    Paul Rodriguez was the first Latino Comedian I remember seeing, and I loved him from the first set that I saw. He's a legend.

      Yes he did indeed, appears like Johnny dabbled with Spanish a bit, smart! Particularly in those days that very few white people knew Spanish, most all they knew was “no mas” specifically the sports fans.

    Paul at this time was hot. New Norman Lear produced sitcom, new film and first shot on Carson. I think they were grooming him to be the next Latino comic sensation. For a while, in the 80s he was headin that way. Paul’s a legend and an elder statesman in comedy.

    Paul was 29 years old when he performed on this show on January 4, 1984. He is 67 years old now. His son, Paul Rodriguez Jr., is a professional skateboarder.
