Ketovore 4 years. 90% meat. Still enjoy an occasional bag of popcorn or ice cream. OCCASIONALLY! Blood sugar under control for the first time in my life! Not quite to my target weight, but close. Arthritis is gone. Back ache seldom occurs. Enjoying living again.

I’ve raised commercial cattle in eastern Colorado all my life. I love experimenting and researching different breeds. For feedlot beef, simangus bulls work extremely well. For my climate semi arid, I absolutely love the black baldy cow (angus/hereford). I’m raising some grass fed beef, and for that operation I’m breeding my black baldy cows to British White bulls. No matter what breeds you use, a planned 3 way cross will almost always produce a healthier, hardier calf.

We made the same mistake with bringing our goats from Utah to east texas
Their bodies weren't ready for the drastic change in parasite type/load. I absolutely adored my oldest nanny goat and we brought her daughter and my favorite buck and almost the exact same story happened to us.. it absolutely broke my heart and I have yet to get back into animals larger than chickens
    (Moved in '21 as well)

Annnnnnd this is exactly why locals are just screwed in getting land. We don't have that multi-million dollar home to sell.

So why these parasites don't effect wild life? Or they do?

    • @alancummings5008

Seldom do larger species of wild life graze in the same area. And also have natural immunity. Take a deer from Indiana and put it in Alabama, and he’ll get parasites and die because those parasites weren’t in Indiana.

Wild animals aren't babied, so weaker animals are constantly being naturally culled by nature. The strongest ones survive and pass their good genetics onto their offspring.
