It's quite amusing that someone critiquing Romanna's Urdu accent is doing so while speaking in English-ironically, with an accent-on a channel named "Pakistani Simplified." Isn't the whole point of simplification to foster understanding and connection, rather than nitpicking? If we're celebrating diversity and inclusion, perhaps focusing on someone's intent and contribution is more valuable than dissecting their accent. Just a thought.
The criticism is absolutely valid. You will have an 'accent' if you're not a native. The only 'talent' of a 'shark' is their wealth/privilege. If someone's 'intent' was to come to a media show to flaunt their money, perhaps she will be more suited in the UK version of this 'shark tank'.
Crap analysis, nothing I can agree with, the only issue I noticed is in the editing of the show, it's not edited engagingly, also the entrepreneurs are not representing their businesses properly, most of the businesses were pitched without the name of companies, these are things that can be improved as it's the first season. The things you pointed out are 100% wrong, Vineeta from indian shark tank was also a product of nepotism, and Romana Dada's struggle with Urdu doesn't matter, how many desi peeps do you know who can speak with proper English accent in Western countries? is it even worth judging someone for? also, aggression is nowhere near the US and Indian shark tank, check Mark Cuban and Mr. Wonderful fighting over every deal and Ashneer barking like a maniac. Just with one season of Shark Tank, Usman Bashir closed the biggest deal in Shark Tank history! no shark from the US or any other shark tank ever made a 5.3 million dollar deal. I suggest working on your content; if you are out of ideas, maybe shut down your channel.
This comment is unnecessarily harsh and EXTREMELY childish. Her analysis was on point. The nepotism issue isn’t about whether other Shark Tank versions have it, it’s about valuing independent achievements. The critique of Urdu fluency isn’t unfair because clear communication is vital for professional impact, again a very very childish point you made. As for aggression, there’s a difference between the purposeful intensity of Mark Cuban and Mr. Wonderful, and the unnecessary "aggression" shown in the Pakistan version. Finally, suggesting to "shut down your channel" is very unwarranted, I suggest you grow up.
this is the typical mentality of Pakistan can't innovate anything so let's ruin it Abhi show shuru nahi hua and you will see these videos popping up claiming nepotism, corruption black money and what not, no wonder why businesses cant thrive in Pakistan, and wth is language requirement for if you speak Punjabi, Pashto,Sindhi,English,Urdu or German it doesn't matter as long as you are getting the job done
I agree with this POV. Nepotism can be overshadowed by merit, which in this case stands on point. No selection in pakistani shark tank is a product of sole nepotism. And urdu/ english debate is indeed unnecessary as portrayed by this channel. I do not think Romanna's communication is in anyway unclear or gibberish. She makes clear communicable and solid points. And any criticism in this regard is invalid.
I understand that there is always strong scepticism amongst Pakistani society towards initiatives that try to make a positive change, and so I sympathize with that perspective. I don't believe, however, that we should shy away from constructive criticism, that stunts growth and development. This is the first season, and I am sure there'll be an improvement with time, but if we don't have an open conversation then there won't be any progress.
I'm happy about at least something remarkable happening in Pakistan. Although there is lack of background information about sharks but starting something is better than waiting for perfection... i hope in future this will lead to correction.
would love it if you could do a video taking a deep dive on all sharks. i personally found it difficult to get any background on them. the info isn’t easily available.
Thanks for the suggestion! I totally agree-it would be great to have more transparency on the sharks and their backgrounds. It's definitely not easy to find detailed information about them right now, which to me is concerning. I'm actually planning to make a video that dives deep into each shark’s journey and achievements, so stay tuned! I’ll be doing some research to gather all the details and provide a clearer picture of how they reached where they are today. Appreciate all your feedback!
I personally love romana's accent & mostly overseas Pakistani are having same accent nowadays so it's not the thing to point out why don't we just accept the way things are meant to
I think you made this video as a uni assignment the points you raisd are so childish and you are all over the place while talking about them sometimes you are explain who they are sometimes your are pointing the problems no proper sequence what a mess
Yes! I did a lot of preliminary research but could not find much on how he has made the amount of money he has and how he was able to invest so much in the latest episode. It's a bit troubling in a country like Pakistan, where we already face such a lack of transparency. I'll be trying to find more information about Usman for my upcoming video with a deep dive, but based on what I have already done there isn't much out there.
5:53 did not know that. i wouldn’t put much credibility or even a business acumen to his name when most seasoned investors literally consider crypto as a watered down ponzi scheme
When I saw this introduction, quite a few red flags went up for me. I would have preferred to see whether or not the startups he has invested in have gone on to do well, and because this wasn't integrated it leads me to believe that Faisal may not have made such investments.
One more thing you can't compare this with other Shark Tanks, like the European ones. The first reason is that this is the first time in Pakistan, and they’ve done it really well when we look at it on its own merit, without comparisons. The second, and more important reason in my view, is the context of Pakistan-the culture and mindset we have here. If you watch the judges’ commentary, their background, or even the language of the show, they are speaking directly to the Pakistani audience, not to Indians or Americans. So, don’t compare their style of communication, questioning, personality, or overall aura with other versions. It’s different because it's tailored to Pakistan’s unique context. I hope I’ve made my point clear.
