- After I got bagged by a particularly salty trash talker in solo Trials of Osiris, I challenged him to a 1v1. However, this was NOT a typical "streamer destroys noob" 1v1 because despite all his trash talk, this guy was actually a top 1% player with a KD higher than mine! All of the games were insanely close-watch until the end to see if I win or lose!

I swear to god, I just want to sit down with this guy & talk with him. I want to know what exactly goes through peoples minds during situations like this. Like ... do you honestly, REALLY think this guy is cheating? Is there ANY possibility at all you could be wrong? Or you know for sure? If he WAS cheating, how did you beat him in the original trials match to begin with? Also, because you originally won, why trash talk in the first place? I'm not just saying this - behavior like this is seriously baffling to me. Saying things like "I'M ACTUALLY EDUCATED", and "I'M NOT LIKE ANYONE YOU'VE EVER MET DUDE" - do you not hear these words coming out of your mouth and how you sound?
The way the guy was talking made me laugh. Then again I get stuff like this when I join up on my friends (who play on PC, I play on PlayStation) and I decide to just go for kills. I tried to use MnK, but controller is where it's at for me since I use controller for all the other games I play.

This is a behavior that is practiced comfortably in that way because it is a default behavior. “I’m actually educated” is one of the most fucking annoyingly egotistical things I’ve heard people say. Even being in an academic setting for so long and doing all kinds of research in many different fields I would still not ever have the audacity to say “I’m actually educated” as a stand-alone statement, and only see it being used reasonably as a way to respond to a person who is suggesting you aren’t educated on something and followed by communicating exactly what you are educated about with some potential qualifiers. This is deeply ingrained behavior and the apology is not the normal behavior. If it was he wouldn’t have had to message him about it. He wouldn’t have felt that cowardice to say so on voice. He’s not defaulting to best intentions or even unknown intentions. He’s defaulting to assuming malicious intent and that says a lot about what he defaults to towards others.

This is EASILY the most toxic 1v1 I've ever seen, honestly. Lotsa PvP RUclipsrs try this form of content, but this takes the cake.
Your patience with this guy is nothing short of incredible. The guy is clearly trying to get in your head and you simply won't let him, playing your game even when you're down.
I know he apologized, but this shouldn't happen in the first place. Kudos for being the much bigger person, and even with some of the most inane shit flying from out of his mouth you stood your ground.

From the opening minutes, when we were all stunned by the ferocious skill of the evil trash talker, through shadow’s valiant comeback, to the soul crushing dark days of the second match…everything set up perfectly for the shitting-on triumph of good vs asswipe in the final match. 5 out of 5 stars. Yeah I love PvP but it’s pretty disheartening at times , I hate having a good game where the teams feel even and it’s a close match and then it’s just the absolute most toxic messages after and it ruins it

I admire how calm you were when talking to this bloke. I can understand people getting frustrated playing destiny, but I find all of the unnecessary trash talking people do extremely embarrassing and to be honest there is absolutely no way in the world I would have been able to get onto a discord call with a person that has an attitude like this without getting extremely aggressive msyelf. I started Destiny 2 in early November. Constantly, I was destroyed in pvp. It seem as if everyone was cheating. Typically, I just played mmorpg and mobas so I never really understood FPSs.
Your channel had helpful tips that I passed on to my friend who also started the game at the same time. I love your calm demeanor and your shoutout to other RUclipsrs.

Ik im a year late, but this has been one of the funniest Destiny videos I've ever seen, I'm just recently getting into your content as a returning d2 player and your content is one of the main reasons im still playing.
I love people that take this game so seriously that they rage this hard. This man was trying to act so tough and "educated" that it just made him seem extremely stupid.

As a rage player myself I rage at quickplay but in trials I'm pretty calm and always try to find a way to improve myself I advise him to do the same

@@omrizubary I can relate to that. I "rage" in qp too a bit and it more than likely causes me to play worse than I'm able to at times. But I don't ever get frustrated to the point were I bag first or send messages. I might get salty during the game about my melee doing no damage or getting shot through a wall or someone using what's considered "cheesy" guns but once the games over it's over.
Definitely gotta work on the things I mentioned but I'll get there. Seeing how shadow handled some of this guys remarks is a great example of how I'd like to react to losing fights in game.

What makes me sad about this is the last part of his message. It's so strange to me that ego can grow so big that we can get to the point of not being able to give compliments, say sorry, say we were wrong, etc. Having said that, I also have to wonder how much of this cheater accusation stuff is just people who haven't realized yet just how truly insane the upper bar is for skill. I know *I* certainly didn't understand how high that bar is until the last few years. What changed my own mind on this was actually my own situation. I got ass-handed when I started playing crucible and it pissed me off to no end. So, I got an aim trainer and started busting my ass (I'm just below 1000 hours now in aim hero. I'm not joking about busting my ass at it) and while I'm still only mediocre aim-wise just due to age and health, I realized that I was still better than I used to think was even possible. Especially with fast flick shots. Honest to god, I didn't think people could just whip the mouse at something and actually hit it. When I eventually realized that *I* was starting to do that now, it made me sit back and re-evaluate: If *I* can do it more often than not, (as a ~50 year old guy with health poor enough to be housebound) then people who're young, in good health and with good reflexes would be capable of just truly mind boggling skill with enough practice.

The PEOPLE that play this game... had a match where one guy costantly t-bagged me after each round , he was hiding crouched in a corner while his teammates fighted against me ( 2 ppl fireteam bc 1 left right at the start ) , he had a 0.0 kd at the end, kept on bagging. Self esteem issues. But even if this trash talker in your vid was hard to listen to, at least he sended you that message at the end, i think this was the best outcome possible and oc you were amazing. Great content. :)
