very much agreed. all the fox movies were terrible, even logan. no regard for the source material what so ever. they scrambled bits of different elements and plugged them into their own awful stories with no attention to relationships, character arcs or even the eras when the characters lived.

“I love you, son” and “I love you, Logan” absolutely broke me. And "His name was Gambit. Remember it!" Gave me legit chills. You know Rogue wasn't holding back, and that slow-mo shot of her flying through the hall with tears in her eyes was pure art. Painful art.

Interesting considering I was under the impression from the last conversations in Magneto's head that Xavier finally managed to get through to him and helped heal some of the pain & trauma that shaped his point of view. The things Erik & Xavier were saying and the look on Erik's face came across, to me at least, like Erik WANTED to change but didn't know how because of his past experiences.

Totally heard Magneto's influence in Apocalypse when he said "so much pain my children so much death"
This show did two things: It took a nostalgic show and improved on the original in every possible way. The second thing they did was to make this show feel like it is part of a larger universe. The cameos were fun but each one was used perfectly to work within the story. This is an X-Men story but, the cameos show they are in a living, breathing world with Avengers, The Fantastic Four, X-Force, Spider-Man, Daredevil and so many more. This was a true MCU. The fact that they were able to do this in 10 episodes averaging 21 minutes each is mind-blowing. The animation, writing and direction are all on point. They made these characters so vital and iconic. I am blown away at what this creative team was able to give us. I loved every frame. Every scene. Every bit of dialog had meaning and wasn't wasted for cheap laughs. I can't wait to rewatch this and study everything with a closer eye. Wow... Great reaction, guys.

I just gotta say that this was probably the most damn perfect finale of a Marvel show since the finale of Loki season 2. The action, the suspense, the cameos, the post-credits scene. All of it made for one hell of a finale, and waiting for it was definitely worth me staying up until about 4:00am this morning.
Also, the Egyptian remix of the X-Men motif gave me some serious chills, and the way Beast oh-so very calmly said "Oh, dear" was quite possibly the _nicest_ way he could've said "Welp, we're screwed."
Anyways, I cannot fucking wait for season 2!!!!

Although there are jokes about Rogue’s current physique, I was drawn to how beautifully shaped her arms were. Storm’s physique is beautifully drawn too. Their bodies look more like athletic and shapely but not exaggerated.
I remembered a part in TAS when Gambit caught Rogue or he was carrying her and he made a comment that she had to lay off the fried chicken lol so that was definitely when she was drawn curvier
We got ALL the cameos… Daredevil was my fav!! 💯
That Man of Steel moment with Lenore Zanns Rogue was epic. You think you can hurt my mother moment happened with Rogue wanting to avenge Gambit. He is for sure coming back as one of the Four Horseman with that post credit scene with Apocalypse. We are getting the age of Apocalypse in the present timeline.
Best episode yet. Got teary eyed when Professor X was with Magneto trying to help him remember his name 😭
Jubilee's "fireworks" are atoms going off in tiny nuclear/atomic explosions. We find out later that she, in the comics, has had her powers grow in strength but she always keeps them at the level that we see to keep from causing too much destruction and she doesn't want to accidentally kill anyone. Basically she's causing free-floating atoms to explode. Her powers operate similar to Gambit than Dazzler but visually looks more similar to Dazzler. Unlike Gambit, she doesn't need to charge something nor touch it. She can just make it go "Pop!"
This finale was so crazy to watch! That Post-Credit Scene with Apocalypse was so great! 👍

The way magneto says “vater” the look in his eyes the tremble in his voice to show the fear he’s feeling was so moving. His calls to his father in such time of fear ….. Great show

What a phenomenal season of Marvel Television! This season, finale was absolutely incredible, and it really had it all! Great writing, jaw-dropping animation, masterful music, amazing voice acting performances, brilliant pacing, respect for the original source material/90s animated series, and lots of fun/really cool Cameos and Easter Eggs for the fans to enjoy! I'm so excited/hyped for Season 2 and will be counting down the days! This finale and the whole season get a 100/10 from me!

The fact People don't realize the importance of Mary Jane in that scene is upsetting. In the series spider man, Mary Jane was tossed into a portal and was never found again, the series ended with Peter going to look for her. This scene confirms that he SUCCEDED in finding her, it gave Peter closure. People think it's just a cool easter egg

Rachel is the old woman called Mother Askani. She was time placed and she had to use her remaining Phoenix Force to pull their parents Jean and Scott to the future to rear Nathan. Read The Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix comics.

