Thanks for taking about your silly little pictures, it make me feel good about my silly pictures. Cheers
Great update videos on this project. Your black and white work is inspiring and I’m excited to see more! Seeing your work as well as other black and white photographers was a contributing factor in myself switching over to shooting mostly black and white for my personal projects. Thanks for the inspiration! I absolutely love the emotion and raw feeling the medium can communicate.
I hope you are the fam are doing well as that good ol’ Ohio summer rolls around. Because after all, “it’s not the heat, it’s the humidity that’ll kill ya”
That means a lot, man! Really happy to hear that. And you ain’t kiddin. The swamp days are coming.
Love your work and video updates Matt. I'm currently working on my own project: Forgotten Things. It can be really heart wrenching at times but wow, it really brings back some great nostalgic childhood memories. Peace ✌
Love to hear it and thank you! I’m learning I can’t steamroll every project and hammer it out start to finish. Giving myself breaks when necessary makes a big difference.
Another superb video thank you Matt. And CONGRATULATIONS!!! Hope all is well. Interesting observation about Chillicothe and your realisation that you didn’t want to just document the change. I’ve had a similar thought about my on/off work around the small, SW England town I live in. I’ve found (literally in the last 2 days) a ‘thing’ on which to hang the work, which I think will speak to the town’s 900 year history and it’s future. Feels good (finally after 2 years of false starts). Great to be along for the ride with you and really enjoying these more honest (not that you were dishonest but you know what I mean), process-oriented videos. I get a hell of a lot for them and I can’t imagine how difficult it was to get this one out there given your last few days! 🙌👏
Thank you so much, Ben. Truly appreciate the support and that feedback, it’s been a conscious effort to stay grounded and true to myself with the videos. And good look on that project! Finding threads to follow is always exciting. ❤️
You're looking good Matt! Got some type of glow going on haha. As always love following your process.
🥹thank you man!
I've been following you for some time now and I've noticed the change.
It's seems like it's back to photography and less about the gear.
I Like the change! Keep up the great work!
Its great to see how you are doing and also how the project is changing a shaping, these videos help with the process of my own projects too! Thanks for always making great content
I appreciate that, Will! I have fun with these videos and it feels good to be making stuff true to myself.
Congrats to you and Molly on the third baby man!!! Also, that hair though 👌
Thank you! I’m due for a haircut, I kept pretty close to home for that last trimester just to be safe in anticipation. Need to get the ol’ ears lowered.
Always enjoy these... they seem to help me focus in a weird way. Don't you dare diminish your drive and work (and sometimes imperfect seeking of it) by calling it silly and little.
❤️ thank you for the kind words. I’m really glad the videos help! And you’re right, it truly does change everything.
@@mattdayphoto I'd like to say it gets better but in some ways it simply doesn't. It's not a void that can filled.... you just learn to accept it and eventually focus on the memory rather than loss, slowly building new joys OF WHICH YOU HAVE A HUGE ONE NOW! Congrats. Didn't read that til later yesterday. (and I know well the likely feelings of wishing she was around for this too) Ooph. Cheers to you and yours.
Dude you look happy in this video. Love to see that. I think at the end you have to go out there and shoot, just do it. And don't expect the banger photo all the time, I liked what you said: shoot what catches my eye. I try this at the moment and lets see where it brings me ; )
Couldn’t agree more! Just trying to stay connected day to day and not let my anxiety take over. And I felt good filming this video, appreciate you saying that. ❤️👊🏻
I've noticed a few photographers shooting during the peak of the day. Its interesting to see how they work with the light.
I am working on a photo project myself so love seeing your process as well!
Thank you! Glad it’s helpful 🙏🏻
Love your presentation style. Looking forward to the next chapter in your story.
Thank you!
Been waiting for this video!
Thanks for watching!
You seem in fine spirits.
Good thing will continue for you. Stay busy and be patient.
Thank you!
Really great video man! Content wise and production wise. Really enjoyed that! That’s a pretty high bar man. Loving it.
Thank you! Having fun these days. ❤️
Congrats on the new baby!
Thank you! He’s absolutely perfect 🥹
Great video! Enjoy watching your channel.
Thanks for being here!

🤣❤️
A work in progress that's working, apparently, to judge from those negatives. Looking forward to more.
Thanks Bernard! Hopefully I’ll have more developed to share in the next episode, but baby #3 just arrived so we’ll see. Haha
@@mattdayphoto Congratulations to you both. I hope all are well.
Its comforting seeing you happy, these vlogs seem to be good therapy...you're lucky we don't charge like a therapist 😉
Haha, thanks Paul! Funny you say that, be sure to watch the video tomorrow 😜
I like that second shot of the Bridge Matt, Disagree with you on that. Tad more contrast maybe but I like it.
Appreciate your feedback, Paul! hope you've been well, enjoyed the recent video where you broke down your process and where it's at.
You look so amazingly thin and young in this video. I always envy your creativity and will.
Thanks for the love!
Big Robert Adams/Steinmetz energy shooting in that bright ass light. Diggin' it
The highest praise 🙌🏻🥹
Appreciate it, man!
Hi Matt, you might’ve answered this, but are you printing your 6x4 test shots on your 1000 pro? Can I ask what paper stock your using?
What photo printer model are you using?
Canon Pro-1000. I got lucky and a friend offered to give it to me for free late last year, with the caveat that it sat unused for a couple of years and was totally untested. I paid about 2/3 of the price of one just to get the ink, maintenance cartridges, and paper to get it brought back to life and dialed in. Since I got it going again, I print at least once a day and it’s been great. 🙏🏻
why do you even bother to shoot film anymore, you dont even print your work
I’m assuming you meant printing in the darkroom, in which case I do when I get the opportunity to. Whether it be at a community darkroom where I can book a time in there to work, or just printing in a friends darkroom for fun. I do like the idea of one day when I’m old and I have a lifetime of pictures, I can take my time to just enjoy looking back and making prints for me.
Or maybe I’ll stop shooting film tomorrow, it ain’t that serious ❤️
