I can definitely see how you would feel that way growing up in Oviedo! From my perspective living in Los Angeles and even Downtown Orlando I do appreciate the small town feel it has over some other areas.
I was born and grew up in Orlando. I've lived in Sanford and I lived in Oviedo and Oviedo I miss. I moved to Charleston South Carolina 5 years, its not the same,You talking about. Traffic? You should sit in the traffic here compared to the traffic down there. Charleston is growing so so much it's crazy.
I love Oviedo! We have been living here for 5 years! It is the best place and district! We use to live in a townhouse in Oviedo Park, but now bought our house very close to this area, near Lockwood Blvd
If u love an indoor lifestyle for 9 months out of the year, u may be ok w/ Florida. It’s way way too hot and muggy to be outside, except to walk to your car from April through the end of Nov. or Dec…. For a good 9 months u don’t see walkers, runners, bikers, tennis, or anything else outside, unless it’s a picnic under big shade trees, where ppl sit, bc it’s too hot to move. I hate to mow the lawn or even take the trash out. Too hot. My water bill was $200.00, and that’s w/ NO dishwasher, and NO washing machine, for 2 ppl. But I had to water new plants, bc we’re getting little rain.

Hi Jacqueline! Honestly we rarely have them! A lot of people are worried about hurricanes but unless you are in a flood zone we are pretty safe in central Florida. The latest hurricane caused a lot of flood damage in the low sea level areas but most of Oviedo is 30’ or more above sea level so no worries you’ll be fine! They are extremely rare. The news media loves to declare tornado “watches” and “warnings” every time a summer thunderstorm rolls through, but I have lived in central Florida most of my life and never seen one. Tornadoes are not a concern.
For accurate info. Look up all the data online by the city or by the county. Any hurricanes? Any tornados? What areas flood? U don’t want to buy in flood zones. The Tampa Bay Area has a 17% risk of a hit. The highest risk is the panhandle, the next is Miami, and clearly, the ft. Myers area has had 2 hits in the past few years.
Well only people can be racist not an actual place... But if your insinuating that the people that live in Oviedo are racist that would be very false. I personally don't know a single person in Oviedo that is racist but no matter where I live I ALWAYS find a great church that actually preaches the teachings of Jesus so I try to surround myself with people that strive to love all. I have lived in Oviedo 33 yrs. Property value maintains and schools are great!

I have lived here it the Oviedo area for 29 years, actually in Oviedo for the past 14 years and never had a Tornado 🌪, that I know of
