      @letstalk29 3 года назад +1

      @@amac3855 don't worry just try to know which grade the injury is.. if it's grade 2 or grade 1 don't worry it'll heal automatically by taking rest and applying ice on it. Don't do any workout or movements which applies pressure to your calf muscle. Taking rest is the best cure to it. After recovering do light weight calf rehabilitation sessions. You'll be fine

      @@letstalk29 thanks the doctor is pretty sure it's a second the good news is it didn't turn blue or purple he told me to just rest and ice can't wait to be back on the soccer field tho.. anyway thanks for getting back 🤙🏼

    Pulled calf muscle yesterday. Stepped on a "speed bump" in parking lot and felt intense pain in L calf. Cannot put weight on left leg. I can feel a mass or lump on left side of calf. Applied R.I.C.E. treatment and going to VA tomorrow (they will probably amputate right ear but that's another story, lol)

    This video pretty much answered all my questions and seems very precise. Yes I am 40 years old and played football after 16 yeard without properly warming up. It took me 7 minutes before I stared to Limp. Smile.

    My initial treatment after I collapsed was Ice elevation and hot packs just as described in the video. The pain was bad, worse than burns I have experienced.

  • @ElizaDolittle

    I have a pain in the upper/outer region of my left calf muscle - rather than the mid-calf region. I don't have any of the symptoms you mentioned. I can walk without a limp, I could probably also run. There is no bruising or swelling and I only really feel pain if I try to sit on my calf muscles, as in when I go down on my knees and then sit on my calves - very painful!! I do yoga, which is most probably what caused my injury. Initially I thought that by stretching it I could heal it, then I heard that could make it worse. I've been deep massaging in a horizontal direction and only doing chair-assisted yoga sessions that don't involve any stretching of the calf muscles at all. Hopefully it goes away soon. It's been almost a month!

    Think I have torn both calfs, can't walk at all, only movement is when I'm on my toes with bent knees, most pain in the calfs when I straighten my leg and bend my foot upwards towards me

    After a LONG summer break of me doing nothing but playing video games, I guess I pushed myself to far in PE. I was playing football 3 days ago, I felt it right away, however I mistaken it as a cramp and continued playing... However the pain is getting worse and worse. It hurts SO much when I get on my tippy-toes, SO MUCH. I am 15 and don't know what to do.. I plan on going to a Hospital tomorrow, I can move my ankle in ALL directions, it just HURTS.

    My initial tear was not treated and several days later I squatted and when I stood up I fell all the way to the ground. It is now ten years later and it is still painful. I have received testosterone as a treatment and it has reduced the burning in my calf.

      +Troy WHAT!!!!!!!! I tore both of mine on wednesday, and I did a heavy squat session of 275lb for reps on friday. am I royally fucked?! they hurt so bad and it's sunday, can barely walk

    • @jraonm5950
      @jraonm5950 2 года назад

      Squatting is the last thing one should do when the calf is torn. It's almost six months and I'm still not free from the contraction of the muscle... But it's healing and another ten percent pain is remaining.

    I have, incredibly, strong calf muscles, but I believe I overworked them. I'd been running 4-5 days a week, on top of working them out once a week with weights.
    Today (and I do this much weight all the time) I was pressing 540lbs (12 plates) with my calves. All of a sudden I felt a pop in my left calf. I'm 38 years old. Just wondering how long something like this would take to heal. It sucks! I love lifting weights, and running. I want to get back to ASAP!

    i felt a pop in my calf but all the pain when i move it in the direction u say causes pain its on like the middle left side rub it and omg pain put my heal towards the ceiling omg pain! do i hav a torn muscle or ligament? please let me know the best way u can. thank u.

      @kingjohnson2034 7 лет назад +1

      Scott Young same thing bro. yes you do.. I wss able to put weight on mine the very next day. had to go to work. so the tear can and pain can very. as docs call it "grade". RICE it homie. out hasn't been a week yet and I can point heels to the ceiling with little to pain. make sure you stretch that hamstring!!!! and rotate your ankle so that it doesn't get stiff

    • @itr0863
      @itr0863 7 лет назад +2

      just tonite i had a flag football game, after a few series back and forth, i pushed off for a route as a WR and i immediately heard a POP too. i limped off and directly went home and now i'm doing RICE right now. I'm nervous...my foot right now is in position of comfort elevated with ice pack below on my calf. I can gas peddle push maybe 3-4 inches, but going in the other direction towards my face, i can't flex my foot that way.

      thank you sir. i made an appointment with an urgent care since my insurance has $0 co pay for that. i just wanna see how they do range of motion with my foot, i know it's gonna be painful. maybe get a referral for an MRI, just to make sure.

      camelvids10 no, what you are dealing with is a charley horse, try to move that calf if you can if not then a trip to the ER may be needed
