I use the Royal Dane chopped ham and pork, I cut into squares the night before , put it in a plastic bag and add chili powder and salt, then give it a good shake to coat it. It stays on the hair with a standard bait stop with no problems. £1.50 a can from Poundland and b and m.
@@mwsports Ha ha obviously I’m not really anything to do with sainsburys ( just a humble barbel hunter ) But will try the brand now, I already use danish ones I use the same method of hooking and also the meat screws ( korum ) Had a quick look at your channel, you don’t need sponsors with fish like that! Tight line’s and more subs Cheers Tim
🤣🤣🤣 The innuendos in this video had me in stitches. My Missus too who was secretly listening in whilst playing candy crush🤦♂️ This IS the video we've all been waiting for, and a great comparison 👍🏻 Looks like I'll have to stock up from Sainsbury then lads. Mat, leave some for me at Telford mate 😉 Keep em coming Korum!! 👍🏻
I have used spam for like 30 years, I have been on some evening sessions for 4 hours fishing and I have netted like 40 carp on some good evenings in the summer time, the lake I goto is heavily stocked with 4 to 15lbs roughly I love fishing it......
The reason why the spam is softer in the tin is because it is cooked in the tin during processing. The juices have nowhere to run and so hold into the product. The spam in the plastic is cooked before being packaged as heating up the plastic would simply melt it.
Great video and a great laugh on a great subject that most angler's have their own answer to but it's always to see someone else's opinion and if I could get it now I'd use Tulip what me and my brother was shown used as kids if we didn't eat it first
Yes it was good fun to do something not totally tackle focussed. We’d all been using loads of luncheon meat through the summer, especially float fishing, so we thought we’d do a proper test!
Mix whatever e.g chunky dog meat with a pack of gelatine and let it set!! you can add flavours and food dye to colour, you are only limited to your imagination! I found a good one is cooked hempseed, gelatine and black food dye and it works! It takes a bit of practise getting the right consistency with the amount of gelatine but that's all part of the fun and its cheap to buy! Dont forget good old black pudding that works aswell!!
Great job guys. I would really like to see you trying the top 3 meats out on some stretches of the Kennet where the Barbel are hard to find but absolutely massive
We didn't, couldn't keep a rod in the water long enough. The river had come up overnight and we kept getting wiped out by weed and other debris so we gave up 🤣.
@@dylanscally Lots of tackle shops stock it at the moment. My local shop Cannock Angling have it. Leigh Tackle up north. Browns down south. To name but a few.
Sandwiches of princess ham and tomato at my grandparents caravan in stourport after a days fishing, brings back some good memories

Great video boys. Personally I cut all NY meat at home. And then put 8in a plastic bag, with a bit of flavouring. I hate seeing tins on the banks.
Smart move. We've a great video with Ellis Brazier on boosting luncheon meat on the channel, well worth a look
Celebrity Luncheon Meat used to be brilliant but can't seem to get it anymore.
Superb video, great subject, you two had me in hysterics , 😂😂😂
Thanks for the video
Tim ( CEO j Sainsburys )
😂
Can you sponsor us Mr CEO of Sainsbury’s 😅 a couple of pallets ought to do it 😂

Gonna give my 8ft opportunists a bashing at Melverley tomorrow. 😉👍🏻
Be lucky Kenny. Always fun on the 8fters

Funny one, that was 😂 and interesting too 💪🏻 The wind mill test was best
One hunk of meat windmilling another 🙂
Hehehe 😂

The black pepper spam was super and bacon grill 😋
Cheers fellas. That's saved me some time. Sweetcorn review next please
We’re on it 🌽
The Orker meat is similar in flavour/smell to the Black Pepper stuff. Not quite the same consistency though!
I use the Tulip brand, they also do a bacon grill which is good....never had any presentation problems with either product.
Great video guys! What a laugh!
Go on lads. Great vid 😎 the fin used to use that olde oak ham when meat paste fishing was a thing
That’s interesting! Definitely got some uses. I want to try it in a Grub Feeder!

Brilliant video, great to watch thank you
Spam is used for 90% of my Barbel fishing. Normally glugged and frozen to draw in the flavour/colour. Also don’t use square edged baits.
Great tip 🎉

Dynamites luncheon meat is the one, prefect consistent
Wouldn't want to eat that one though 🤮.
We didn’t include anything that was marked ‘not for human consumption’.
Tulip Bacon grill my favourite
🤣 Best one yet! Interesting outcome, cheers lads
Tulip back in the day 😎
No mention of one of the most important properties of meat for the river angler: buoyancy/sinking test.
Bacon grill from Iceland is my go to meat
Lol lol lol. So much innuendo 😂
The best meat I found was Celebrity. The flavour doesn't matter as it's best flavoured with garlic works on the Dove and Tent.
Has anyone tried PEK on the hook, it's not bad fried
We couldn’t find it anywhere to include in the test. PEK shortage 😅
I’ve used it worst one I think
Spam 👍
Bacon grill was the best
Can always rely on childish behaviour from 2 guys when the subject is whose meat is best 🤣
🤣🤣
How many fish did you catch

@@KorumFishing you guys are meant to be the pro's arnt you. Whats going on.
Don’t worry. We’ve had plenty since 😜 funnily enough on the Orker meat. I bought loads as it was so cheap. Barbel like it a lot!
@@mwsports where do you buy that orker meat?
