This game made me and my brother HUGE Starwars fans when we played it as 12yr olds back in the early 90s. 30 years, my God, where does the time go? What great freaking memories.

A funny thought came to me when I played this game after seeing Episode 2 way back in 2002. I imagine in the video game universe of the Original Trilogy, after being given his father's lightsaber by Obi-Wan, Luke decided: "Hey, to test my lightsaber skills, I feel like slaughtering some sandpeople." I like to assume that maybe Luke feels the subconscious urge to avenge his grandmother.
In the first level you can get 2 more blaster powerup. The first if you stay to destroy the scorpions that will appear repeatedly on the first stone of the level. The second if in the area where the green rats come out you stay to destroy all the ones that come out at a point where they appear to the left and right. Along with the powerup you will get 2 big hearts.
Bro, you made this look WAAAAAAY too easy... I literally played this for the first time a while ago on an SNES emulator with an XBOX controller... I gave up at the sand crawler jumping platform section, I literally spent around 40mins trying to get through it... This series is notorious for being insanely difficult. Nicely done!

But as an avid Star Wars fan playing games based on my 3 favorite movies all time changed everything for me. From this game on I loved video games and still do. I love this game so much and still go back and play it on occasion.
34:32 Back when I had this game, I loved to play this section as Chewie. When I got to where the band was playing, I would switch between Up & Down on the controls to make Chewie "dance" to the band.
So basically it was actually LUKE who went all one-man-army on that sandcrawler and killed all those Jawas while on the way to see Ben. Obviously we knew Ben/Obi-Wan was wrong when he said that stormtrooper marksmanship was superior.
What a game. The day I beat the Sandcrawler was one of the best in my entire (gamer) life. The lightsaber was mostly useless in general 😢 And the bosses were weird, I mean, what is a "Lava Beast Jawenko"? Sounds like the name of a sentai monster 🤣
If you jump to the Cantina level it just looks like Luke is a madman shooting up the place for no reason while innocent aliens try to stop his killing spree. :) :D lol.
14:42-surviving the next 30 seconds was the hardest part of the game: timing the blind drop, the hops to the platforms, the lag mid-hop when you reach the boss, the back wall trying to push you into the lava, and the fireballs which can push you in. Oh, and try it if you die once and lose your blaster upgrades. 😬😬😬
It's nigh impossible to win with only the flame gun. I tried it many many times and never could. If I died at that boss inside the sandcrawler, that'd be the end of my run for that day lol
I remember playing this as a kid and 1 of 2 things would happen. 1 I wouldn't beat stage 1 cuz that stupid sand worm or I would get lucky and kill the sand worm and be able to make. It half way through stage 4 ( inside the sand crawler) and never encounter the lava beast .

The hanger bay really pissed me off as a kid. The TIE fighters would just knock you into those holes.
