1st to comment! Social Security was originally called "Relief" and was meant as a helping hand or supplemental income during the Great Depression. Social Security was not designed to be a permanant public service or a retirement plan but it has evolved into such. There is also probably a good measure of people on Social Security who probably paid very little or nothing at all into the system. The civic debt has become all-devouring now...

Thanks, Ben! Great coverage of where we currently find ourselves in our nation. Fiscal responsibility to soundness has long since disappeared in D.C.. I pray we as a nation can find true representatives who can reclaim it.

Another very informative video. It's always sobering to see harsh economic realities playing out. Sooner or later everyone comes to the cruel, hard realization that the job (and career) they have taken for granted may not last forever. Unfortunately, reaching financial independence is a rough task if you don't have long-term stable employment, or recession-proof skills that bring home plenty of bacon month in and month out - for decades. And as Ben points out the federal government is in the throws of a deadly debt spiral. Inflation continues and AI will replace many tech and white collar jobs. It's very important to develop skills in high-demand professions and enduring occupations. There just ain't no free lunch. The USA may be doing better than the rest of the world for now, but the federal debt may very well crush King Dollar. All you can do is control what you have control over and hope for the best. This reminds me of the late 1970's and the 1980's, except add $34 Trillion of debt, growing another $1 Trillion every 100 days. That's staggering and it's going to end badly - no doubt about it. Especially when the machines and robots take human discretion out everyday living. Central control looms large. People have surrendered control to technology and they've surrendered financial control to the government and central bankers. It's a grim reality. Enjoy the good times while they last. And keep a cardboard box in your office or cube so you can exit quickly with your personal scraps when the HR goons strike. It's a wicked bad day when that happens.

So what can we do on a personal level to not be affected by this debacle? I can’t think of any thing to avoid the ramifications long term. I have zero debt but I depend on Social Security to get me through the day.

What you said about robots and AI replacing people IS EXACTLY WHAT ANDREW YANG SAID WHEN HE RAN FOR PRESIDENT a few years back. EXACTLY. He knew it wd come (obvious as AI/tech evolves). He should have been president. Alas, the masses (incl the MIC) couldn't "see it".

If they have money for Ukraine and Israel’s military. Then they should have money for any other purpose.

It’s rich to hear Tommy Tuberville talk about dysfunction in the government because he’s one of the major contributors and he profits from it. Thanks for all your work, Ben!