If you watch the entire video, you'll see that I didn't draw many comparisons to other Shark Tank versions. In fact, I did the opposite. I pointed out Romanna Dada's struggle to articulate herself well in Urdu, which I believe is an important factor when connecting with a Pakistani audience and the entrepreneurs pitching their ideas. This suggests that the show might not be fully tailored to Pakistan’s unique context-except, perhaps, in the way people from affluent backgrounds are placed in key positions, which is a recurring theme in Pakistan. I think it’s crucial to construct arguments on how we can improve, because if we become complacent, we risk staying stuck where we are. I appreciate you sharing your perspective, and I hope you can understand where I’m coming from.
ngl i was mad asf for the first half of the video but you raised some valid points. the lack of transparency and the forced jabs at entrepreneurs felt so corny. hopefully they can take all the feedback and improve.
Thank you for watching the entire video and then coming to the conclusion. I really appreciate that you were willing to hear me out, my aim with this video was simply to vocalize some of the things that bugged me when watching the first two episodes. I'm hoping that based on my and others feedback that they make some adjustments, it is the first season after all and they can always work on the show. Thanks for your support, appreciate it!
I am somewhat in the same boat. It was upsetting to see the focus on a person's language rather than their actual business skills. So many people in Pakistan hold this kind of narrow-minded thinking. Your comment made me watch the whole video, but at the end, she spoke about language skills again and ruined the video all over.
I get what you're saying! Faisal's constant chewing did stand out for some viewers, and I can see how it might give the impression that he's not taking the show or Shark Tank seriously. Hopefully, future episodes will have different filming approaches to minimize distractions like that. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 😊
@PakistanSimplified He probably smokes a lot, those who smoke a lot need to chew on gums or munch snacks to curb the craving. It is slightly distracting but more than that it makes him seem arrogant. Just my opinion. 🤷🏻♂️
I didn't actually consider that may be the reason, but now that I think about it you're probably right. It does come off as a bit off-putting, especially when you're trying to focus on the discussions. I think you're right, it can make him seem a little detached or even arrogant, which definitely affects the vibe of the show. Hopefully, in future episodes, they find a way to keep things a bit more professional. Thanks for sharing your perspective! 🙌

Way too critical, to unnecessary extent! Language isn't that of a big issue. And having connections is one the positive aspects that help entrepreneurs grow... the show is a banger all judges are inspiring
good review none of them are proper sharks ...a shark should be someone who has made his own business and in this case most have family business and other doing jobs for other companies
It was upsetting to see the focus on a person's language rather than their actual business skills. So many people in Pakistan hold this kind of narrow-minded thinking. Someone's comment made me watch the whole video, but at the end, she spoke about language skills again and ruined the video all over.
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video. I put a lot of effort into it, so it means a lot to hear that you liked it. If you have any thoughts or feedback, feel free to share-I'm always looking to improve!
You haven't done anything constructive through this video. At the very least, stay silent if you can't appreciate the first-ever fresh concept in Pakistan after such a long time. It might not be perfect, but it's an encouraging initiative, especially at a time when our country is facing a severe crisis. It’s certainly a more productive and worthwhile effort compared to the vulgar and meaningless dramas from GEO and ARY. Yes, you can make a video on whatever topic you want but at this very moment you should be making the video on the good things of this initiative even if you have to force yourself. Just my thoughts 🤍
Thank you for sharing your thoughts in such a respectful way. The aim of this video was to highlight some aspects of the shark selection and the show’s execution that stood out to me. I agree that Shark Tank Pakistan is a positive initiative-I even made a video when it was first announced, discussing how it could be a great step for entrepreneurship in Pakistan. However, I don’t agree with the idea that we should only focus on the positive aspects. Pakistan is still in a developing phase, and without discussing areas for improvement, we risk becoming stagnant. Constructive criticism is essential for progress and growth.
I see your point, but I don’t fully agree. While Pakistan’s economy does face challenges, I believe there's still funding available-both locally and from international investors who are interested in supporting businesses in emerging markets like Pakistan. The problem, in my view, lies more in the judge selection process and the dynamics of the show itself, which I discussed in the video. The Sharks are in positions to invest, but the structure and approach of the show need improvement for better outcomes. It’s still a good initiative overall, and with some adjustments, it can definitely thrive!
that’s why they made the biggest deal in shark tank history while the panel on shark tank india is sitting on a pile of VC funded loss making companies, but stay mad lol
The voice over done seems very fake as the VOA is unable to say even sarmayacar in proper way, i find it strange that you found negativity in a positive scenario😊
Wish you have spent this much efforts and energy to give a positive and helpful advices than criticizing for baseless things. Please put efforts to support people not to discourage them.
That's an interesting point. I actually created a video before the release discussing how this could be a game changer for Pakistani entrepreneurship, highlighting the positive aspects. However, after the show aired, I had some reservations, which I shared. Overall, it's a step forward, but if we can't offer constructive criticism, we won't make progress. Have a great day!
I agree with others this video is full of crap. Nothing credible. I liked watching the show. There is good diversity in the panel, all are respectful and encouraging, which is important to encourage more and entrepreneurs to show up. I think their advice at times is bot as sharp and measured but it will improve as the show goes on. The only gripe I have is that the entrepreneurs need more help with prep. Some are better prepared than others. Also the editing could be improved also to keep the tempo up. But I am nit picking here overall its an excellent effort and hope people of all backgrounds watch it and come up and try their luck.

Thanks for saying this out loud. Tired of people critizinf her on that. She is the most loved shark and I love her presence in the show.
world is moved on to new things, and unfortunately we are stuck on same point, Gora & English & accent .
😂
