OK, English version sounds like James Bond while this version sounds like something out of Lupin III or a detective flick. Both are good in a different way.

Akiko was actually plagued by rumors that she was a cross dressing man early in her career - but her biggest secret only turned out to be that she was Korean, born in Japan and passing as fully Japanese until 2005.
The Japanese game has the same intro song as the North American game. It's supposed to evoke the feel of a 60's Bond intro, alluding to the game's setting and subject matter. However, this version is just a fun little Jazzy take on the song, not meant to be the actual theme for the game. Both versions achieved what they set out to do and they're both awesome. It's not a contest people...

Kojima is a Hollywood movie buff, he knows what he wants in his game. Everything he did in the MGS games were deliberate, he has a good taste in music.

Even though I didn't understand a thing about what's being sung here, after hearing the Western version for like a thousand times I must say that this version has a fresh, unique and yet somewhat nostalgic feel to it. Also, maybe it's just me but every time I hear Janpanese people speak English I just can't help to have giggle up.

This version has a pink panther vibe to it and it creates a nice contrast with the english version.

I played snake eater for the first time when I was like 10 and this is so interesting to hear. This version of the song is so dope and such a unique twist on the version I’ve heard a hundred times. Pretty cool. This dudes voice is gangster as hell too.
