I dont know why a lot of people hate logitech speakers but this speaker sounds clean and bassy without distortion fine :)
i don't understand it either, for less than $300 you get 5.1 surround, powerful subwoofer + optical inputs, remote control and some other features :)
For the money its good but not more. The THX is just a joke and not useful. Logitech lost quality. The z5500 was much better. But at the end its just a 300 dollar system and you can hear this. And the System does not have 500 Watt RMS. Many say this system is very good and the sound is perfect but thats not true. For the money good but very good overall? Really not... Its the reason why many people hate.

One of good speakers is gigaworks s750. In my country, price about 150 euros right now, ant it has 2way speaker, so, its gives much more cleaner sound, but.. Its old, amplifier is not very good (to much heat inside) and etc.

10 years. If the Z906 lasts at least 5 years I would buy it now. But check the reviews and most dead in under 2 months. Also, they should bring back the z-5500.

Great system I love the sound of Logitech. I have different Logitech systems around my house and they are all sound amazing.
We have only seend Logitech on a desktop speakers. Really the Z906 is a killer. The bass can easily get the person in mood to enjoy the music. Looking forward ro buy.

I was waiting for you to do a video on this system :) Bought it over a year ago and I am still happy with it. And as the video shows, plenty of bass. Maybe a little too much for music so I set the subwoofer volume either at 1/4 or half way, that usually gives a good balance and you can really push the system to it's full potential before maxing the subwoofer out. Cheers
But the Drivers are all Tangband which are very good

Why should they sound horrible they are just satelites and they are build to be compact an i have heard them and they sound nice
but for the price you won´t get anything better
The Genius is not better its just build out of wood really thin crappy wood which is worse the the hard plastik of the logitech and the microlab (about 270€) which isn´t even 5.1 or the edifier(alsmost double with 450€)cost more the the logitech which is 250€

If only the Z-5500 was still being made. THAT was a fantastic system. As nice as the Z906 is, its actually a few steps back in audio quality and even technology. The Z-5500 even sold for the same price as the Z-906 lol. Logitech is more about profit today then about quality.

Z5500 had more bass, but even less medium range. So actually z906 are little better for anything but techno, hip-hop etc. Best for games and movies tho...
@@BoyNextGen Man, I hope you're right here. I had my eye on the Z-5500 system since it was released a long time ago, but didn't have the funds back then. Today, I just bought a Z906 and awaiting delivery. Don't listen to much techno or hiphop, but do listen to metal/rock etc. More mid range sounds good to me.

This is on the list to replace my Logitech G51 setup. Granted speaker tech doesn't change rapidly like GPUs but the Logitech Z906 has also been out for a long while.
This system is fucking amazing. It will shake your room blv me. I have this system. Hold your heart before you turn up the volume. Its bass will sweep your mind. I use it in 20 feet×17 feet room. Still the room feels small at 70% volume. If you want feature go for sony, but this system is only for sound lovers.

Do You have z906 ?
Just letting you know if you have this system, if it says 3D then you arent in 5.1 surround mode, optical only supports surround sound with DTS encoding. You will need a patched audio driver to enable DTS or one with DTS out of the box to use surround sound.
You will know it's working when the decode LED lights up on the console
So you cant plug it to the comeputer and have 5.1 right away?
@@ericgrevstad4503 nope, you need Dolby related drivers. I can show you how to convert your existing drivers into Dolby ones if you want. It's well worth it haha
@@ericgrevstad4503 You only need the patched audio driver if you want to use optical to connect the pc with the system. It works fine if you use the provided direct cables.

Great Sound test. Just wondering, how would these compare to Definitive Technology ProCinema600? Obviously, the Definitive doesn't have a receiver so it could depend on that. Which one sounds better and has more clarity and surround sound? One thing that I noticed is that the Logitech satellites are only one way as opposed to definitive which are two way (tweeter and woofer). Also, is the clarity and power better than the Logitech Z623? Thanks for your advice and great video!
for ProCinema600 look better satellite speakers, they have extra tweeter, that give a better clearity for sound, because logitech fullrange have some problems for mid and high freq.
Okay, so you're saying that the definitive would have clearer highs and warmer and clearer mids. Would the bass be tighter and richer or more powerful? Also, have you listened to the Definitive system before? Thanks for the great advice and love your videos!

