Simple IT employees in India indirectly and directly feed organised and unorganised sectors. Even though rents in metros are at its peak govt don’t even try to regulate and corporates want their productivity, culture and govts want other unorganised businesses to run tea stalls, sutta shops, road side break fasts.
Exactly, when I was in the office people would clock in and go straight to the break room for 20 minutes getting coffee and making their breakfast. Then stop and chat at someone’s desk and finally 40 minutes later get to work.
Holders of capital (capitalists) decide what is right or wrong and what they want out of employees. 4 years ago, 5-day workweek was the norm. Employees somehow in that time started to think they are the capitalists and they have a say in how many days a week people show up to work. The world doesn’t work like that. The capitalists tells employees what he expects of them and they have to deliver. For those who will resist, they will have a choice to make - have a job or be jobless. I expect 5-day workweeks to be the norm in 6-9 months.
So, when in the pandemic this was not an issue I guess. When you had no choice then WFH is very good. Now, this doesn't mean the Hybrid is not making companies go in losses right?
So sad work from home saves money on gas, tollway, parking, childcare, food. Like they might make more but it going to this expensive so it’s the same as working from home or even less then them supposedly paying them more in office sad for them
And, yet my American Bank employer is reverting back to a work from home model after a failed return to office program. Tech employers have now realized that they can save more money and be more productive by allowing people to work from home.
Everyone knows WFH is less productive, but people will argue for it, knowing that a sustained WFH plan allows the worker to do less at the company's expense, they know that WFH is a privilege because every factory worker, or driver, cannot WFH, they have to come in. WFH also means you don't have to go to sleep early the day before since you're not commuting to work, you just have to punch in, then set the mouse jiggler for an hour or two so you can sleep in, then maybe you can get something done, answer some emails, make some calls, attend a zoom meeting, look productive, then you might go to the corner store, get some smokes, take a break, take a late shower, shop on Amazon, watch a movie in the background, take care of your children, cook something for dinner, because the fun thing is actually doing anything else rather than actual work, and get paid for running your boring life, so yea, make everyone go back to work! If some people cannot have this perk, then you need to make everyone come in, that's equal and fair!
Wfh- no need of daycare, no off time for clinic visits, can do all house chores, no need of childcare or after school programs. No work being done 100%
It’s easier than you think. Convince all your colleagues to not go to work for 2 weeks. The employers will see what cost more between RTO profits and not generating revenue for 2 weeks.
Amazon: Come to office and work for an online shopping company. Physcial presence is better. People: Let's return to shopping at Brick&Mortar stores. Physical presence is better.
Why do most people think that IT jobs are the only jobs? These IT people are able to do WFH just because people at power plants are working in shifts to ensure uninterrupted power. People with desk jobs like at banks, schools, etc are not crying for WFH.
there are some who love goin in. there are some who love working from home. should be a choice at this point. yes, i know ppl that prefer to go in. sounds crazy to some, but they're out there. they say they're more productive at the office. if i had a choice, that would be pretty neat. obviously this is for jobs that can be done at home, and i work in IT. the choice would be nice. esp on days that i don't get a good nights rest.
First of all a typical Manager in an American company has absolutely NO CLUE on his direct report's time utilization, resource allocation and manpower needs. Its the direct report's word and the manager goes by it. The WFH is not productive at all. If I need a quick answer to an issue that is holding my decision on a key task, I can walk up to the person's desk get the answer and move on. In a WFH scenario, I have to ping the guy- no telling where he is may be at the walmart / Home Depot doing some shopping and away from reach. YES this happens. Now the other person waiting for an answer has to wait till the guy comes back from errands. It is frustrating. You are Hired to come to the work place and conduct your daily job and it is a reasonable and agreed expectation. Why all the Fuss wanting to WFH, drawing a fat salary based on Seattle salaries and working out of a low cost farm shed in Arkansas. The job is an agreement and if you can't you can quit. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the mandate.

if we work from home we will be productive for atleast 4-5 hrs
if we work from office the productivity will be 1 hr and rest for coffee brks 😅😂
MNC Companies in India are unable to manage workers and find committed talent locally so even they are outsourcing work to countries like Vietnam.
After who. Employee can return laptop , After office Employee is forced to work from home also .. even on weekends also .
So sad work from home saves money on gas, tollway, parking, childcare, food. Like they might make more but it going to this expensive so it’s the same as working from home or even less then them supposedly paying them more in office sad for them
The whole world should follow Amazon! Finally common sense
Agree to a work in a workshop, so you will be more interested, get a answer to customer, not a call back in a super marketplace, or car while driving.
Things that makes office fun; the jokes, the gossips, the boot-lickers, the factions, the romance and love affairs.
Some roles require on premise presence. I run a small firm, my scale (lack of it actually) does not allow me to go the work from home route.
Microsoft , Google and other big companies are more than welcome to accept top talents from Amazon.
not sure who will cry long-term
The watercooler is lonely. It wants them all back.
Better to not go to Bangalore where there is so much discrimination based on language...so called Kannadigas...we must not go there
Its a govt push from backend everyone knows it
And, yet my American Bank employer is reverting back to a work from home model after a failed return to office program. Tech employers have now realized that they can save more money and be more productive by allowing people to work from home.
Which bank may i know ill apply😅

A stupid company!
Before they could tell me, I quit🤡
I guess Amazon must be tired of paying people to fold laundry, do dishes and make sandwiches for their kids. Capitalist sickos.
It’s easier than you think. Convince all your colleagues to not go to work for 2 weeks. The employers will see what cost more between RTO profits and not generating revenue for 2 weeks.
If you have less than 10 years of experience. Working in Office is better for you.
Amazon is going to lose customers over this. I'm one of them.
And I'll bet the 2.011 trillion dollar company cares so much about losing one online customer.
Amazon: Come to office and work for an online shopping company. Physcial presence is better.
People: Let's return to shopping at Brick&Mortar stores. Physical presence is better.
Good. Get back to normal

True
Does Firstpost allow WFH?
Are you an idiot, the nature of jobs are completely different 😒. People in tech can do remote work as Majority of them don't require a big setup
Toxic work culture rocks.. nothing else
Why do most people think that IT jobs are the only jobs? These IT people are able to do WFH just because people at power plants are working in shifts to ensure uninterrupted power. People with desk jobs like at banks, schools, etc are not crying for WFH.
Work from home is the best that was done in covid.
well of coarse advantage and drawbacks
there are some who love goin in. there are some who love working from home. should be a choice at this point. yes, i know ppl that prefer to go in. sounds crazy to some, but they're out there. they say they're more productive at the office. if i had a choice, that would be pretty neat. obviously this is for jobs that can be done at home, and i work in IT. the choice would be nice. esp on days that i don't get a good nights rest.
Funny how this India channel Always talks about US, but in the US we dont Ever talk at all about India.....
