I have noticed your main is loose footed. Any thoughts on the difference between loose footed and attached main sail with the San Juan 21?

I like it better than my old one design mainsail. Notice that you can see over boom yet under the foot. I play with the outhaul to get more belly for more power in light wind.

what is the size of your winches? the ones mounted on your cabin.
I need to get one for my project boat, similar size.

I guess they are about 3.5” in diameter. Maybe the base is 4”