No se no confío mucho en logitech, hacen bueno producto pero como que no destacan mucho.
Por que les molesta que por tan poco dinero suenen tan bien como otros de el doble de precio. Compre unas logitech hace 12 años y todavia funcionan perfectamente , no se por que aca arriba segun al año mueren y bla bla. Te las recomiendo si es tu primer sistema y si te gusta mucho el bajo. Yo tengo las Z623 y el bajo es buenisimo para ser un bajo de 7 pulgadas. Claro que destacan mucho pero tampoco te voy a decir que wow son mejores que yamaha , onkyo marantz etc etc por que no es cierto . hay que recordad que fueron hechas para PC . Pero te repito , nada nada nada mal el sonido y el bajeo es muy bueno tipo sonido de carro , aunque para mi gusto , los bajos son un poco escandalozos y ami me gusta un poco mas refinado.
@@ahyhijooooo si he escuchado el z623 suenan bien para su precio tienen unos graves bastante contundente yo diría que exagerado, en frecuencias bajas y medias no me convence mucho. No es un mal productos precio rendimiento no si es de lo mejor.
Claro no lo vamos a comparar con un sistema Cómo onkyo,polk,denon etc que salen 3 o 4 veces más caro,
Pero este modelo que aparece en el video no lo he escuchado aunque tampoco es barato yo no lo compraría creo que hay mejores opciones desde mi punto de vista.
Pero en parlantes baratos y que suenan bien hay unos edifier los r2700 que desde mi punto de vista suenan increíble por su precio pero claro son 2.0
También hacen sistemas 2.1 y 5.1 y desde mi punto de vista suenan mucho mejor. Me impresionó esa marca hace productos de calidad con precios bastante buenos.

Have these hooked up with two SVS prime towers, an SVS Ultra center, and a Rythmik lv12. These make pretty good surround speakers, but wouldnt recommend using them as a 5.1. OG Sub and center channel were blown up within a few months, so rather than replace the whole system, kept the speakers that still worked, bought some SVS towers and a center, along with a Rythmik sub and Pioneer Elite receiver/Emotiva power amp, and it works pretty well. Overall, Id rate it 6.9/10
Hey! Nice video👍 can you help me out though? My two satellites are not working/no sound when I play on 3D stereo mode. Only satellites and 1 center speaker give out sound. Is it supposed to be like that or is something wrong? The satellites work perfectly when played on 4.1. Can you help me out on this issue, would be great to hear back from you, Cheers!

i bought they on ebay or amazon, cheapest that can find. there no need expensive stands. omni is good price/performance sound card for home use.

i have this z906 speaker system connected to creative sound blaster g6 via optical cable. the problem i m facing is that= when i open sound blaster connect- setup settings-speeakers- when i test the speakers the both rear speakers make sound at the same time and when i test the center speaker then the both frount left and right speakers also make sound but little less than center. I think the problem is in sound card it only produces virtual 7.1 and 5.1 output. but if the sound card is capable of producing virtual sorround sound then it should also be capable of producing dedicated channel output to the speakers. on the other side i tried everything but the sound card is not giving output in dedicated 5.1 channels. & the decoding light on the speakers console never glows. what do u think about this problem . please help me. I dont have another output source for the optical output like a tv or desktop pc & even dont have another speaker system that supports optical output...

Issue I have is positioning the back speakers so they are behind me ,I don't have a sofa in the centre of my room ,if they are positioned at the side of you your not getting the 5.1 experience ,does raising them on the wall have a better effect ?

