- Irix 150mm f2.8 Dragonfly 1:1 Macro lens for Canon Reviewed on Sony A7R III. Tested with the Viltrox adapter but if I could recommend one adapter it would be the sigma mc11.

nice lens great shots!
Your model is superb....good review....thanks !!
I’m puzzled by this, it does not make any sense. That is why I’m asking the community for help.
I have many Canon and other brands of lenses with a lot more electronics and not of them are doing this to the battery. Only happens when I use or mount the @ lens.
Thanks for your help .
for curiosity, when you referred to resolution on this lens (mtf),what were the lines of resolution with the Laowa 100mm ultra macro?
that's a pretty cool looking lens
I just got one for my Canon R7 (with the EF adaptor) and it just won't work. It can take one picture, then nothing. Only way out is removing the battery, putting it back in. On-off won't do anything. Any suggestions?
My new Irix 150mm macro came today. Even with the R7 FW update I get the same results as you did. I found a page on the Irix site (not Irix USA) that states that Irix lenses for Canon EF will not work with the R3, R7 or R10. I wish I had discovered that before I bought it and have to return it.
@@bill927I just got back from Irix. Irix will have the lens fixed through a firmware upgrade once shipped to their factory in Poland. I am sending it tomorrow.
Hi, thanks for that video, is it possible to use that lens to do astro- photography? - (i use a Canon 6D defiltrated) is the quality good for long distance focusing?
Its not bad if you deal with f4.
@@LavikkaPhotography ah ok, good, thanks !
I have this lens (IRIX 150mm ) for a couple of months now, but I notice something very strange. Every time I mounted this lens on a camera (in this case a Canon camera) the battery depletes faster, even goes down when the camera is setting down in the off position. I had contact IRIX about this but I haven’t heard any resolution to this yet.
I’ am wondering if anybody else have this issue. #Irix
I have a similar issue on a Canon R7. See above. I can only do one shot, then the camera goes kaput. Only way out is to take the battery off and put it back in.
Much the same here. Not sure if it happens with the 30mm as well, but with the 150mm draining battery when powered off I just got into the habit of storing everything unmounted to the body. During shoots I haven't noticed accelerated draining, but certainly when stored/off
@mellkiades but it works in one shot? I had the camera set to continuous and as you said, I have to to remove the batteries to fix the problem. Agter contacting Irix, it seems the lens needs a firmware upgrade and I need to have it shipped x though Irix will cover most of the expenses.
Sadly i had no luck with my ef adapter which one do you use or would you recommend with the sony a7rIII?
Sigma mc11
@@LavikkaPhotography nice! Thanks a lot!
@@LavikkaPhotography I got my adapter today and it also doesn't work :/
@ whats the issue?
@@LavikkaPhotography aperture control does not work properly. It freezes and the shutter triggers only at 2.8 normaly. Sometimes it lets me choose all apertures down to f1.0 but it always stays 2.8 idk ... i talked to irix and they recommended me the viltrox ef nex iv instead of it... i updated both the camera and the adapter but it does not work ... it worked on the a7sii well but it did not work on the a7riii properly :( i hope my camera is not faulty
So....edward wesson owns pepper pics... NOT !!!!!!!!!!!!
