I feel like why Deadly Ninja (Sonic) is typically overviewed as one of the strongest is because it's used by many players with basically a hit-run style. Most Deadly Ninja users I've seen would use their scatter and flash strike to run occasionally. And when unpredictable, they'd use Whirlwind Kick or Explosive Shuriken (which can't be blocked anymore, sadly).
It's pretty much almost over if they get you into an M1 combo. Usually after the last M1, they could flash strike right after. Since the move is so fast, and it's used right after the last M1, it's hard to counter. (Sometimes you'd still get hit while trying to rag doll cancel, I don't know if that's a hit box problem or skill issue). Deadly ninja can inflict a substantial amount of damage when pulled into a combo, with moves that make it much easier. Such as Whirlwind Kick, which stops the opponent from moving. Though it could be countered if you block and M1 the, before the move impacts. But it's hard to predict when they have you chasing them for 6 whole minutes and then suddenly pulling a Whirlwind Kick.
In conclusion, Sonic is one of the strongest because the moves are in favor of the user, meaning that it's way easier to inflict high damage with such an annoying style.

Not to mention the ultimate, all the moves can't be blocked (im not sure if that's for every ult or it is). Either way, they're still extremely easy to hit, since it's technically the fastest character. Twinblade rush is super easy to hit, you just have to run straight to the opponent without having to worry about counter moves or blocks. Same thing goes for Straight On. For Carnage, just have to face the opponent and use it. But sometimes they side dash out of it, so it's not entirely braindead like the other moves. Fourfold flashstrike can be easily hit if you just face the opponent and use it, just like Carnage.

Genos is strong tho, he’s good for grinding kills because of his OP MECHANIC WHERE YOU GET YOUR SKILLS BACK AFTER A FINISHER.
Fun Fact: Metal Bat can be actually skilled if you use a LordHeaven's Metal Bat combo and that uses the loop dash trick at least and if you know how to use it properly WITHOUT spamming.
guys little tip for dealing with metal bat: when they turn on their ult chase after them and only hit them when you see them start up move 1 and 2, same with Garou's ult. you can just pull the hardest combo on em because they dont have a counter.

As a self proclaimed jack of all trades except sonic. I can proudly tell you that.
Each character is unique on its own way except garou and bat.
Genos has 3 range. Making unique combos.
Garou and bats are two sides of the same coin except the m1 is slower and counter.
Both characters has grab skill.
Garou. 1, 2, 3.
Bat. 1, 2, 4.
Its funny because when we see the manga they are kinda "rivals" without the cosmic form.
The ult. Is nerfed. Same with garou.
Final hunt. It used to able to use twice befo. And metal bat also having the same treatment. So yeah
The " grab " bat and garou.
Now 3 chara lef (except atomic)
Saitama is all for laughs. All saitama mains are basically "skilled players" because its style is melee with no grab makin it harder to use.
Plus the ult is basically free kills and troll. "Like countering ults" garou ult users used to be scared of omni punch because "haha, wait why can't i move for 0.5 second"
Saitama "omni punch lol" .

So its was basically a ult breaking ult.
Its doable withbats too. "Death blow? Haha Omni punched" to work wait 2.6 seconds after its activated. Then use omni. The counter ends with a smash then you omni punch your op (the ground smash thingy)

Basically a w for runners. To counter ninja just use genos cuz its all range.
Ninja also gas unique combos, i fougth a pro ninja main, he used
"M1 3x tge uppercut then 4th skill. Then 3rd skill to catch then blah blah blah" basically a combo extender. Out of all the ults. Sonics ult sucks. all cancelable. The grab skill (vulnerable to final hunt, death blow v2 and vasically any awakening except ninja ult awakening, and saitama ults)
So yeh.
Next genos.
Ive been an saitama main and a 2nd genos main.
Ive been called a spammer multiple times cuz its the only combo genos could do.
It has unique combo i dont want to teach. and its ult.
Death counter, and deathblow wont work againts 2nd genos skill. People i used this againts (bat death blow)

Sonic good too, ult is OP, just need like 3 moves to down a 100 HP player.
The non ult Sonic needs a little bit of strategy if the player keeps blocking with either whirlwind kick, scatter or explosive shuriken since they are block breakers.
You can make some OP combos with it too but you need to have a little distance from the player to actually make it work

you forgot one thing, "everything depends on the player"
To defeat genos you have to keep them from ragdolling. So do a combo with only three m1s because they can cancel your moves with just one ragdoll cancel.
Beating sonic is a tough one but you have to have block for scatter and flash strike. With 2 you just you have to hold your block and it will allow you to move after. 4 you have to just get lucky and side dash.
To beat metal bat you have to just get lucky. 1,3, and 4 are all not blockable. (They made 4 unblockable now cause idk why). So if they use beatdown as a combo starter then you have to keep yoy block up.
Garou is a tough one. Most pros use him because he attacks the fastest and heals after every kill. One slip up or if he counters you can throw off yoyr entire fight. So you have to always have your ragdoll cancel ready.
Saitama is just a difficult one to. He has 1,3,4that are not blockable. He has coverage for everything and everytime he kills he gets more ult. He is one of the strongest characters but the flaw is the ragdoll cancel and a block after shove depending if they forward dash instead of side dashing. So saitama is a really tough one to beat.