What the heck is the point of audio examples recorded through a stereo mic, compressed, and then played out of someone else's speakers?
Well if it sounds good when it is compresse, it sounds really good when its not so you get a rough indication

why you need HDMI ?
@@Techscrews It supports higher quality audio compared to optical and more formats/simple to configure since some motherboards don't support DTS Connect/Dolby Digital Live for playing games over optical conection and have to use moded drivers

Quick questions, is it normal for the channels lights to turn off after a few seconds and turn on again randomly? I know it turns back on when changing volume, but when playing audio from my TV via Optical Digital, the channel lights will turn off after setting the volume to a comfortable setting, and I’ll notice them flash every now and then like it’s adjusting itself? Can you shed some light on this?

i really don't understand the point of these video's... hearing 128kbps music out of speakers going through a mic that picks up the room's reverb, then through editing, then through my earphones, on a youtube video ... might as well guess what this sounds like. not hating just wondering how this is in anyway helpful to anyone ever.

if you now use onboard sound card and analog inputs for setup connection, then yes yes and one more time yes, you get it bit louder and lit bit cleaner.

Yup sound is improved with an external sound device like the soundblaster omni 5.1 that i have, but only if u use it with the composite cable, if u gonna use it with the optical cable the result won't be good

i have a question, will it play the same if i connect it on my samsung tv or play better on my pc?
nowadays tv are the same pc, if you play flac/wav from your tv with optical connection it give the same performance as the PC with optical output. Main playback quality factor is audio file(lossless or crappy 128kbps mp3) and DAC(digital to analog converter) for tv best is optical toslink output, headphone outputs not so good. For pc also optical or good sound card, but not onboard.
Strange why Logitech never released another speaker system to rival the Z5500 and Z906...

Mic clipping, our bass tests are before subwoofer clipping.

Can someone clarify for me, how is this 5.1 system if you can choose from 3D hybrid mode which isn't good for music and games either cus it plays very weird, has "4.1" mode (wtf?), and 2.1 mode??? auto mode does nothing, and only 3D allows all speakers to work, in a weird way???

Toslink cable is more cheaper and can use longer distance. But if you use toslink connection, then for sound DAC it use Logitech unit, but if you use rca/aux connection, than for sound DAC you use Creative.

Hello, I've bought this speakers but I have a problem with setup. I've connected my TV thrue Optical cable to this speakers. Is there a metod to change volume separatly for sourround speakers ? I have one sourround satellite closer to the spectator than the other one, so one i louder for the spectator. When I press level button on a remote control I can change volume only for bouth of thouse sourround speakers. Is it possible to change volume for them separatly ?
No. You can try use resistance on cable or sell this setup and bought real surround receiver with full controls.

may i know why logitech put a 4.1 mode? not a 5.1.. what it mean?
5.1 mode virtualy build surround sound from 2.0 stereo, trying separate dialogue to center, effects to surround.
4.1 mode just duplicate 2.0 stereo sound, result is more louder sound, but that mode can use only for parties, For music listening it's somethink like to Use Ketchup in a Restaurant, because you got two stereo stages -> two

I have BDVN7200W, and I wonder which is better my n7200w or this Z906? I'm impressed by its bass sound but I think other sounds are not that great?
definitely the Sony BDVN7200W sound better for highs and mid, because there is external tweeter, for logitech for this all band work one small fullrage driver. But this sony setup cost around two time more, but not sound two time more. For logitech bass can be almost he same, if we are looking to sub box size.

I see. well, Before I bought my BDVN7200W, I was thinking which to buy because z906 was like $500 in my country and BDV was also like $500, so It took me long time to decide to buy BDV. But well, I think I have made a good decision. Z906 still look amazin tho, I would have bought it if it was same price as in america.
im rly noob about sound, but what i recognize is that it feels like 4.1 goes BOOM unlike 3d stereo even tho the middle one is not used in 4.1 make no sense to me but, more power to the others i guess ? :O

Sony HT Iv300 give bluetooth streaming, also HDMI Inputs/Output. Sony have more features, but logitech bigger subwoofer. They both are good, just take best price deal.

if you use toslink, that DAC process comple Logitech, if you use analog(3.5mm) connection, that DAC process complete external sound card. For 5.1(surround) only logitech decode.
