I was today years old when I figured out this entire fucking album was based on an Edgar Allen Poe poem "Annabel Lee." Their 10th song on this album is literally called "In her tomb by the sounding sea" which is exactly from the poem itself. I liked this album so much and now I have another reason to love it; Poe is one of my favorite poets.

dudeee same it's crazy. like as soon as 6th grade was halfway over was when this album came out in January. I remember reading the short story they wrote that came in the cd. Good times and time flies

I remember one time in 7th grade Theater class, there was a sticker with the word "Thespian" on it, and, having known this song from Tap Tap Revenge 3, I told the teacher there's a nice theater song about a Thespian. Told him the title of this song, he had already initiated the speakers before I could tell him it may have been a little tough for most 7th graders at that time, and the full stage was blasted with this song's opening. Nobody who had bore witness to that event spoke to me again until after entering high school.

Whenever I listen to this album I’m always amazed at how smooth the transitions are between songs. In the beginning of a song I sometimes don’t even realize that the prior song had ended.

i just got into alesana (early october 2024) and now it’s november and i just wanna say these guys are great i love them so much. they rose to my top third favorite band of all time after literally just 3 listens they’re so good. not just the emptiness but all their records, amazing albums. i hope i can see them live one day bc seriously this band is amazing.
