to seek help and talk to someone who understands. Feeling alone in our pain is the worst. Talking about it helps but still doesn't erase that pain. However, it helps us to process things and hopefully, one day the wound can somewhat heal.
      Take care Starlee xo

    Sia was at one with the songwriting Gods when she wrote this astonishing piece of music. Most songs are lucky if they have a hook or two, this is loaded with them. Add to that the subject matter, a last but not least is Sia's stunning vocals. Easily one of my top five all time melancholic songs, along with

    Last Friday night, Sia came into where I was working again. We were chatting, and she told me she'll be on Letterman soon. But, she won't be seen while performing (she'll be singing live offstage), and that she basically only wants to do her thing without becoming "famous" or losing her anonymity. I kinda respect that. Edit: Sober for 30 months now. This song still hurts, because like Sia and I, there are 3% of us worldwide that struggle with this ugly disease of addiction, that kills your relationships with everyone around you, and ultimatily, yourself. Bless her for this song. It’s sad that not many people in the comment section (or in general) know what the hell this song is really about.

    Sia está muy por encima de las estrellas para las que suele componer que inexplicablemente acaparan más atención. Posee una enorme sensibilidad para hablar de temas dramáticos tratándolos con un punto de vista optimista . Habrá quien diga que es comercial pero si se profundiza en su carrera, en sus composiciones uno se da cuenta de que sía no ha vendido su alma al diablo. Los temas de sía me llevan acompañando ya unos añitos , en momentos muy difíciles me han servido de desahogo y de reconstituyente. SIA FOREVER

      I absolutely agree. Maddie Zeigler is a great dancer so the MV is good. But this version makes me feel even more the desperation built into the song. And the clever way the lyrics are incorporated into the scenery is brilliant.

      Stop pretending like you admire the artist to give yourself an excuse to advertise your own channel. That's pretty inauthentic to be honest and it kinda shows that you use your voice as a propulsion for success instead of messing around with your own instruments and essentially making love to your music. I'm sorry but if you want a good reputation you can't tell people to watch your stuff. Be a little modest. Don't force things into place that don't quite fit. By having your entire channel based on covers, your doing something everyone else has done, and with so much competition someone is going to move on to the next best thing. You have to really strive to put yourself above the rest while still being completely genuine and humble.

    While I usually don't listen to Sia songs (mainly for how she pronounces things. I already have a hard time understanding lyrics to most songs without reading them.) but I can listen to the chorus over and over. It just has so much power and emotion in it that it's almost impossible for me not to sway with it.

    Not a girl but a man, I can relate so much with this, thinking when I was living nights like there was no tomorrow, alone in the crowd, losing grip on reality and put me in danger, driving too. Luckily, nothing really bad happened and nearly 15 years passed, I'm heading my 50s but that attitude is always there in me and it is freaking scary yet so attractive.

    A lot of people are asking what's this song about... And I feel like it's about depression and being an alcoholic because she says- 1 2 3 Drink. Then she's talking about not caring and swinging from a chandelier , feeling great for the moment and just when you wake up you feel the shame.
    Perhaps this may be it, maybe it's not but she wouldn't put the words 1 2 3 Drink for no reason- My Opinion
