    Many thanks for this video! I picked up a 2002 Exmark Lazer Z with this same engine that has 3,800 hours on the clock. Once I cleaned all the grease and grime off the engine, I found the water pump leaking out the weep hole! I was able to buy all the small parts from ebay and PartsTree to get it going again with the same silicone you used. Cheers!

    Can you adjust the hydraulic pressure a little higher on these models x585

    • @mmrbeef
      @mmrbeef  6 месяцев назад

      Yes, you can shim the relief valve. Do a search on Mytractorforum.com and there are several threads about shimming the K91 and K92 transaxle.

    Question for you dude. My neighbour has a x495, he was mowing the other day, used the diff lock and now it won't disengage everything under the tractor is where it should be. I'm thinking that a spring on the inside of the transmission on the diff lock shaft had come free or broken maybe one of the two snap rings have broken or something. Is this common? The tractor has low hours 120ish and is in good shape.

      Stuck diff locks are normal due to the linkage but it that is clear there is either something binding inside or as you suspect, something is broken. It might be worth jacking up the rear of the tractor and seeing if it can be disengaged that way. This is not what I would call a common problem.

      @@mmrbeefwe got the deck off it, and got it in the air, everything is how it's supposed to be, the linkages function as they should and can be moved by hand it just won't return to the unlocked position. I'm thinking that one of the snap rings on the selector rod has broken as there are two spring on the rod that keep it in the unlocked position as per JD parts AM878498, so I'll probably have to strip the trans to see what went wrong with it. Just wanted to touch base with someone with a bit more wisdom on these things before I strip it down

    Hi, were you unable to find the replacement gaskets?

    • @mmrbeef
      @mmrbeef  Год назад

      To my knowledge the engine in the X585 did/does not have a gasket available for the water pump. At least one does not show up in the parts book with the gaskets kits nor with the water pump. The water pump that was removed had RTV as the gasket as additional evidence of the lack of available gasket.

      @@mmrbeef That is what I am finding. I guess they just "glued" it all together! I guess I'll take the pump off as a last resort!

    The block looks cracked , location bottom right water pump bolt back on the block and around a lower boss bolt hole.

      I did not see anything that appeared to be cracked. I've run it now for about 30 minutes and no signs of a leak.... yet! lol

      Hard to do the right thing when no gasket is listed in the parts book. If you could perhaps enlighten me on the part number for the gasket I could keep that for when I have to replace another one. Based on the cost of a 445 water pump gasket, the gasket would be cheaper than the Permatex depending on where you get the gasket and Permatex..... The 445 clearly has M139018 listed as the water pump gasket. Neither the FD711 or the FD750 have water pump gaskets listed in the parts book.

    Man I wish people like this would quit working on stuff. They make a gasket for a reason.

      Man, I wish people that comment on videos in a passive aggressive manner would review what would know about what they are commenting on. Like the fact there is no gasket listed for the water pump on the X585. There are in fact gaskets listed for the older 4-5 Kawasaki units. Please apprise me of the part number for this gasket, I have been over looking it for years. I would certainly prefer a gasket over RTV!
