    No way I'm paying for Deluxe for early access. I'm still wondering whether I want to pay for a minor upgrade. I really hate this sports sim trend of annual releases with minor improvements asking for full tag price.

      I agree. The standard version is on Steam for €55,- in my country and having seen the game on more than 2 live streams is keeping me on the fence about buying this year's version.

      @lisaruhm6681 Do you mean the game doesn't show that she completed any races? From what I can see online, she did race for the full season, though she failed to gain points with her best result being a 12th place finish.
      Maybe they are not counting it as she has a 2 year gap since then without an F2 or F3 team. Though that doesn't make sense since it doesn't state they have to be consecutive seasons, but let's face it, the game doesn't always work as intended.

    If Williams are the worst team then it shows how out of touch these games are, because they haven't been the worst car on the grid at any point this year, it's been a consistent mix of AT, AR and Haas

    I just wish this was an actual team management game.. but they made a race engineer sim that insists you hire two race engineers who then do nothing.

    • @thebiggerb4915
      @thebiggerb4915 10 месяцев назад +2

      All motorsport management games are like this, if you just sat on the pit wall with no interaction with the racing it would be boring.

    • @benmckinlaywilliamson3394
      @benmckinlaywilliamson3394 10 месяцев назад +2

      @@thebiggerb4915 That wasn't my point and no they aren't. Of course the the race Sim element has to be that way.
      My point is, that prior games had a meaningful management experience away from the track. This game does not, at all.
      You could skip every on track session in a game like Grand Prix World and still have a fulfilling gaming experience - Im not saying that's how anyone should play but the point is, there was actual team management to do.
      Negotiations were complex and required planning and distribution of resources. You had to invite new and existing sponsors to races and choose how to accommodate them, which in turn unlocked contract extensions, greater payout s, technical partnerships, works deals, guaranteed in season upgrade schedules..
      Upgrades to your car were not always positive, or came with potential compromises. An engine power upgrade could cause vibration in the car which caused rear wing failure.
      Your car changed year in year, visually as well as technically. Sponsors moved between teams, so did suppliers and partners.
      I just think it's pretty lame that they can't match a game that's around thirty years old on some pretty basic features.
      Outside of racing sessions, which can be remarkably dull and frustrating because that's the nature of racing sometimes.. there is no meat to sink your teeth into. That's a real problem.

      @@benmckinlaywilliamson3394a thing to consider Is that it is an annual release and frontier just can't possibly have the time within the short time spans to add everything possible. I don't doubt that if they keep the game going for 5-10 years then eventually they will have alot more management mechanics in the game as there's only so much in the Racing aspect. And in my opinion they added quite alot since last year's game (though they weren't good at advertising and letting people know about the additions) and they added alot of things that people were complaining about in last years game which is positive and shows they listen to what the players want. I'm hopeful that in the long run f1 manager will be more of a manager game and have in depth details but it's not like anyone could expect it soon with annual releases

    • @vurogj
      @vurogj 10 месяцев назад +3

      @@marekshole2945 but then you have the problem of people who want those features not buying the current editions, and complaining about it, and Liberty saying to Frontier "The game is getting bad public reactions and isn't enhancing our brand, we don't want to extend the license past the initial three years."

    • @benmckinlaywilliamson3394
      @benmckinlaywilliamson3394 10 месяцев назад +2

      @@vurogj That's a real risk, sadly.
      Personally, if people are having fun with it that's great.
      But I'm in a segment, perhaps a minority segment, who say - whatever this is, it isn't really a team management sim and it's not what I want.
      I think that's ok. I've never felt like me not liking something is a reason it should change, but I still think it's feedback worth sharing.

      I would say the changes to the driving simulations are minimal. Practice sessions are still bad with slower cars impeding faster ones and you still have impeding issues in qualifying. Races are slightly better thanks to the "top-up" and ERS assist functions, as well as better tire temps display. Tire temp management can also give you an advantage in qualification if you have two warm-up laps, but you have to micro-manage that yourself. I think management aspects have had a good improvement, especially to the stat improvement system and the part development and research. You also have a lot more dilemmas to solve via email. Lastly, part wear is a lot more tough from what I have experienced in my save, parts cost way more and last less and you have to budget that against the budget cap.

    • @lisaruhm6681
      @lisaruhm6681 10 месяцев назад

      I would say, that depends on what and how much improvements you want/expect.

  • @wylsey

    Don't get why you said that Williams is the weakest team in F1 manager 23, their car is actually not that bad and unlike F1M 22 they can actually challenge for points first season.
    It is the Alfa Romeo team are whipping boys in this years game and they are lucky if they get even a single point during the first 2 seasons.

    • @DecathlonGamer
      @DecathlonGamer  Месяц назад

      No, but here's the short version: prioritize underfloor, then wings, finally chassis/suspension/sidepods. For facilities, business side first to make money and develop staff. Then get into the spendy ones that help develop the car.