This Is It! Glad to have been part of this journey. Something I will tell time and time again, to my children and grandchildren.
This episode covers all the bases, has a great fight scene with the big bad, great dialogue and memorable lines, great cliffhanger and post credits with a lot of cameos of fan favorites.
Morph getting to tell Wolverine that they love him was such a lovely moment. They presented as Jean, but that was their true feelings.
This show nailed the relationship between Magento and Charles. They both want to being each other into the ideal world they build for mutants, they just disagree on how to get there and that’s why they fight. Because one person wants to bring the other into a world where mutants thrive amongst humans while the other fights for a world without xmen
That kurt vs bastion fight mirrored Thanos vs Spidey in infinity war
Never got Gambit back but the X-men never forgot his sacrifice either and Rogue’s line was great also looks like Apocalypse might bring him back.

He's gonna be back. If you watched the post credit scene when Apocalypse is holding a burnt out queen card, Gambit is a part of the 4 horsemen named as Death.

I love how they essentially did the Seige Perilous to set up an Apocalypse story. Did anyone else almost feel like it was a tongue in cheek reference to Wolverine and the X-Men's second season that never was?
Edit after watching the episode a second time: I forgot to mention how much I lost my mind at Shadowcat being on Forge's wall of faces, Scott and Jean meeting old lady Rachel, and Bastion's line at Jubilee reminding me of her "Independence Day" X-Treme attack from X-Men Legends after she used the trick she learned when she was trapped in a video game to clip Bastion's wings. And Kurt vs Bastion had me on the edge of my seat afraid Bastion would use probability to make Kurt reappear around his arm, killing our fuzzy elf.
Seeing daredevil was just amazing, i literally JUST finished reading my mark waid daredevil omnibus before watching this

I thought it was cool that Jean tried out the Phoenix, but honestly, I think she's way more awesome when she's rocking her own powers instead of relying on some cosmic entity permanently . So glad Jubilee got a power up!!! "Slay me with the 4th of July"
Exactly, it wasn't the Phoenix fire, it was her own telekinesis with the blue power signature that made that claw & just plucking Sinister up from the ground to face her, & then she literally sucked & deleted the DNA out of him!!!!!! GO MISS GREY MRS SUMMERS.

So coy. I have a 15 year old and she grew up watching X-Men on dvd when she went to bed and when she found out that 97 was coming out I was told we have to watch it together. And it made my heart melt coz I watched her be involved with the story and watched her cry when gambit died (she has always loved him) trust me this time is something I will never forget.

I think it's pretty obvious with several scenes now the morph loves wolverine. But I don't think logan likes him like that and they'll stay friends but I hope morph finds savage wolverine and help him out.
I freaking love XMen 97. Everything was amazing. My favorite part was Beast “oh dear.” This was a homage to the “oh my stars” episode in the original series where he says “Oh Dear.”
Best Disney plus finale for sure. Gambits return as the Horseman of Death has me hyped!

I've been watching this series weekly since it came out. I don't have any full thoughts yet, but so far, I give this series an A+. THIS is how you do a revival.

I remember each week i would go on to disney + and wait for the episodes to release. It was worth it every time. I can proudly give this show the honor of my third favorite animated disney show.

10/10 season! I got my 2 fave villains (x-cutioner and bastion) and so many heart wrenching moments! They nailed everything from accurate powers to the wild psychic moments that made the original series so great.
I think the four horsemen will be Gambit, Wolverine, Morph, and Storm because they basically confirmed Gambit being one, that's how Wolverine gets his adamantium back in the comics, and Morph and Storm are the only X-Men to not have their location revealed in the end of the season.
Maybe controversial, but I want only one X-Man on the Horsemen. Thats how it was for a long time. You can use a lot of supporting characters who died on Genosha instead, like Maddie or Banshee (Necrosha coming?)

Additionally, using a gender neutral pronoun like they or them in place of gendered pronouns is acceptable even if you’re not referring to someone who is non-binary.

Loved this, but I so wish we saw Wolverine on the brink of death floating towards the light and Jean Grey pulls him back like in the comics.
I agree about comics vocabulary. Growing up I was clear that the contextual use of terms/words and [pseudo-]science in their pages helped strengthen my acumen and interest in sciences, math, tech and comprehension, on top of my artistry.
The way the asteroid disappeared was very similar to how Apocalypse chose his horseman in X-Men Evolution. At least I thought it did
